1.5.2 | Update

Hey everyone!

The past few days Vince and I have been working on fixing the most important bugs still left from the launch of Chapter 3.

Thank you all for the feedback and bug hunting!

Here are the most important fixes/changes:

  • Teleport Exploits

There has been many people using the teleport power to try and get out of bounds in both the Sewer and Circus. I have tried fixing the most important and game-breaking teleport exploits, but because of the unpredictable nature of DD players as well as the teleport ability, you never know!

  • Crazy Carnevil Zone 2 Fixes, Changes and Improvements

    • The Zone 2 skip bug was pretty hard to track, but I believe I found the main cause of it, it should be fixed!
    • Zone 2 received some visual improvements.
    • Zone 2 now has a new rollercoaster hazard!

  • Other Changes/Improvements

    • Difficulty for Deadly Decadence has been drastically decreased on Easy Mode.
    • The Nurse in the preview screen doesn't quack anymore!
    • The Title Screen has a new music track.
    • General bug fixes.

As always, we really appreciate the feedback you give us. Let us know if any of these issues still persist down in the reactions below!

Chapter 3 Launch Day

The wait is finally over! Chapter 3 will be out on June 24th at 8PM PST (midnight EST). Get ready to run for your life from dread duckies & clown gremlins! As usual, we will continue to improve the chapter even after release based on feedback we receive from our community. In addition, we will also be expanding our available languages after launch - adding simplified & traditional Chinese. Japanese & Korean are next after that. Once again, thanks for supporting our spoopy little horror game and I hope you enjoy the new chapter!

About This Game

Dark Deception is a story driven first-person horror action maze game, created from a collaborative indie effort between DD's original creator and the creator of TJOC: Story Mode.

Dark Deception mixes the fast-paced style of classic arcade games with fun horror game design. Trapped in a dark world full of nightmarish mazes and ridiculous monsters, the only way out is to face the darkness and find a way to survive.

This is the first chapter in the Dark Deception story. Investigate and survive the first maze. Be careful though. You are not alone. There are monsters in there and they are looking for you. You will face your fears. The question is - what are you afraid of?

  • Fast-paced Arcade Horror: No hiding in lockers here. Run for your life and run fast. Enemies can be stunned and avoided, but not killed.
  • Power System: Earn XP and unlock powers as you progress that will allow you to even the odds and survive longer against horrendous creatures.
  • High Quality: AAA-quality graphics and creative designs give players a variety of unique and terrifying worlds and enemies to survive.
  • Hazardous Environments: Enemies are not the only danger. The mazes themselves are full of traps, hazards, and other dangers to watch out for.
  • Unique Enemies: Every nightmare presents a unique creature that has its own distinct AI. Players will have to change up their tactics in order to survive.
  • Dark Humor: While scary, Dark Deception is not a bloody or gory game and features it's own stylized brand of dark humor. Dark Deception was designed to be enjoyed by everyone.
