„We want Wool at the Gates to be a rich and varied experience. Due to the nature of the class and faction based synergy systems, this will require a lot of content and balancing. Getting the game in the hands of the players early will help us make the best game we can for full release.“

„We estimate the Early Access period to take anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on how quickly we can develop future content for release and address player feedback throughout the period.“

„We plan for the full version to have additional content, such as more maps, challenges, and heroes. In addition to this, we aim to include quality of life and balance improvements made by addressing player feedback.“

„The Early Access version of Wool at the Gates is planned to include 9 unique class types and 3 factions (Humans, Orcs, and Elves) with their own heroes, towers, units, and perks. We plan to have a variety of finished and fully playable levels with unique enemies and challenges. Early Access will be representative of the final project, just with less content and without the quality of life and balancing patches we plan to make before the final release.“

Informace o hře

Inspired by games like Thronefall, SNKRX, and Warcraft 3, Wool at the Gates fuses minimalistic tactical base defense with the deep class synergy systems of auto-battlers and hero-driven action of MOBA’s to deliver an exciting loop of strategic base building and epic battles.

Defend against hordes of invading sheep through increasingly challenging rounds, each featuring tactical build phases followed by epic battles. Make strategic decisions to balance tradeoffs between building types, delving into faction talent trees, and maximizing auto-battler-style class synergies. Watch your carefully crafted synergies unfold in all out brawls between your defenses and the sheep mobs where your hero leads the charge as the ultimate commander.

Gameplay

Base building: Build and upgrade structures like towers, walls, and resource-generating buildings to defend against hordes of sheep—with finite build slots, every choice shapes your strategy
Round-based levels: Take your time planning your tactics and positioning your troops before the next wave begins, progressing through a series of increasingly difficult rounds per level
Auto-battler inspired synergies: Coordinate your city’s defenses to unlock powerful class bonuses and choose your playstyle
Faction talent trees: Construct Human, Orc, or Elf buildings to unlock perks unique to each faction
Fast-paced battles: Engage in nonstop action as you unleash hero abilities, optimize positioning, and command troops in real time to hold the line against relentless sheep hordes
Replayability: Replay levels on higher difficulties, complete challenges for rewards, and test your defenses in Endless Mode
