Why Early Access?

“We've built what we feel is a strong core for The Anacrusis. Eighteen months into our Early Access period, we've released more than 35 updates for The Anacrusis. In that time, we've added new weapons, enemies, maps, modes, and top-level features, like Steam Workshop support for campaigns, character skins and accessories, Holdout Mode, Versus Mode, and a whole lot more. We've incorporated feedback from the community into every aspect of the game, from quality-of -life feature requests to weapon and combat design and map flow and mode suggestions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We'll be in Early Access until Episodes 4 and 5 and Versus mode are complete. Episode 4 is nearing completion and with Update 35, we've rolled out our first public version of Versus mode. We expect to have Episode 5 ready for launch in Fall 2023.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game currently ships with 4 episodes. We'll have Episodes 4 and 5 complete, as well as add support for a L4D-style Versus mode and do a complete "weapon feel" pass to improve the animation and sound of all of the weapons before we leave Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first three episodes are feature complete, we've added preliminary mod support for Steam players and allow cross-play with players on other platforms. We've rolled out Versus mode for PVP play, Holdout mode, Intense and Intenser difficulty settings for more challenging play, and have dozens of Weekly Challenges in the game already.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this time, we do not plan to adjust the price after leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Mid-way through our second year of Early Access, we've released 35 updates to the game. Each update integrates loads of ideas, suggestions, and just general feedback from players. The game is where it is today because of the amazing community that's formed around it and their thoughtful feedback.

About This Game

Play As The Aliens in PVP Versus Mode!

PVP comes to The Anacrusis! The goals are simple, Survivors need to reach the end of the level and the Aliens must keep them from their goal. Take control of the Brute, Flasher, Grabber, Gooper, and Spawner (with more special Aliens to come) and keep your friends from escaping the level. Tuned for intense co-op PVP play with teams of 2, 3, or 4 players, or take on the bots in a private match to practice playing the aliens.

We Love Mods!

We think co-op games are better with mods, which is why The Anacrusis includes Steam Workshop support for new campaigns, holdout maps, character skins, character accessories, gun charms, and animations, with more to come. Fight Aliens Using Fantastical Weapons

Battle the alien menace using an astounding arsenal of classic sci-fi weapons. Buy yourself some time with a stasis grenade, toss a shield grenade to provide instant cover while you pop off a heal, and bring your friends back to life using the Respawner. Or throw caution to the wind and burn friend and foe alike with the laser rifle.

Earn New Perks and Change the Way You Play

Matter compilers spread throughout the game give you access to dozens of perks that will change the way you play. Stack all of your upgrades to power up the last-resort pistol or boost your defense by supercharging your shield pulse. Unlock new perks as you play, and share your unlocks with everyone on your team!

Survive the Alien Infestation!

In the distant future, mighty corporations have carried humanity to the fringes of the galaxy. After expanding unfettered across tens of thousands of systems--all devoid of intelligent life--humanity has grown complacent, until disaster strikes. Work together and survive the alien hordes!
