Why Early Access?

“Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon is an incredibly ambitious project. Our goal is to create a living and breathing open-world RPG with a lot of soul. We are an indie studio with not the biggest (50+ people) but highly ambitious team that wants to create this unique game together with the community. We believe that involving players at an early stage of the game can be a fun experience for players and highly beneficial for the game's development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming for the game to leave Early Access in Q2 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version features the first chapter of the game, Horns of the South (around 10-15 hours of content), and the second chapter, Cuanacht (another 10-15 hours of content). Please note that your saves may be deleted with major patches. 90% of major game mechanics will be present but without final polish. There may be some bugs and imbalances. The final version of the game will have more visual and audio polish on all fronts. The story and quests from chapter 1 are mostly finished but may be altered based on player feedback. Right now, there is no main story in chapter 2, only the side quests.
New features:
- further improvements of all core game systems
- thievery systems (and improvements to stealth gameplay)
- dual-wielding of weapons
- improvements to melee fighting
- player-owned house(s), gardening, fishing, and other such activities
- a lot of additional content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable, with minor bugs. You can expect a lack of final polish, but you should have an enjoyable 20-30 hours of adventure with the main story in chapter 1, side quests in both chapters, and plenty of places to discover. The game has a full voice-over, and 90% of major game mechanics, such as combat, crafting, alchemy, and magic are working.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price of the game to be higher for the full release, so buying during Early Access should get you a good deal!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Working with the community is one of our core values, so we will involve people at many levels. We will be active here on Steam, giving updates and reading all the comments, as well as on our Discord server, where we can discuss things in more detail. Players will have a real impact on the design and balance of the game. While we can’t respond to everyone, obviously, you can be sure we read everything.”
