About This Game

Urchins & Ink disguises a language-teaching game within a 2D action shooter. Absolute beginners and intermediate learners can understand and pronounce hiragana, katakana, and kanji at their own pace. No flashcards! No multiple-choice tests! Hiccup Interactive has worked hard to ensure that cute sea creatures and fun gameplay overshadow the intimidation of learning a new language. Our approach to edutainment focuses on innovative game mechanics to make learning complex topics more seamless with play. Urchins & Ink offers a more enjoyable and interactive approach to learning a new language, which is much more fun than completing a worksheet.
