TimeslotTV (Steam Edition) — End User License Agreement

Please read this End User License Agreement ("Agreement") carefully before installing or using TimeslotTV. By installing, copying, or otherwise using TimeslotTV, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
This Agreement applies to the version of TimeslotTV distributed through Valve's Steam platform ("Steam"). Your use of Steam itself is governed separately by the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Valve Corporation is not a party to this Agreement and has no obligations to you under it.
1. Parties
This Agreement is between you ("User" or "you") and Couchlight LLC, a limited liability company ("Couchlight," "we," or "us"), the developer and distributor of TimeslotTV.2. Grant of License
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and maintaining an active, valid license to TimeslotTV on your Steam account, Couchlight grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to:- Install and use TimeslotTV on any devices where you are logged into Steam with an account holding a valid license for TimeslotTV, subject to Steam's own device and simultaneous-use rules (including Steam Family Sharing, where applicable); and
- Use the software solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, unless a separate commercial license has been obtained from Couchlight.
3. License
TimeslotTV (Steam Edition) is a single, fully unlocked product. There are no separate free, Standard, or Premium tiers, and no feature-gated purchases within the application. All features are available to any user with a valid Steam license for TimeslotTV.Your license is tied to your Steam account and is validated through Steam's ownership and entitlement system. Couchlight does not issue separate license keys for the Steam Edition, and no Couchlight account or online activation with Couchlight's servers is required.
4. Restrictions
You may not:(a) Copy, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or lend the software or your Steam license to any third party, except as expressly permitted by Steam (e.g., Steam Family Sharing);
(b) Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of TimeslotTV, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this restriction;
(c) Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on TimeslotTV;
(d) Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the software;
(e) Use TimeslotTV to play, organize, or facilitate access to media files that you do not have the legal right to use, reproduce, or display;
(f) Use TimeslotTV in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation, or Steam's own terms of service;
(g) Attempt to circumvent Steam's license validation, DRM, or ownership checks used by TimeslotTV;
(h) Use TimeslotTV in a commercial context (e.g., public display, commercial venue, trade show, or as part of a paid service) without obtaining a separate commercial license from Couchlight.
5. User-Supplied Content
TimeslotTV is a local media player. It does not provide, stream, host, or distribute any media content. All video, audio, and other media files played through TimeslotTV are supplied entirely by you.You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use, play, and organize any media files you access through TimeslotTV. Couchlight is not responsible and will not be held liable for any copyright infringement or other violation of third-party rights arising from your use of media files within the application.
6. Intellectual Property
TimeslotTV, including its code, interface, design, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Couchlight LLC and is protected by copyright law and other intellectual property laws. This Agreement does not transfer any ownership rights to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Couchlight.6.1 Open Source Components
TimeslotTV bundles or optionally integrates certain open-source libraries. Those components are licensed under their respective open-source licenses (LGPL, BSD, etc.) as listed in "LICENSE_DISCLOSURE.md" and the "licenses/" folder included with the application. Your rights with respect to those components are governed by those licenses, not this Agreement.7. License Validation
TimeslotTV verifies that you hold a valid Steam license for the software using the Steamworks API at startup. This check relies on your active Steam login and Steam's own offline/cached-credential behavior; Couchlight does not operate a separate license server for the Steam Edition and does not independently track or limit the number of devices you install TimeslotTV on.If Steam is unable to verify your license (for example, because you do not own the product on the logged-in Steam account), TimeslotTV will not run.
Couchlight reserves the right to notify Valve of, or otherwise respond to, license misuse in accordance with Steam's policies.
8. Updates and Support
Couchlight may, at its discretion, provide updates, patches, or new versions of TimeslotTV through Steam. Such updates may be subject to additional or updated terms. Couchlight has no obligation to provide updates, maintenance, technical support, or new features.9. Privacy
Your use of TimeslotTV is also governed by the TimeslotTV Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference. Please review the Privacy Policy to understand what data is collected and how it is used. Your use of Steam is additionally governed by Valve's own privacy policy.10. Refunds
Purchases of TimeslotTV made through Steam are subject to Steam's refund policy, not a separate policy from Couchlight. Refund requests should be submitted through Steam.11. Disclaimer of Warranties
TimeslotTV is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Couchlight disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Couchlight does not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or compatible with your hardware or operating system.12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Couchlight LLC, its officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use TimeslotTV, even if Couchlight has been advised of the possibility of such damages.In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, Couchlight's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
In any case, Couchlight's total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under this Agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid for TimeslotTV on Steam, or USD $10.00, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Couchlight LLC and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use or misuse of TimeslotTV; (b) your violation of this Agreement; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) your infringement of any third-party right, including intellectual property rights, in connection with media files or other content you access, use, or organize within the application.14. Termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this Agreement will terminate automatically, without notice, if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement, or if your underlying Steam license for TimeslotTV is revoked or refunded. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of TimeslotTV and destroy all copies in your possession. Sections 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 survive termination.15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in this Agreement affects any separate dispute resolution terms between you and Valve under the Steam Subscriber Agreement.16. General
- Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Couchlight with respect to TimeslotTV and supersedes all prior agreements. It does not modify or supersede the Steam Subscriber Agreement, which governs your relationship with Valve.
- Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- No Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of Couchlight's right to enforce it in the future.
- No Third-Party Beneficiaries. This Agreement is for the sole benefit of you and Couchlight. Nothing in this Agreement, express or implied, is intended to confer any rights or remedies on any other person, including Valve.
- Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement or any rights under it without Couchlight's prior written consent. Couchlight may assign this Agreement freely.
