BLINDFOLD: Hide and Seek End User License Agreement
Effective Date: August 4, 2026Article 0. Language and Translation
This Agreement may be provided in both Korean and English. Although the language versions are intended to be substantially equivalent, differences in wording or interpretation may arise during translation. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Korean version shall prevail in the event of any inconsistency between the language versions.Article 1. Purpose and Contracting Parties
This End User License Agreement (the “Agreement”) governs the use of BLINDFOLD: Hide and Seek (the “Game”) and is entered into between the person who installs, accesses, or uses the Game (the “User”) and HIGHTALE (the “Developer”).By installing, launching, accessing, or using the Game, the User agrees to be bound by this Agreement. If the User does not agree to this Agreement, the User must not install or use the Game.
Article 2. Definitions
- Game means BLINDFOLD: Hide and Seek, including any updates, patches, or additional components developed or distributed by the Developer.
- Steam Account means a user account created and managed through Steam by Valve Corporation.
- Game Content means all software, graphics, characters, animations, music, sound effects, documents, scripts, maps, items, and other elements included in the Game.
- Cheating means modifying software or data, using unauthorized programs, intentionally exploiting errors or vulnerabilities, or otherwise interfering with the normal operation or fair play of the Game.
- Integrity Module means the Nightrol™ module used to verify whether Game save data has been corrupted or modified without authorization.
Article 3. Grant of License
- Subject to compliance with this Agreement and the applicable Steam terms, the Developer grants the User a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Game for personal and non-commercial purposes.
- The User may not copy, distribute, sell, resell, rent, lease, transfer, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Game or any Game Content without the Developer’s prior written permission.
- Except where expressly permitted by applicable law, the User may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to extract source code from, or otherwise modify the Game.
- If the User materially violates this Agreement, the Developer may restrict access to the Game or its online features to the extent permitted by applicable law and Steam policies.
Article 4. Gameplay Videos and Streaming
- The User may record or livestream gameplay footage from the Game.
- The User may earn advertising revenue, sponsorship revenue, or donations through platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and similar services.
- The following activities are not permitted:
- Extracting and distributing Game files or Game Content as a separate product.
- Selling the Game’s music, graphics, characters, or other content as standalone products.
- Representing that a video, product, or service was officially produced, approved, or endorsed by the Developer when it was not.
- Infringing the copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights of a third party.
Article 5. Prohibition on Resale and Account-Playing Services
Except where permitted by Steam policies or with the Developer’s prior written permission, the User may not sell, resell, rent, lease, or transfer the Game license, a Steam Account, or access to the Game. The User may not receive compensation from another person in exchange for playing on that person’s account, manipulating account progress, or providing a similar account-playing service.Article 6. Steam Account Management
- Steam Account creation, login, payment processing, and basic account management are handled through Steam and Valve Corporation.
- The User must comply with the Steam Subscriber Agreement and other applicable Steam policies.
- The User is responsible for protecting the security and confidentiality of the User’s login credentials and password.
- Except through features officially permitted by Valve Corporation, the User may not sell or transfer a Steam Account, password, or Game license to another person.
- If unauthorized access or a security breach is suspected, the User should promptly contact Steam Support.
Article 7. Prohibited Cheating and Service Interference
The User must not engage in any of the following activities:- Using cheat software, hacks, bots, or unauthorized automation programs.
- Modifying Game files, save data, memory, or network data for an improper purpose.
- Intentionally exploiting errors, vulnerabilities, or unintended Game behavior.
- Interfering with another User’s normal use or enjoyment of the Game.
- Disrupting servers, matchmaking, networking, or other online features.
- Developing, distributing, advertising, or selling cheating methods or cheating software.
Article 8. Nightrol™ Data Integrity Module
- The Game may use the Nightrol™ Data Integrity Module to identify corrupted save data or unauthorized modifications to save data.
- The Integrity Module may examine save files and related configuration files created or used by the Game.
- If save data is corrupted or does not conform to the expected format, the Game may refuse to load the data, restore an available backup, or reset some Game data.
- The Integrity Module does not inspect files belonging to unrelated applications, operating-system files, kernel-level data, or personal information unrelated to the Game.
- The Integrity Module does not install a separate kernel-level driver.
Article 9. Save Data
- Game data may be stored on the User’s device or through Steam Cloud.
- Data may be lost or damaged due to device failure, cloud synchronization conflicts, file corruption, manual modification by the User, software errors, or circumstances beyond the Developer’s reasonable control.
- The Developer will take reasonable measures to reduce the risk of data loss but does not guarantee that all data will always be preserved or recoverable.
- The User is responsible for maintaining backups of data that the User considers important, where backup functionality is available.
Article 10. Refunds
- Purchases and refund requests made through Steam are governed by the current Steam Refund Policy.
- Valve Corporation determines and processes refund eligibility, refund methods, and processing times.
- Nothing in this Agreement limits any mandatory consumer rights available to the User under applicable law.
Article 11. Privacy and Online Data
- Information relating to Steam Accounts, payments, and Steam services is processed according to the policies of Valve Corporation.
- To provide online features, the Game may process information such as a Steam identifier, display name, Game session information, connection records, and error logs.
- Additional information regarding personal data processed by the Developer, the purposes of processing, retention periods, and the User’s rights will be provided in a separate Privacy Policy.
Article 12. Copyright and Intellectual Property
- All copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Game and Game Content belong to the Developer or the applicable lawful rights holder.
- Purchasing or using the Game does not transfer ownership of the Game, Game Content, copyright, or other intellectual property rights to the User.
- Except for gameplay videos and streaming permitted under Article 4, the User may not copy, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit Game Content without authorization from the Developer.
- Third-party content included in the Game may be subject to separate terms established by the relevant rights holder.
Article 13. Updates and Online Services
- The Developer may update the Game or modify certain features when reasonably necessary for stability, security, content development, or operation of the Game.
- Some or all online services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical problems, or circumstances beyond the Developer’s reasonable control.
- The Developer will make reasonable efforts to minimize unnecessary interruptions to the Game’s services.
Article 14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Game is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
- The Developer does not guarantee that the Game will operate without errors on every device or that online services will always be available without interruption.
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer may limit liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, or unforeseeable damages.
- Nothing in this Article excludes or limits liability arising from intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Article 15. Changes to This Agreement
- The Developer may reasonably revise this Agreement in response to changes in applicable law, Game functionality, security requirements, or service operations.
- Material changes affecting the User will be announced before they take effect through the Game, Steam announcements, or another appropriate method.
- Where separate consent is required by applicable law, the Developer will obtain the User’s consent before applying the relevant change.
Article 16. Termination
- The User may terminate use of the Game by uninstalling the Game and discontinuing its use.
- If the User materially violates this Agreement, the Developer may restrict the User’s access to online features to the extent permitted by applicable law and Steam policies.
- Provisions concerning intellectual property, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution will survive termination to the extent necessary according to their nature.
Article 17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- If a dispute arises, the User and the Developer will first make reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute through mutual consultation.
- Any dispute that cannot be resolved through consultation will be handled by a court having jurisdiction under the applicable laws and civil procedure rules of the Republic of Korea.
- Nothing in this Article limits any mandatory consumer-protection law or jurisdiction rule applicable in the User’s country of residence.
