Lo que dicen los desarrolladores:

¿Por qué Acceso anticipado?

“Good question! I (ashtorak) have been developing this mostly by myself for three years now, constantly improving and expanding it. This will continue for as long as you support the development. So, while it never will be really finished, it's listed as early access right now as even the most basic features are very rough still or missing, like there is no tutorial or proper gamepad support. When this basic stuff is in, it will be marked as released, but development will go on of course.
The main goal is, that the game should be accessible enough to someone who doesn't know anything about the topic or who does know about it, but doesn't play much games, that they do not give up after a couple of minutes.”

“Roughly 69 weeks.
(I don't know exactly, but I had to put some number. For sure it will take a while.)”

“There should be some sort of orbit around a spherical Earth, maybe with direct flight to Moon. Probably not Mars as it is too far away, and then Moon and Mars landing in any case and some ground based stuff there, depending on whatever happens in reality.”

“There is just one map right now, which is Starbase, and kind of a fake earth which gives the impression that you can go to space.
With every Starbase device you can move around freely as everything is physics driven.
You can drive from Build Site to Launch Site with booster and ship and stack them at Launch Site with Mechazilla, also in multiplayer without much problems.
You can launch, hot stage, return to launch site and catch booster and ship. The latter is a little tricky though currently, but will be improved in the future. Also, while flying (or moving at higher velocities in general), multiplayer is very laggy for physics objects. This is not easy to fix and I am currently waiting for more Unreal Engine updates that make it easier to tackle this.”

“The price will go up continuously over time as more features are added, also during early access.”

“You can comment anywhere, X, Discord, YouTube with feedback and suggestions. I will read it all and might even respond sometimes! :)
There is also a bug / issue / suggestion / feature tracker now, where you can vote on issues and features and suggest new features: https://starbasesim.com/tracking”

Acerca de este juego

Important info before you buy the early access version: Development is paused currently. Read more about why in the pinned forum post.

This is a physics sandbox where you can play around with Starbase devices.

You walk or fly around in first or third person to look at and operate all kinds of devices. For example, you can drive a so called Self Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) under the booster, lift it up, transport it from the build site to the launch site (at real world scale and distances), pick it up with the launch tower lifting device (a.k.a. chop sticks) and put it on the launch mount.

Then you can do the same for the second stage and stack it on top, fuel the full stack with the tank farm, launch the stack, do the hot staging maneuver and return first and second stage to launch site and try to catch them with the chop sticks.

All this is simulated with more or less realistic, slightly simplified physics. You can have it fly mostly automatic (in the future hopefully completely automatic) or control everything yourself, if you want, down to the settings of the PID controllers for angular velocity.

But be warned: The game is still in an early stage. There are not much explanations or tutorials yet. You either will need some prior knowledge or a bit of time to figure out how everything works. For that, please read the in-game hints and tool tips.

Patience and a solid level of frustration tolerance will help you to have a great time as well! :)

You can do everything also in co-op mode in multiplayer. But it's very rough still. So expect some wonkiness. Consider it more as a nice-to-have add-on.

What you can not do yet: Flying into orbit around earth, or going inside the rockets, but you can follow them as observer anywhere as in other games like KSP. These features and much more, like Moon and Mars, are planned for the future.

The main idea with this project is to closely follow and recreate the developments of the real Starbase in BocaChica, Texas and have fun learning to understand how everything works there, and later if they go the Moon, we go to the Moon with them.

There is a lot missing that needs to be added, so this will be in Early Access for a while probably.

Is there a demo?

Even better! There is a full free version, that is just a bit older, but has all features except multiplayer. Go to the game's website to find out more about that.

Requisitos del sistema

Windows
SteamOS + Linux
    • SO: 10
    • Procesador: Ryzen 3 4300u
    • Memoria: 8 GB de RAM
    • Gráficos: Ryzen 3 4300u
    • Almacenamiento: 2 GB de espacio disponible
    • Notas adicionales: If you have Intel GPU, make sure to update drivers. Some Intel GPUs seem to have more trouble with latest Unreal Engine features in general. Also, Mac version will be coming at some point.
    Recomendado:
    • SO: 10
    • Procesador: Ryzen 5 2600
    • Memoria: 16 GB de RAM
    • Gráficos: RTX 2060
    • Red: Conexión de banda ancha a Internet
    • Almacenamiento: 2 GB de espacio disponible
    • Notas adicionales: Recommended should give close to 60 FPS on high quality at 1080p. But there is not a lot of optimization.
    Mínimo:
    • SO: Ubuntu, any recent
    • Procesador: Ryzen 3 4300u
