What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Afloat is in eary access, because it's a great way to involve the the VR community, in creating a fun and interesting building/survial game in VR. Early acces is a great platform for this, allowing for player feedback, and the chance to incorporate ideas.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The aim is that Afloat will be released in the spring of 2020”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At the moment, the early access version is mainly about building and upgrading your raft. In the final version, I would like to add the option to make the game a bit more challenging, adding enemies that could damage your raft or steal your food. Another thing I would like to have in the final game is more complex recipes for crafting new resources.

Ofcourse there are many more things that I would like to add to the final game, but I would also like to incorparate ideas and feature requests from the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now, you can do alot already. You can already gather, craft, fish, cook and build. However, the options to choose from are not as many as I want it to be.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will increase when its's fully released, but while in early access, the price will stay the same.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I hope the VR community can be involved in this project, since every suggestion or feedback is welcome.

I intend to upload an update video to youtube about every month or so, where I show what progress has been made, and what can be expected in the future.

Another good way to get updates is through the discord server. There I will occasionally post an update about the game, and there the game can also be discussed.”
