«We are a small team with big dreams. We always wanted to make a game that can be enjoy by people of all ages. To help us achieve that goal, we want to involve the community as much as possible from start to finish and beyond. With early access, our limited budget can go a long way while we show off features as they become available and not have to worry too much about things breaking here and there.

If you are looking for a polished game with little to no bugs, please wait until our full release to purchase. We are releasing on early access to involve the community in the development process.

Hvor lenge antas det at dette spillet vil være i tidlig tilgang?

«The journey to perfection is a quest that never ends. We have a long road ahead of us and we are hoping we can get the game finished by the end of 2021. We will continue to polish and fix bugs until we feel the game is near perfection. We hope you join us on this adventure and make Spirit a game you can be proud of.»

Hvordan er det planlagt at fullversjonen skal være forskjellig fra versjonen i tidlig tilgang?

«The early access version will include the basic features of the game. We will break down our development into phases. We can't promise you that everything will go exactly according to plan as many things can happen.

For the first phase of early access, when it's ready for people to test, we will have one game mode, Sandbox. Sandbox will allow us to develop without restricting our hands on what we can add and remove. We are also working on a very small budget so a lot of the asset will be placeholders while we acquire our own custom ones. We will be putting out updates frequently and if you wish to have a more polished game, this is not the time to join.

For phase two, we plan on adding our main game mode, it will be a progression style mode where you will gain and lose karma based on how you interact with the ecosystem. Will you follow the natural order and successfully reproduce and populate the world or will you go on a destructive path? We will gradually be adding more custom animals as we will no longer rely on a small budget.

For phase three will do clean up, bug fixing, all around polishing, and making community suggestions a reality. If you wish to contribute to the development of the game, please join our Discord.

The "final" release will never be the final as we plan to continue working on the game for years to come. We plan to have as many animals as possible in our game. That means we are planning to include more than just one type of certain species. They may or may not have different models depending on how different they are.

We are planning to make DLC after the final release, FREE. We expect the game to be very big in terms of variety and in terms of data. So server owners can choose which DLC to include.

This is our vision and this is what we hope to achieve.»

«The current state is rough, there are many bugs that needs to be fixed, and we are using many placeholder assets while we acquire our own custom made models and animations. We will have a working multiplayer game with key features included. Please join our Discord if you wish to help contribute to our game and help with bug reports.»

«Community feedback is our number one priority. That is why we want to release as Early Access to get as many feedback as possible before releasing the full game. Spirit is a casual animal simulator. Join with your friends to socialize and live the life of an animal. Hunt for your food, adapt to the changing environment, find your mate and produce the next generation to continue the search for paradise. Help them grow and they will be stronger, faster and more resilient than ever. But do be warned, mutations can be a good or a bad thing.

Multiplayer Servers

Spirit is meant to be played with friends and a big community. We are aiming to have servers perform well with upwards of 150 players online at once. We will host multiple official servers with different game modes around the world. We will also release the server files to community leaders who wish to host their own private server with custom rules. Realism and Roleplaying is very popular among this genre and we will provide many tools to assist with server management.

Different Game Modes

Our final vision for our game is multiple game modes to suit a variety of gameplay styles. Sandbox, you can play whatever and do whatever here. Survival, you will grow over time and require food and water to survive. You will have to find a grazing spot or hunt another animal. Once you grow up, you can find a mate and reproduce. Each time you reproduce successfully, you have a chance to collect a mutation. More on mutations below. Ascension will be about going from the bottom of the food chain to the top. You start out as a small animal like a rat and end up as an apex predator. You are reincarnated into a higher being when you grow old, have enough karma points and die. We will add more game modes as we reach out to the community for more feedback

Collectables

We are planning to have many skins for each animal and to acquire those skins, we will enable drops on official servers. The more time you spend on the servers, the better chance of getting your favorite skins. We are also adding collectable mutations. Mutations can be colors, ability and visual. Want an albino skin? Better go start procreating and hope you are lucky!

Story Mode

Don't like the competitive multiplayer atmosphere? Then story mode is for you. Each animal will have a unique story mode to play through at your own pace. There will be different maps for each animal, fitting to their natural habitat. You will encounter challenges, puzzles and enemies to fight or avoid. You will raise babies and teach them the skills necessary to survive the relentless fury of mother nature. After completing each story, you will be rewarded with a variety of skins.
