What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Jazzhands is truly at the forefront of its genre—there aren’t many mixed-reality games for PC, especially that don't rely on specialised hardware. Your feedback is absolutely crucial in helping us figure out what works and what doesn’t. We’re committed to fostering a two-way relationship with our community as we continue to refine the game together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is to bring Jazzhands out of Early Access once we finalize its community features, including Steam Workshop integration and a level editor—much like other rhythm games. We expect this to happen within the first year of release. We expect this take around 6 to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We're keeping an open mind and want to see what works best before committing to specific features. That said, we do plan to add an advanced level editor and integrate Steam Workshop in the future.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Everything you see in the screenshots and trailer is fully functional! The game features a 6+ world campaign with over 20 song levels. You can also import custom levels, although there isn't a dedicated level editor—you can create levels using any text-based editor.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“When we exit Early Access, we plan to raise the price slightly to reflect the new content and improvements. However, we intend to keep the price stable and affordable after that—not just to ensure accessibility, but also because we both disagree with the general direction game pricing is headed and aim to be an outlier.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're building a community on Discord where we can connect directly with players, get your thoughts on upcoming features, and collaborate with fans to make this game the best it can be. Join us to share your feedback, discuss ideas, and be a part of the development journey!”

About This Game

Jazzhands is a gesture controlled, action-based rhythm game. Restore harmony to a silenced galaxy as you refine your choreography through increasingly challenging levels. Destroy beats by channelling the power of your bare hands through only the eye of your webcam.

Play the role of an intergalactic performer travelling planet to planet performing songs from a variety of genres, from techno to rock and metal. Meet new characters, and unlock new beats, as you progress through your quest to create a symphony to unite all. When you're done, explore the myriad of custom levels!

  • Over 20 carefully curated story levels spread across 6 distinct worlds.
  • Boogie to your own beat by exploring custom levels created by the community.

Jazzhands uses computer vision to interpret your gestures requiring only a webcam, avoiding the requirement of specialist VR hardware. This facilitates a unique mixed-reality experience that aims to remain accessible to most gamers. Jazzhands has been further optimized to work with a broad spectrum of devices, including those with less processing capabilities.

  • All you need to get started is a basic webcam or an integrated camera.
  • There's no need for specialised VR or MR technology, or a high-end gaming device.
  • Offline, local and private - we don't store any footage, everything is live-time.

In a galaxy once thriving with song, the mysterious Silent Composer has repressed all rhythm. Travel through 6 muted worlds meeting inhabitants and restoring missing melodies in a mission to extinguish the Composer's dark presence, and release his rhythmic grip.

  • Distinctive worlds, each hosting a range of unique characters and lore.
  • Uncover the galaxy's secrets as you embark on a mission to save it.
