2. Optional Online Services
This game may optionally connect to third-party services (LLM API providers). Connecting to these services is entirely optional and the game can be used without them. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party service. Use of these services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and conditions.
3. Content Guardrails
The generated story content and your inputs are always processed through a set of content guardrails to prevent clearly unsafe material — this applies regardless of whether a local or third-party LLM is used. These guardrails cover eight categories: minor exploitation, hate speech, self-harm encouragement, realistic gore, graphic death detail, suicide depiction, illegal activity, and adult-only sexual content.
The guardrails are designed not to interfere with safe fantasy themes, fictional conflict, villainy, romance, dark or emotional storytelling, or ambiguous wording — they block only clearly unsafe content.
Guardrails operate at multiple stages: when adventure content is created, when characters are generated, when you issue instructions during play, and when the story is narrated. The same policy is applied consistently throughout.
Third-party LLM providers may have their own content filters running independently of ours — these are outside our control.
4. Generated Content & Model Licenses
Content generated by the LLM during play is the output of an automated system. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any generated content complies with applicable law and with the terms of your LLM provider. The game does not claim ownership over generated content, nor do we warrant its accuracy, originality, or legality.
If you use a local LLM model, you are responsible for complying with that model's license. Some models carry usage restrictions (e.g., non-commercial only, attribution required). These restrictions are between you and the model provider — the game does not enforce or verify compliance.
5. Privacy Statement
This is a single-player offline game. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data — no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reports.
If you choose to configure the game to use a third-party LLM API provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), user-generated content (your prompts, story text, and the LLM's responses) is transmitted to that provider over the internet. This data processing is between you and the provider — we are not affiliated with any provider and do not process or store the API traffic beyond the duration of each request.
By using an LLM API, you agree to the provider's own terms of service and privacy policy, which govern how they handle your data. We recommend reviewing these policies before use.
6. Open-Source Licenses
This game incorporates open-source software components. The full license texts of all third-party libraries and dependencies are shipped with the program files in the distribution package.
7. Photosensitive Warning
A very small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights. Exposure to certain patterns or backgrounds on a computer screen, or while playing video games, may induce an epileptic seizure in these individuals. Certain conditions may induce previously undetected epileptic symptoms even in persons who have no history of prior seizures or epilepsy.
If you, or anyone in your family, have an epileptic condition, consult your physician prior to playing. If you experience any of the following symptoms while playing a video or computer game -- dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, disorientation, any involuntary movement, or convulsions -- IMMEDIATELY discontinue use and consult your physician before resuming play.
