What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This is a solo project, so there will be issues I didn't find before publishing. I plan to update this game with a new look for the UI, map, characters, enemies, and weapons before ever releasing a v1.0.0.0, something that's easier for me to work with.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game will be in early access for at least two years, or however long it takes to make the new look for a v1.0.0.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the v1.0.0.0 I'm talking about, I want to make this game a DOOM/Ultrakill-esc game, in other words, I want to make the gameplay intense and the style retro (because low-poly assets are easy to work with and kinda cool). I'm keeping the wave-based format, but I want to replace the current maps with a single, simpler, large map.
The enemies will still remain yellow and keep their toaster heads, but with a few changes to their design. I also want to add a 3rd enemy to v1.0.0.0, which I want to be the rarest and hardest enemy to fight.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of this game is you fight 2 enemies forever unless you die. The more points you get, the more enemies that will spawn. You can save your progress if you leave, which will also upload your score to the Steam Leaderboard, but if you die, your progress is deleted, even on the leaderboard. There are also 6 weapons, 2 grenades, and 2 maps.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will change when major features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Your feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated so I can perfect this game before the full release, giving everyone, new and early-access players, a more fun experience. If you want to get with me about any bugs or suggestions, you can follow me here on Steam, or on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and X.”

About This Game

Iron Onslaught is a wave-based game where you survive an endless wave of bots and mechs, and the only way to survive is to kill to unlock new weapons before you're overpowered by them. So sit back, relax, and survive the ever-growing horde.

Kill To Get New Weapons

The more enemies you kill, the more weapons you unlock, and the more enemies that'll spawn (do keep in mind that the bots regularly launch into the air or towards you, and the mechs occasionally fly).

Don't Die

If you die, you lose everything, so make sure to watch your surroundings, otherwise you may get surrounded.

Save Your Progress

When you exit to main menu, your progress is saved for next time, but if you die or start a new game, that progress is deleted.
