Acerca de este juego

Break the chains of consumerism as you climb through the wells of gravity, in Gravity Break, a physics-driven space simulation adventure for all ages.
Inspired by classics like Spacewar!, Elite and Escape Velocity, we strive to make space interesting, fun and engaging - now with less weapons and more cheese!

Built by rocket nerds and gamers, who remember how fun it was to fly rockets when you were a kid, but get intimidated by huge simulations like KSP, EVE or Star Citizen. Get in your rocket and save the world.

So long, and thanks for all the Cheese

Gravity Break is in active development, and the current demo is a small step towards the giant leap we hope to achieve.

In the final game, you will encounter a post-post apocalyptic Solar System, where mice have merged with an AI to spread life across the Universe. You are the last surviving human, and venture forth as a lonely cheese courier, making a buck by helping colonies develop across the planets and moons.

The core gameplay is centered around moving heavy resources between planets in a 2D environment, governed by simulated physics and economy. Your goal is to first transport soil and seeds to fertilise a planet, then grasing animals to create cheese which feed your crew and the settlement colonies. You are essentially a single trader, travelling between civilisation-style economies, to buy better rockets and help everyone grow.

But then, you meet Bilby Pretzl, who wants to change things, and the onboard AI, OLLI 87-042, who knows things.

Realistic simulations, weird context

Gravity Break is a space adventure aimed at kids and young adults of all ages.
The core of the game is an easily accessible physics simulation of space travel, inspired by Newton's laws. We have bent the time scale so it won't take days to visit the moon. The game will let you play with rocket physics, make risky slingshots through gravity and learn how much fuel you need, to buy that extra ton of cheese.

The economy is driven by supply and demand, production and consumption. There is a lot to tweak and a level of detail that needs to be increased, but the core idea is to create an environment, where your trades are as much a product of time investment as price fluctuations, with an ambition of creating interactions with planetary environments based on the use of rocket fuel. If our ambitions stretch too far, we will figure it out on the go.

Playful and experimental development

The developers behind this are huge space enthusiasts with a deep love for astrophysics, rockets, and robust systems. Therefore, it is our ambition to explore:
  • How does the solar system open up when rocket travel is no longer so cumbersome?
  • How can the economy evolve if you tweak the competition parameters?
  • For how long can we avoid implementing a laser in the game?

Ongoing development
