为何要采用抢先体验这种模式？

“SenS is probably the most ambitious project I could ever imagine.
But at the moment, SenS is developed by only one person. It will probably take years to complete it (as was the case for NaissanceE). Ideally, a big team is required to achieve such a colossal project. Even considering this relatively uneasy context, the SenS development will continue no matter what; it will only start small and then will continue to grow. The rate at which it happens will depend on the success of the early access phase.

These time and resource constraints, while not allowing yet to release SenS in a stage corresponding to my final intentions and visions, are actually an opportunity and a challenge to find solutions to the following problem: how to accelerate the process?
I could continue developing the game in a self-production mode, meaning it would take more time to reach my goals, or I can release it now even if it is an incomplete and very simplified early prototype. This last solution opens doors to innovative options, the main and most interesting one is to include the development process into the game itself.

First, I include the game development as a part of the story and the game design, both on the visual side and the gameplay mechanics.
Second, I include it as in-game interactive DevLogs, so players will be able to follow (and eventually be a part of) the game making process.

So, even if at “The Beginning” there is nothing (or almost...), the idea is that by buying SenS now:
- You will allow for a faster development progression.
- You will follow from the inside how a video game is made by playing a constantly evolving game and by exploring the interactive GameDevLogs.
- You will participate to its evolution by commenting, giving feed-backs, and suggestions. Eventually, if you are interested and have required skills, you could even join Limasse Five and the future dev-team that I hope to gather.
- You will see how these drastic constraints can be the ground for creative game design, art design, and storytelling concepts.

This early access version of SenS is the foundation step toward something unique, something that should go way beyond what you usually expect from a video game...

“Expect at least around 20 months before SenS development will be considered completed. However, even when it will reach completion, the game will probably continue to evolve.
Depending on the success and possibility to expand the dev-team or not, this approximate time frame may vary.”

“The final version of the game will include many currently missing features. Those features, like text localization and dubbing, more ambient music and sounds, more options and game/control/display settings, I have chosen to not give development priority at the moment.
Due to the nature of the project, a lot of gameplay features will be added as well as environments and stories to explore.
Obviously the final game will be far more polished and visually appealing than it is right now.

To give you an idea of what SenS will looks like in a few years, if everything goes well, imagine a kind of open world exploration-based multiplayer game, taking inspiration from various sources, such as Tsutomo Nihei's works, Mark Z. Danielewski's House of leaves, Fondation SCP...
If NaissanceE, Jeux d'ombres and Inférences were first attempts to bring life to my old Naissance project, SenS should be the evolved vision of this Naissance project.”

“To achieve such a big and ambitious project, I needed to start with something small and simple.
At the moment the game is a very early version. It can be considered as a playable prototype with a special care taken to minimize potential bugs, in order to make it comfortable to play. However, keep in mind that it is a very basic representation of what the final product should be. Only a few gameplay features are implemented and in a preliminary state.
The content is limited to the introduction of the story but should help giving you a glimpse about the intentions, the context, the characters, and challenges awaiting.
If it was a Sci-Fi TV show, it would be like a pilot with missing and/or early pre-visualization versions for special effects, backgrounds, sounds, and music. Instead of famous actors, you would see the stunts. But they would be great stunt actors!”

“There is a chance that the price will change during and after anticipated access. During the early access the price may slightly raise as the team extends and as new features and contents will be added.”

“Community is invited to participate in the game evolution by commenting, spotting issues, giving feedbacks, and suggestions on the game evaluation page, forums, and social networks. There is a plan to make in-game systems for simpler and better participation but these features are not available at the moment.
Eventually, if they are interested, players with creative interest and skills might join the dev-team.”

SenS is a game about exploring and solving the mysteries of the Structure.
Ideas and thoughts, simple words or dramatic stories, complex systems, hypnotic sounds, confusing memories and labyrinthine buildings... The Structure can take many shapes for exploring and interacting with it.

But what is the Structure?
How to understand it?
How could you not have lost yourself and your mind while diving into its infinite depths?

Wandering in the mad architecture of its material manifestations, trying to understand the unknown rules of its conceptual aspects, avoiding or facing the hidden dangers and traps, you will realize the Structure is present everywhere and in all things.
Maybe you will find the most precious treasures you could ever dream of.
Maybe you will unveil the greatest secrets of the universe.

But the Structure is unstable, unpredictable.
The Structure reacts and appears differently to each being who dare adventure in its heart.
You could never come back, or you could never want to come back, and you would be changed forever...
