EoSnB is a resource gathering survival game with plans leading into strategy style game play. There are three primary staged objectives we wish to hit with the game to get it where we wanted it to go and hope you enjoy playing and testing it out as it makes that journey.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Game is currently in mid-alpha stage and not quite ready for early access launch. A long list of features beyond the base game shown are planned.

The game will initially be a production/construction simulation with harvesting and minor combat with wildlife and in the end of the first stage some bandits and humanoids. Farms function with a half dozen animals and crops, wood harvesters and stone workers are fully functional and work on their own. Town halls can be linked to farms and vice versa completing the first tier and opening the second of four tiers. Please see how full version will differ below.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“With many long term goals, expecting approximately two years. This period starts after the December launch.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Once the first stage is completed (mentioned in early access section above which continues into the current state below), smooth, optimized, and fits objectives, Stage two will begin where orders will be able to be given and queued to military and civilian units. Formations and military control additions as well as force on force combat npc based fights with approximately 100 units at first. We would like to implement a mesh animator at this point to try to boost combats to up to 20 different unit types and 1200-1500 units but for now we are anticipating 100-200 unit combat caps. stage 2 ends with fortress availability, tier 4.
On second stage completion, Stage three will begin. Some menu additions will come into play at this point aimed at country/province takeover/assaults. Two primary additions not currently in the game that are planned for this stage is The Seat of Power (very large fortress/multi piece placed) and Emperor unit. Starting with the fortress however a new set of empire/world stat menus will be added/developed as well as functionality being built into the world map shown at game lobby level. Multi province construction initially won't have links together but the goal will be to be able to transport between provinces/countries. Essentially on stage 1 you have one map to play and build on, by third stage the objective is 1 map per country/province you have taken over with the objective being to take 75% of provinces and build a seat of power to meet the win objective.
On a more immediate note one thing that is going to be changed menu wise fairly soon is the crop control panel on the Farm. The selection arrows will most likely be turned into radio buttons with a quantity planting/planted text window per crop. Threshold levels may also be implemented for more granular commodity control.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Tier 2 is currently under construction. All buildings can be purchased/crafted and placed but tier 2 is currently the level being developed. Tier 2 through 4 will be completed during early access. Tier 3, Keep access, will be the end of stage 1. There is currently a mount automatically available for play until EA stage 1 is completed at which point when starting fresh you will need to acquire it through the tech tree. Currently minor bugs with a few commands and possible lag for older machines on higher frame rates. The larger your kingdom gets the more intense demand gets on the machine as not all area of interest is fully functional yet. This is one of the above mentioned optimization goals. With a recommended machine or higher you should be able to get great frame rate at minimum settings and decent at high end.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price is still under debate but expected to increase as content and tiers are rolled out.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Interested in constructive feed back towards making the game a great experience for all, especially with UI and control comfort. One particular part that we would like community feedback on is the individual piece castle construction. It is starting to feel like the individual piece construction takes away from the strategy aspect of the game. Please let us know if there are any other features you would be interested in seeing!”
