What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows me to get feedback as I continue to work on the game. There are several things that I would like to still add to the game, but it is currently in a very fun and playable state. I believe that the community can help me with these final additions and possibly give me ideas for more.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I estimate between 6 to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“This is my list of possible additions and features to add during Early Access:
  • Balancing - Those in Early Access may receive access to the balancing text file to help me balance the game. This balancing feature will be disabled for the full version.
  • Polish - Small changes here and there that improve the look and feel of the game.
  • Additional game modes: Classic, Roguelike, Survival - 3 additional game modes to increase replayability.
  • Speed Run options
  • Additional languages - French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and more
  • New game cover art
  • More original music from Adam Mullen
  • Steam Achievements
  • Steam Cloud Saves
  • Level Editor, Cutscene maker and Campaign Creator - Only if the community gets big enough
  • Mac release
  • Linux release

Not all of these additions/features are guaranteed to happen. And I may receive new ideas from the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version currently contains the Campaign Mode, which consists of 21 levels. You get to take on 6 bosses and 2 mini-bosses. There are 15 cutscenes that tell of the epic story. You can explore and find the 26 weapons and 11 buffs throughout the game. Some of which are unlocked as you complete the 3 New Game+ modes. The Campaign Mode is complete. It may see additional balancing in the future, based on community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price will not change when we leave Early Access.

Any in-game DLC, like additional game modes or level editor, will be free for those in Early Access. And when the game is released, those that received the DLC for free during Early Access get to keep it :)”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I hope the community can help give feedback on things that can be improved on. I may release the balancing text file that can be edited (during Early Access only) so that we can find the most fun balanced game possible. I would love to have people help me as I design the additional game modes: Roguelike and Survival. If the community gets big enough, I would love to create a level editor, cutscene maker and campaign creator to see what people can make!”

Patch Notes - 2019.07.31

This patch fixes several bugs. Next patch will add more content

  • Fixed bug where you could unlock Mount Olympus mode before the other 2 NG+ modes, which caused the game to crash.
  • Made unlocking Hades mode more fun by reducing the number of requires bunnies to 1, but also forcing the player to actually play tag instead of having allies play tag together.
  • Fixed a bug where using gamepad and arrow keys would not switch between the game's modegroups correctly. This was because I had it still programmed to the old layout.
  • Disabled arrows keys from shaking the screen on "Final Battle!". This was in the game during testing and I forgot to enable it only for devmode.
  • Fixed a bug where the final cut scene was not marked as completed if you came from "Final Battle!"
  • Got rid of poison drip to come out of floating arrows (arrows sticking inside of people). This could lag the game, especially noticeable with the new unlimited arrows buff.

Patch Notes - 2019.07.21

This patch alters the existing content and gets things ready for the upcoming patches. Because of this, it has broken the save files and they will reset. The next patch will fix some bugs.

  • Added Discord Emojis
  • Added Jim Bob Easter Egg
  • Created the IMDB page
  • Fixed Alt + Tab bug, where you'd press Alt+Tab would cause the game to still think the Alt key was pressed down. Causing Enter or F4 to be the same as Alt+Enter and Alt+F4
  • Gave a white highlight to the hydra base to make it easier to figure out for new players.
  • Altered New Game+ modes. Chaos is now 2nd, then Hades, then Mount Olympus.
  • Mount Olympus is now forced into Very Hard difficulty
  • Added a "Randomize Character" checkbox on Chaos and Hades modes for after you beat those modes.
  • Added an Unlimited Arrows buff that gets unlocked after beating Chaos mode. However, I did not do artwork for it, yet. So, the artwork is temporary and will be improved in a future patch.
