What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“In it's current form, Terrorarium is limited to it's Maker Mode, a robust level creator with a rich library of assets to pull from. We wanted to make this available for players to begin creating and sharing levels with each other while work on the rest of the game continues.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate that it will be in early access for 6 months to a year, but that timeline is flexible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The biggest addition that we plan to make is the narrative/campaign version of the game, which will include several bespoke levels and the gardener's full back story. We also plan to add even more assets, with more options for customization, as well as pre-built levels for players to explore and edit.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now the game is focused on our Maker Mode, which will continue to grow as we add features and levels.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We anticipate that the price will increase when we release the full version, so grab it now while you can! Supporting Terrorarium early entitles you to every update we release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are so eager for players to build and share levels in Maker Mode, and will boost the best and most creative levels to our community platforms. We are eager for streamers to show their creative process and will host them on our Twitch stream. We are eager for player feedback and will always be listening for ways to improve, and will do our best to incorporate that into future versions of Terrorarium.”

Version 1.2.4 released

New Feature:
  • Maker Mode levels now have thumbnails
  • When the maker mode level is saved a screen capture will be saved.
  • When browsing your maker mode levels in the offline level select you will be able to see your preview thumbnail on the left hand side.
  • When a level is uploaded to Steam, the Steam Workshop item will receive the image as a thumbnail
  • Please note that levels created with previous versions of Terrorarium will need to be edited and saved again to create the screenshot
  • Publishing updates to a level now updates the Steam Workshop item instead of creating a duplicate.
  • Please note that levels published with prior versions of Terrorarium will need to be re-published to Steam Workshop one more time
Gameplay Improvements
  • Made an improvement to the Beckon ability. Beckon now wakes Moogu up from any state and calls them to the player much faster.
  • Revisions to the force field impacts sounds.
Major Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when beating or losing level 15.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Moogu that died in the air to leave floating corpses. Corpses will now fall to the ground where they can be interacted with.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the Gassy Moogu jump ability to leave a big weird Moogu-centipede thingy on screen and also prevented the player from completing a level.
Minor Bug Fixes
  • Backspace key can no longer be used to exit out of menus. Now the player can delete characters in the description of the publish level form.
  • Fixed a bug where the player could spawn multiple Gassy Moogu jump balloons at the same time.

About This Game

Terrorarium is a game about wanton destruction and adorable gore in player-made murder gardens.

In Maker Mode, you can choose from over a hundred unique assets, including: vicious creatures, treacherous hazards, plant monsters, lovely foliage and destructible terrain. With these moveable, scalable, customizeable assets, you can create a beautiful garden, a deadly maze or a murderous gauntlet. In Quick Play Mode, play through the levels you have built as the Gardener, a feisty granny with a chip on her shoulder, and her army of adorable, expendable Moogu. The Moogu will die frequently, breed out of control, and are often as insufferable as they are useful. You can also share the levels you build with your friends and frenemies, so they too may see the horrors your have wrought.

Terrorarium is in Early Access with new features and assets coming down the pipe!

Terrorarium is made with the generous support of the Canada Media Fund, Ontario Creates and the Games Institute.
