BORE - END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
Last updated: 2026-08-19 (v1.1)
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you and Bavel ("the
Developer") and governs your use of the game BORE, including all updates,
patches, and related content ("the Game").
By installing or playing the Game you accept this Agreement. If you do not
agree, do not install or play the Game.
The Game is distributed via Steam. The Steam Subscriber Agreement and Valve's
policies also apply to your use of Steam; purchases and refunds are handled by
Valve under the Steam refund policy.
1. LICENSE
The Developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable,
revocable license to install and play the Game on devices you own or control,
for private, non-commercial entertainment purposes. The Game is licensed to
you, not sold.
2. RESTRICTIONS
You may not: (a) copy, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute the Game
or any part of it; (b) extract, rip, or redistribute the Game's assets
(models, textures, audio, text) on a standalone basis; (c) reverse engineer,
decompile, or disassemble the Game except to the extent applicable law
expressly permits it despite this limitation; (d) use cheats, exploits,
automation software, or unauthorized modifications in ways that harm other
players' experience or the operation of the Game; (e) remove or alter any
copyright or other proprietary notices.
3. MULTIPLAYER AND CONDUCT
The Game is an online co-operative game. When you play online you interact
with other real people, including through voice chat, and the Developer does
not control and is not responsible for their conduct or communications. Do not
harass or abuse other players and do not disrupt their play. The host of an
online session may remove (kick or ban) any player from that session at their
discretion.
4. VOICE CHAT AND THE VOICE-MIMIC FEATURE
Voice chat is transmitted peer-to-peer via Steam to the other players in your
session. In addition, as a gameplay feature, the Game keeps a rolling copy of
the last few seconds of voice chat received from teammates in memory on each
player's own machine, so that an in-game creature can imitate crew voices.
This audio stays on the machine that heard it; it is never written to disk,
never transmitted to the Developer or to any server, is continuously
overwritten during play, and is discarded when the session ends. You can mute
your microphone at any time in the settings menu, and the Game is fully
playable without a microphone.
5. ONLINE SERVICES AND DATA
Steam platform features (matchmaking, invites, achievements, cloud saves,
rich presence) are operated by Valve under Valve's own terms and privacy
policy. The Developer may offer additional online services such as
leaderboards or daily challenge seeds. If you use them, pseudonymous data
(your Steam ID, public display name, game version, and run results/scores)
may be processed by the Developer solely to operate those services. The
Developer does not otherwise collect personal data through the Game. Online
services may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
6. UPDATES
The Game receives ongoing development and updates. Content, features, and
balance may change, be added, or be removed; save data may occasionally be reset or become
incompatible between versions. Updates may be installed automatically through
Steam.
7. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
BORE uses Unreal(R) Engine. Unreal(R) is a trademark or registered trademark
of Epic Games, Inc. in the United States of America and elsewhere. Unreal(R)
Engine, Copyright 1998 - 2026, Epic Games, Inc. All rights reserved. The Game
also includes licensed third-party assets and software components; required
attribution notices are provided in the Game's credits and/or documentation
distributed with the Game.
8. NO WARRANTY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Game is provided
"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", with all faults and without warranty of any kind,
express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Developer does not warrant that
the Game will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: the Developer will not be
liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive
damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or
relating to the Game; and the Developer's total liability for all claims
relating to the Game will not exceed the amount you paid for the Game. Some
jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits,
so parts of Sections 8 and 9 may not apply to you. Nothing in this Agreement
limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you hold.
10. TERMINATION
This license ends automatically if you materially breach this Agreement. On
termination you must stop playing and uninstall the Game. Sections 2 and 7
through 12 survive termination.
11. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT
The Developer may update this Agreement, for example when new features change
how the Game works. Updated terms will be presented via Steam, and continuing
to play after they take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. GENERAL
If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable, the remainder stays
in effect. This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and the
Developer regarding the Game and does not modify the Steam Subscriber
Agreement.
13. CONTACT
Questions about the Game or this Agreement: use the BORE community hub on
Steam or the support contact listed on the Game's Steam store page.
