Miksi Early Access?

Early Access provides the opportunity for interaction with the community while the game is in production. It will also allow us to add features users are interested in and iterate based on community feedback to the changes we make.

There isn't a defined length we intend to be in early access, its partly determined by how long the features with the highest demand take. We estimate 6+ months of early access plus additional updates after full release.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

Our goal is to release into early access with the core game mechanics and co-op well established. During early access we will continue to add items, missions, primary story, world assets, biomes, vehicles, contraptions, monsters, and Titans.
The full version will have an extensive and balanced exploration survival world, a compelling story arc, and multiple Titan types.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The game currently has most of the features related to moment to moment gameplay.
The core systems are in for:
interactive ocean sim, save/load files, combat (melee and ranged), crafting, building, sailing, procedural world spawning, buildings interacting with oceans, contraptions, land and ocean creatures, mission log and active mission, world map, animal breeding, buy/sell with shops, npc, day night cycle, player experience system.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

The plan for pricing has not been fully decided on, but it seems logical that the price will be lower during early access and gradually increase as major elements are updated or as full release nears.

We don't want to work in a vacuum. Feedback, Ideas, and bug reports will all be heard and appreciated. We plan to reach out and engage the community whenever possible and at specific key steps (alpha, beta, early access release, and milestone events). We currently plan to use the steam community hub, discord, and twitter to inform and engage with the community.
We want to hear feedback on our ideas, new ideas you have, and bugs you found on your travels.

Explore a procedural world with dangerous ocean depths and massive Titans in an Exploration Survival game that changes the way you interact with water.

Displace water with powerful crystals harvested from the world, delve into its depths to collect rare resources, build walls to contain the ocean or block the waves, and help the people rebuild from the constant destruction. Titans, artifacts from a dead civilization beneath the waves, roam the world causing destruction. Survive with what you can harvest from the land, trade with passing fishermen or at ports, and voyage across the world through deadly storms to find new adventures.

Gather crystals and refine them into items which displace and deform the ocean revealing rich resources below.
Craft items to suit your play style whether it be farmer, explorer, adventurer.
Build and customize your boat to handle Titans, rough weather, and local enemies.
Massive world filled with procedural islands and unique biomes.
Dynamic time of day.

[Titan Lore]
There are multiple types of Titans in the world. The most well known are the Turtle Titan, the Serpent Titan, and the Crab Titan.

The Turtle Titan is difficult to damage and has a deadly range attacked. It roams the ocean causes massive waves that wash over islands and carry away anything in their path.
The Serpent Titan likes to roam near storms and causes large whirlpools which suck anything above water... below. Since it swims below water, it can be difficult to attack.
Little is known about the Crab Titan other than its not afraid to walk up onto dry land to attack humans and buildings directly. How do you even stop something the size of an island with 8 legs and made of ancient stone?

[The ocean sim]
The water in Breakwaters isnt just there to make waves. You can directly interact with it by crafting Refined Crystal items and building stone walls. Delve into its depths to find rare resources, build a wall to protect your home, or create a holding tank of water to supply your water pumps and power your contraptions.
There is over 360 sq kilometers of simulated ocean to explore, filled with unique places, strange creatures, and quirky people to meet.
