Long ago, a sacred chestnut tree gave life to three mythical beings, protectors of the dreamworld and guides of the human soul:

• Ipno – the firstborn, guardian of restful sleep for all living things.
• Morpheo – the middle child, who grants the power to dream and glimpse other realities.
• Phao – the youngest, who wakes beings from dreams and helps them carry meaning into the real world.

But when the chestnuts that sustain this balance begin to vanish, the Kasamas grow weaker... and darkness creeps in.
