What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is fun but has lots of potential for improvement. In order to become amazing it needs real world community input and battle testing. Early Access is perfect for this.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm expecting completion of a full single player campaign, content and features to take roughly a year, but it might take longer depending on player feedback and how the concept evolves.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game will be expanded into a more complete and entertaining package. There will be much more environment art. Another important focus will be gradually improving the roguelike gameplay (more weapons and powerups, smarter level layouts & complexity, adding puzzles, traps and secrets). Also: controls improvements, optimization and of course: more enemy types!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“So far, I've focused on the core gameplay and art style. The game is currently in a fully playable state with 5 weapons, 4 enemy types and a basic level generator that can generate an infinite amount of levels. This is a very early version of the game so it has bugs and performance issues that I would love reported. There is not much GUI. Controls and locomotion needs more work. The game also needs a proper end sequence.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will be gradually increased as more features are added and the quality and polish level improves.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm looking forward to your feedback, suggestions and bug reports in the forum discussion. I'll read everything and will reply as much as I can.”

About This Game

Action Reactor (Alpha) is a retro-electronic VR shooter inspired by classic FPS & vector arcade games. Dash, doublejump and pulverize your enemies with akimbo gunplay and insane slomo stunts in this wild romp through a neon laser inferno!

"TERMINAL - once pure and perfect - has been corrupted. For every millisecond, the malicious SYNDROTE seizes control of a new sector. Your mission is to REBOOT THE UNIVERSE by deploying a PULSE BOMB in the heart of the ACTION REACTOR. In your path stands a vast array of BADASS ELECTRO WARRIORS, hell-bent on your elimination."

I made this game out of love for the pace, feel and humor of 90s FPS games and the clean look of vector games and vintage CGI. It is a solo indie project and currently in an early stage, but I'm planning to expand the world of Action Reactor over the next months into something more and more fun and entertaining.

  • Pure, fast-paced and addictive 90s FPS gameplay in Room-scale VR
  • Clean vector & low-poly art style inspired by classic arcade games and vintage cgi
  • Rapid dash & slomo jump locomotion with great freedom of movement
  • Procedural platform maps and roguelike population logic for max replayability
  • Dynamic body shattering (why put holes in your enemies when you can pulverize them?)
  • Advanced active ragdoll physics with animation blending and muscle simulation
  • There's currently a very basic collection of classic FPS weapons with more planned.

  • Obliterate hordes of badass electro warriors and corrupt security drones
  • Ambush, assault and assassinate using crazy slow motion stunts and akimbo weapon combos
  • Blast your enemies to pieces, steal their weapons and "mine" their corpses for health
  • Out of ammo? Dash-tackle your foes, knocking them to the ground while you bail out or rearm
  • Unlock forcefields and new level branches by finding secret switches, keys and items hidden in the environment
  • Adapt your play style; swift stealth and surgical strikes can sometimes be as effective as frontal assault
