What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows me to get my game out there in an early stage, where I can take on feedback and suggestions, and work on and implement them from the beginning. I believe the best way to make a good game is to make a game that people want to play, rather than one I think people will buy.

Edit: This game will be remade into a completely new product, keeping in line with my original views, I'm not happy with this game how it is and there's a severe lack of ideas or direction for the game, so in my opinion my only option is to take advantage of the "early access" and work on providing something better, more fun, and with more longevity that I can feel happier to put my name on.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Indefinitely at the moment, I don't plan to update the game as it is anymore due to lack of public interest and no design direction, and have made the game as cheap as it allows me to while I work on providing a new, better product.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be determined by the community/feedback/suggestions. It will differ a lot. Soon after release into early access, ironing out any bugs that come up with the base mechanics, i'll be overhauling the entire visual side of the game to bring it up to the standard i'm capable of.

Pretty quickly, i want to learn how to, and then add a lot of the steam functionality such as Steam achievements, Steam cloud saves, and Steam stats. There are a lot of additional features i would like to go down with this game, though i'm trying to leave it completely open so that i can really build a game that's been shaped by a community, rather than just me.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Base mechanics that are in the game on EA release;
the "needs" system
basic gameplay loop
multiplayer server hosting/browser

visual style;
There's a rough idea of what i'm going for, this will be overhauled pretty soon after EA release, and can always evolve over time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of Surviving Isolation will increase upon leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“i will be taking on any and all feedback, through the community discussions, reviews and in the dedicated discord server for the game (which you can find in the discussions or in the extra links), in order to build the game around the community and those who have supported me. :)”

About This Game

Surviving isolation is a game where you must survive as long as you can while self isolating. Play by yourself to see how long you can last, or (preferably) play with up to 3 friends and fight over the limited toilet roll supply!

Collect Toilet roll, live off of soup, save all your water, ration your antibacterial gel and use music to keep you entertained while you're in quarantine.

Currently implemented features;
Collect toilet roll
Eat Soup
Use antibacterial gel
DJ set
Needs system (thirst/hunger/fun/health) - will decline over time, keep them up!
Throwing toilet roll
Swimming (floating?)
Dying (keep track of how many gravestones you have!)
Saving/Loading/deleting
Multiplayer
Settings (but these + ui need some work)
Grass that flattens when you walk on it
A sick discord channel
Steam features (friends list, send invites, receive invites, accept invites)
Shop that spawns in random resources over time
Estoban the toilet roll delivery cube
Day/Night cycle

Future Implementations;
Maximum held toilet roll
Actually spending your held toilet roll
Inventory system (so you can't hold all of the toilet roll/can save food/water/antibac instead of instantly using it)
Different types of food
Variations of drinks
More music (maybe some secret stuff here too)
Push/punch each other (gotta get that toilet roll)
Fishing
Custom gravestones
House upgrades
More Steam features (achievements, cloud saves)
Day/Night cycle needs to sync across all players
