END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR DUB NIGHT LIVE
Last updated: 2026-08-19
1. ABOUT THIS AGREEMENT
This agreement is between you and Enes Kaplan, an individual developer based
in Turkiye ("the Developer", "I"). It covers the game Dub Night Live ("the
Game"). By installing or playing the Game you accept this agreement. If you
do not accept it, do not install or play the Game.
This agreement works alongside the Steam Subscriber Agreement and the Steam
Workshop terms. Nothing here limits or replaces your rights and obligations
toward Valve, and nothing here limits any consumer rights that the law of
your country grants you and that cannot be waived by contract.
2. DEFINITIONS
"User Content" means anything players create, import or upload in connection
with the Game: video clips, audio, backing tracks, subtitles, line timings,
character names, portraits, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags,
playlists, and published performances.
"Performance" means a voice recording you make with your microphone inside
the Game.
"Workshop" means Steam Workshop, the sharing service operated by Valve where
User Content for the Game is published, stored and downloaded.
3. YOUR LICENSE TO PLAY
The Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable,
revocable license to install and play the Game for personal, non-commercial
entertainment on hardware you control, as long as you comply with this
agreement and the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
You may not: sell, rent or redistribute the Game; remove copyright notices;
use the Game to develop a competing dataset or train machine learning systems
on the Game's assets; or bypass technical protections. Streaming, recording
and publishing videos of your own gameplay is welcome and does not require
permission.
Reverse engineering is not permitted except to the extent a law that applies
to you expressly allows it despite this clause.
4. USER CONTENT: THE IMPORTANT PART
The Game ships with no built-in clip library. All clips are made by players
with the in-game editor and shared through the Workshop. That only works if
everyone follows these rules.
4.1. You are responsible for what you upload. By publishing User Content you
declare that you own the necessary rights to it, or have permission from the
rights holder, or that your use is permitted by an exception under applicable
law. Uploading someone else's copyrighted video, audio or artwork without
such a basis is a violation of this agreement, of the Steam Workshop terms,
and possibly of the law.
4.2. Prohibited content. Do not upload content that: infringes intellectual
property or personality rights; is illegal where you live or where it is
reasonably expected to be downloaded; sexualizes minors in any way; contains
credible threats, doxxing or harassment of real people; or is deliberately
mislabeled (for example adult content without the 18+ tag). Content rated
16+ or 18+ must carry the matching age tag.
4.3. Mods are data only. The Game loads only media and metadata files from
the Workshop and never executes code from them. Attempting to hide
executable content inside User Content is prohibited.
4.4. License you grant. You keep ownership of your own original
contributions (for example your voice Performance and your editing work).
So that the Game can function, you grant the Developer and other players of
the Game a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to download,
store, display and play your published User Content inside the Game and in
connection with it (for example in Workshop listings, in parties and in
premieres). This license ends for future distribution when you delete the
item from the Workshop, but copies already downloaded by other players may
persist on their machines. This is in addition to, not instead of, the
license you grant Valve under the Steam Workshop terms.
4.5. Moderation. The Developer may remove, hide or block any User Content
from the Game at any time, in particular content reported as infringing or
content that violates section 4.2, and is not obliged to pre-screen content.
5. COPYRIGHT COMPLAINTS AND REPEAT INFRINGERS
If you believe content available through the Game infringes your rights,
send a notice to dubnightlive@gmail.com with: (a) identification of the
protected work, (b) a link to or identification of the infringing Workshop
item, (c) your contact information, (d) a good-faith statement that the use
is not authorized by you or the law, and (e) a statement that your notice is
accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
For content hosted on Steam Workshop you may also, or instead, use Valve's
own copyright complaint process.
The Developer responds to valid notices by removing or blocking the reported
content from the Game. Players who repeatedly infringe will have their
content blocked from appearing in the Game.
6. VOICE RECORDINGS AND YOUR DATA
The Game records your voice only when you press record, and your microphone
recordings are stored locally on your own computer. They leave your machine
in exactly two cases: when you yourself publish a performance or clip to the
Workshop, and, in online parties, when your recorded takes and live voice
chat are transmitted to the other members of your party through Steam's
peer-to-peer networking.
The Developer operates no servers, no accounts and no analytics. The Game
sends the Developer no telemetry, and the Developer never receives your
recordings unless you publish them publicly on the Workshop. Data handled by
Steam (your Steam profile, Workshop storage, Steam Cloud, voice packets
relayed over Steam networking) is processed by Valve under Valve's privacy
policy.
Recordings you make may contain the voices of people near your microphone.
Only record people who agree to be recorded; the laws on recording other
people vary by country and are your responsibility.
7. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS AND OPTIONAL DOWNLOADS
The Game includes third-party open-source components (including Electron,
Chromium and FFmpeg) which are licensed under their own terms; the relevant
notices are distributed with the Game.
The clip editor offers an optional voice separation feature. If you choose
to enable it, the Game downloads, with your explicit confirmation, a
third-party separation engine and model (approximately 2.5 GB) from public
package repositories onto your machine. That software is not part of the
Game and comes under its own licenses. The feature is optional; the Game
works without it.
8. AGE
You must meet the minimum age required by the Steam Subscriber Agreement in
your country. The Game is intended for players aged 16 and over. Community
content is made by players; an age-tag filter exists, but the Developer
cannot guarantee that every item is labeled correctly.
9. UPDATES AND CHANGES
The Game may be updated to fix bugs, change features or address legal and
security issues. This agreement may also be updated; material changes will
be announced on the Game's Steam page and shown for acceptance where
required. Continued play after a non-material change means acceptance. If
you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop playing.
10. NO WARRANTY
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any
kind beyond those the law requires. In particular the Developer does not
warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any given
Workshop item will remain available, or that community content is accurate,
lawful or correctly labeled. Statutory warranty rights that apply to
consumers in your country remain unaffected.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for indirect or
consequential damages, loss of data, or damages caused by User Content
created by other players, and the Developer's total liability under this
agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the Game in the twelve
months before the claim arose. Nothing in this section excludes liability
for intent, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded
under the law that applies to you.
12. INDEMNIFICATION
If a third party brings a claim against the Developer because User Content
you published infringed their rights, or because you intentionally violated
this agreement, you agree to compensate the Developer for the direct damages
and reasonable costs resulting from that claim, except where the consumer
law of your country does not permit such an obligation.
13. TERMINATION
This agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if
you materially breach it, in particular sections 3 and 4. The Developer may
also block your User Content from the Game under section 5. Termination of
this agreement does not affect your ownership of your Steam account or your
relationship with Valve. Sections 4.4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 15 survive
termination.
14. ENTIRE AGREEMENT AND SEVERABILITY
This agreement, together with the Steam Subscriber Agreement and the Steam
Workshop terms, is the entire agreement about the Game. If a provision of
this agreement is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
15. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkiye. If you
are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer
protection rules of the country where you live, and you may bring or defend
claims in your local courts where the law gives you that right. Before any
formal step, please write to dubnightlive@gmail.com; most problems can be
solved directly.
