TimeslotTV — End User License Agreement

COUCHLIGHT LLC
Last updated: August 24, 2026
EULA-Version: 2

Please read this End User License Agreement ("Agreement") carefully before installing or using TimeslotTV. By installing, copying, or otherwise using TimeslotTV, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

TimeslotTV is distributed through several storefronts. The general terms below apply to every copy of TimeslotTV. Section 3 (Storefront-Specific Terms) then sets out the additional terms that apply based on where you obtained the software — a direct purchase or download from Couchlight, Valve's Steam platform, the Microsoft Store, or the Apple Mac App Store. Where a term in Section 3 conflicts with a general term, the Storefront-Specific Term controls for that storefront.

The operators of those storefronts (Valve, Microsoft, and Apple) are not parties to this Agreement. Your use of each storefront is separately governed by that storefront's own agreements, which this Agreement references but does not supersede (see Section 3).

1. Parties

This Agreement is between you ("User" or "you") and Couchlight LLC, a limited liability company ("Couchlight," "we," or "us"), the developer and distributor of TimeslotTV.

2. Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and to any storefront-specific conditions in Section 3, Couchlight grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to:

  • Install and use TimeslotTV on the devices permitted for your storefront (see Section 3); and
  • Use the software solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, unless a separate commercial license has been obtained from Couchlight.

3. Storefront-Specific Terms

The subsection that applies to you depends on where you obtained TimeslotTV. In case of any conflict between this Section 3 and the general terms of this Agreement, this Section 3 controls for your storefront.

3.1 Direct purchase or download (timeslot.tv or the app)

Applies when you download TimeslotTV from Couchlight (for example, from timeslot.tv) or purchase a license directly from Couchlight.

  • The product and your license. TimeslotTV is offered as one product. Using it requires a valid license, which you obtain by purchasing through our payment processor (see below) and activating ("registering") it in the application. A registered license is valid on one (1) device that you personally own or control, is tied to your account and machine identifiers for activation, and is non-transferable — it may not be resold, gifted, or shared. It remains valid for the version(s) purchased; upgrade terms, if any, will be announced separately.
  • Unregistered mode. Until a valid license is registered, TimeslotTV runs in an Unregistered mode with limited functionality. Unregistered mode exists to allow installation and registration; it is not a trial or a grant of any license, and continued use in Unregistered mode confers no license and does not waive any restriction in this Agreement.
  • Purchases and license issuance. Purchases and license keys are processed and issued through our third-party payment and licensing provider, Polar.sh. Polar.sh's own terms and disclosures apply to the purchase and to the license-key checks it performs; see the Privacy Policy for what data is involved.
  • License validation. Registered licenses require online activation. The application communicates with Couchlight's servers (and/or Polar.sh's license service) to activate a license key on a device, periodically validate the license on startup, and deactivate a license from a device. If those servers are unreachable after a grace period, the application reverts to Unregistered mode until connectivity is restored and the license is re-validated. Couchlight may revoke a license key it determines has been shared, transferred, or used in violation of this Agreement.
  • Refunds. Refunds for direct purchases are handled by Couchlight through Polar.sh in accordance with the refund terms presented at purchase.
  • Dispute resolution. Governed by Section 13.

3.2 Steam (Valve)

Applies to the version of TimeslotTV distributed through Valve's Steam platform ("Steam"). Valve Corporation is not a party to this Agreement. Your use of Steam is separately governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

  • Edition. Ownership through Steam entitles you to TimeslotTV under the terms of this subsection.
  • Demo. A free demo of TimeslotTV may be offered on Steam. The demo provides limited access to the software so you can evaluate it before purchasing, and is not a license to the full product. The terms of this Agreement apply to your use of the demo.
  • Devices. Install and use on any device where you are signed in to Steam with an account holding a valid license for TimeslotTV, subject to Steam's own device and simultaneous-use rules (including Steam Family Sharing, where applicable).
  • License validation. License validation is performed by Steam. If Steam cannot verify your license, TimeslotTV will not run.
  • Refunds. Purchases are subject to Steam's refund policy, not a separate Couchlight policy. Refund requests should be submitted through Steam.
  • Dispute resolution. Governed by Section 13. This does not affect any separate dispute-resolution terms between you and Valve under the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

3.3 Microsoft Store

Applies to the version of TimeslotTV distributed through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft Corporation is not a party to this Agreement. Your use of the Microsoft Store is separately governed by the Microsoft Store Terms of Sale and the Microsoft Services Agreement.

  • Edition. Ownership through the Microsoft Store entitles you to TimeslotTV under the terms of this subsection.
  • Devices. Install and use on any device where you are signed in with a Microsoft account holding a valid license for TimeslotTV, subject to the Microsoft Store's own device and simultaneous-use rules (including any applicable Microsoft family-sharing features).
  • License validation. License validation is performed by the Microsoft Store. If the Microsoft Store cannot verify your license, TimeslotTV may not run.
  • Refunds. Purchases are subject to Microsoft's refund policy, not a separate Couchlight policy. Refund requests should be submitted through the Microsoft Store.
  • Dispute resolution. Governed by Section 13. This does not affect any separate dispute-resolution terms between you and Microsoft under the Microsoft Services Agreement.

3.4 Apple Mac App Store

Applies to the version of TimeslotTV distributed through the Apple Mac App Store. This subsection is required by Apple and, to the extent it conflicts with any other term of this Agreement, controls for App Store users.

  • Edition. Obtaining TimeslotTV from the Mac App Store entitles you to it under the terms of this subsection.
  • Scope of license. The license granted is limited to a non-transferable license to use TimeslotTV on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (the "Usage Rules"), except that TimeslotTV may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • License validation. Entitlement is handled by Apple through the App Store (App Store receipt).
  • Refunds. Purchases are subject to Apple's refund policy. Refund requests should be submitted through Apple.
  • Apple is not responsible. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for TimeslotTV. Couchlight, not Apple, is solely responsible for TimeslotTV and its content, for any product warranties (whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed), for addressing any claims that TimeslotTV or your use of it fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and for addressing any third-party claim that TimeslotTV or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
  • Product claims and warranty. In the event of any failure of TimeslotTV to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to TimeslotTV.
  • Third-party beneficiary. You acknowledge that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement, and that upon your acceptance of this Agreement Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
  • Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Dispute resolution. Governed by Section 13.

4. Restrictions

You may not:

(a) Copy, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or lend the software or your license key or storefront license to any third party, except as expressly permitted by your storefront (e.g., Steam Family Sharing, Microsoft or Apple family sharing);

(b) Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of TimeslotTV, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this restriction;

(c) Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on TimeslotTV;

(d) Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the software;

(e) Use TimeslotTV to play, organize, or facilitate access to media files that you do not have the legal right to use, reproduce, or display;

(f) Use TimeslotTV in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation, or your storefront's own terms of service;

(g) Share, publish, or distribute your license key, or attempt to circumvent the license validation system;

(h) Use TimeslotTV in a commercial context (e.g., public display, commercial venue, trade show, or as part of a paid service) without obtaining a separate commercial license from Couchlight.

5. User-Supplied Content

TimeslotTV is a local media player. It does not provide, stream, host, or distribute any media content. All video, audio, and other media files played through TimeslotTV are supplied entirely by you.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use, play, and organize any media files you access through TimeslotTV. Couchlight is not responsible and will not be held liable for any copyright infringement or other violation of third-party rights arising from your use of media files within the application.

6. Intellectual Property

TimeslotTV, including its code, interface, design, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Couchlight LLC and is protected by copyright law and other intellectual property laws. This Agreement does not transfer any ownership rights to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Couchlight.

6.1 Open Source Components

TimeslotTV bundles or optionally integrates certain open-source libraries. Those components are licensed under their respective open-source licenses as listed in
LICENSE_DISCLOSURE.md
and the licenses folder included with the application. Your rights with respect to those components are governed by those licenses, not this Agreement.

7. Updates and Support

Couchlight may, at its discretion, provide updates, patches, or new versions of TimeslotTV — through your storefront where the storefront distributes updates (Steam, Microsoft Store, and Mac App Store ship their own updates), or directly for the direct edition. Such updates may be subject to additional or updated terms. Couchlight has no obligation to provide updates, maintenance, technical support, or new features.

8. Privacy

Your use of TimeslotTV is also governed by the TimeslotTV Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference. The Privacy Policy explains, per storefront, what data is collected and how it is used. Your use of a storefront is additionally governed by that storefront operator's own privacy policy (Valve, Microsoft, or Apple).

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

TimeslotTV is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Couchlight disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Couchlight does not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or compatible with your hardware or operating system.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Couchlight LLC, its officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use TimeslotTV, even if Couchlight has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, Couchlight's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

In any case, Couchlight's total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under this Agreement shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for TimeslotTV (including any license) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $10.00.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Couchlight LLC and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use or misuse of TimeslotTV; (b) your violation of this Agreement; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) your infringement of any third-party right, including intellectual property rights, in connection with media files or other content you access, use, or organize within the application.

12. Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this Agreement will terminate automatically, without notice, if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement, or if your underlying storefront license for TimeslotTV is revoked or refunded. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of TimeslotTV and destroy all copies in your possession. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Binding Arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. The arbitration shall take place in Orange County, California, or via videoconference if agreed by both parties.

Class Action Waiver. You and Couchlight agree that any arbitration or claim shall be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as a class, collective, or representative action.

This section does not affect any separate dispute-resolution terms between you and a storefront operator (Valve, Microsoft, or Apple) under that storefront's own agreements.

14. General

  • Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Couchlight with respect to TimeslotTV and supersedes all prior agreements between you and Couchlight. It does not modify the separate agreements between you and any storefront operator (the Steam Subscriber Agreement, the Microsoft Services Agreement / Microsoft Store Terms of Sale, or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions).
  • Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
  • No Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of Couchlight's right to enforce it in the future.
  • No Third-Party Beneficiaries. Except for Apple and its subsidiaries as provided in Section 3.4, this Agreement is for the sole benefit of you and Couchlight, and nothing in it is intended to confer any rights or remedies on any other person, including Valve or Microsoft.
  • Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement or any rights under it without Couchlight's prior written consent. Couchlight may assign this Agreement freely.
  • Contact. Questions about this Agreement may be directed to: legal@couchlight.com
