What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“🎮 Try It Free – Support If You’d Like
You can play the core Foxel experience right now for free.
The Early Access version on Steam includes that same foundation, with new features coming in future updates.

Purchasing Early Access is totally optional — it simply supports development and helps me keep building the world of Foxel. If you’d rather just try it first, DM or follow the project on Discord.

🤝 Built With You
From the beginning, my goal has been to make Foxel a collaborative project. I want this to be one of the most intuitive, creative, and user-friendly voxel editors out there — and I can’t do that without you.

I’m looking for feedback on everything:

What felt confusing or unclear?

What features would you love to see added?

What shortcuts, buttons, or labels could be improved?

If you’ve got ideas, questions, or suggestions — I’m listening. Let’s build this together.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“Based on the current feature roadmap and development pace, Foxel could reach a full release in about 6 months. However, part of the goal with Early Access is to explore what’s truly possible with the help of community feedback.

If players help uncover new ideas that push the app to a whole new level, I’m open to extending development to make it something really special. Either way, I’ll keep the community regularly updated on progress, feature timelines, and any changes to the release plan.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I can't make any guarantees of features for the full release but below is a checklist of features I hope to build before release:

🔧 Template-Based Building
-A “Paint By Number” system where players can sculpt cars using starter templates
-Guidance-based crafting challenges for new players
🏁 Advanced Racing Challenges
-Physics puzzles like balancing mass to stay upright on bumpy courses
-Steep hill tests and narrow switchback roads
-“Idle Driving” modes where your car drives itself, and your design determines its success
🏎️ Idle Racing Simulation
-Your car continuously laps a course
-Tweak weight, shape, wheels, and shells to optimize performance and beat your best time
🧱 Creative Building & Town Expansion
-An architecture mode that lets players design buildings instead of cars
-Custom structures placed on lots within Foxel Town

More polish, improved performance, and community-requested features. I'm building this with player feedback and want to evolve the world of Foxel together.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes:

A voxel-based editor for crafting your own vehicles

Physics-based mass placement

Distance-based racing

A double jump ability

Sharing creations in the online space known as Foxel Town”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't currently have plans to change the price. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Currently, I have an active Discord server where players can share feedback, report bugs, post their creations, and stay updated on development progress. I check in regularly and genuinely rely on community input to improve the game’s usability, features, and creative tools.

As Foxel evolves, I plan to host creative events — for example:
“Build something using the color blue.”
Winners will receive small prizes, and their creations may even appear in a custom version of Foxel Town to commemorate the event.

Community ideas and reactions will directly shape future features, challenge types, and editor improvements. This project was designed to grow with its players, and I truly want the building experience to feel collaborative.”

Sculpt it. Build it. Test it.
Foxel is a creative sandbox game where you sculpt custom cars out of voxels and put them to the test on real tracks. Inspired by the spirit of Pinewood Derby racing, Foxel blends creativity, physics, and experimentation into a fun, hands-on design experience.

Whether you're chasing speed records or just building something weird that barely rolls, Foxel invites you to express yourself block by block.
