PRIVACY POLICY
Your Screen Friend
Last updated: June 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled when you use the
application "Your Screen Friend" (the "Software"). It is written to comply with
the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection
law. Because the provider is based in Germany and the Software is available
internationally, this policy applies to all users.
Please read it together with the End User License Agreement (EULA) and the Legal
Notice (Impressum) for the Software.
1. CONTROLLER
The controller responsible for data processing in connection with the Software is:
Sven Wolfgang Binder
Binder E-Commerce (sole proprietorship)
Oskar-Loew-Strasse 3
95615 Marktredwitz
Bavaria, Germany
Email: bindertraded@outlook.de
WhatsApp: +49 1520 2330396
2. KEY PRINCIPLE: NO PROVIDER SERVER, DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
The provider does NOT operate any server that collects, receives, or stores your
personal data. The Software runs locally on your computer. Data you create stays
on your device, except where the Software transmits it to the third-party services
you choose to use (see Section 4). The provider has no access to your microphone
audio, screen content, camera images, conversations, or locally stored files.
3. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
To work, the Software stores data only on your own computer, including:
- application settings and configuration;
- the buddy's "memory", personality data, diary entries, reminders, and
appointments you create;
- pet and care state;
- your own third-party API key, stored in encrypted form using the Windows Data
Protection API (DPAPI).
This data is not sent to the provider. You can delete it at any time using the
delete options in the Software's settings, or by uninstalling the Software.
4. DATA SENT TO THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
To provide its features, the Software connects directly from your device to
third-party services that you enable or use. These services are independent
controllers with their own privacy policies. Depending on the features you use,
the following data may be transmitted:
a) Google / Google AI ("Gemini")
Used for the AI companion (voice and text). When the microphone is active (not
muted, and, if Push-to-Talk is enabled, while you hold the key), audio is sent
to Google for processing. When you ask the buddy to look at your screen or use
screen related features, screenshots are sent. When you use the camera feature,
camera images are sent. Text and conversation content are also processed by
Google. You use the Software with your own Google Gemini API key, so this
processing takes place under your own account and Google's terms.
b) Twitch
In Streamer Mode, if you enter a channel name, the Software reads that channel's
public chat anonymously and read only (no login). Chat messages are processed
locally and may be summarized for you by the AI companion (in which case the
relevant text is sent to Google as described above).
c) Spotify (optional)
Only if you choose to connect Spotify. Authentication uses Spotify's standard
login (OAuth); the Software can then control playback. Your Spotify credentials
are handled by Spotify, not by the provider.
d) Microsoft / Windows
Speech output uses the local Windows speech engine (SAPI) on your device. No
text is sent to Microsoft for this purpose.
International transfer: Some of these services process data on servers outside the
EU/EEA, including in the United States. Such transfers are governed by the
respective service's own safeguards and terms.
5. THIRD-PARTY PRIVACY POLICIES
Please review the privacy policies of the services you use:
- Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/p/legal/privacy-notice/
- Spotify: https://www.spotify.com/legal/privacy-policy/
6. PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASES (GDPR ART. 6)
- Providing the features you request (voice chat, screen assistance, games,
streamer features): performance of a contract and/or your consent
(Art. 6(1)(b) and (a) GDPR).
- Access to microphone, screen, and camera: your consent, given by enabling and
using these features (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time
by disabling the feature, muting, or closing the Software.
- Storing settings and companion data locally: necessary to provide the Software
and/or your consent.
7. RETENTION AND DELETION
Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove it
through the Software's settings (delete options for memory, diary, personality,
and all data) or by uninstalling the Software. The provider stores no personal
data and therefore performs no separate retention.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction
of processing, data portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent at
any time. Because the provider holds no personal data about you, most of these
rights are exercised directly on your device (for example by deleting data in the
Software or uninstalling it) and with the relevant third-party service for data it
processes. For any questions you may contact the controller (Section 1). You also
have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
9. CHILDREN
The Software is not intended for children below the age required to consent to data
processing in their country (for example 16 in parts of the EU, or 13 where a
lower age applies). Minors may use the Software only with the consent and
supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
10. SECURITY
The Software stores your API key locally in encrypted form (Windows DPAPI) and
keeps your data on your own device. Transmission to third-party services uses
secure connections (TLS). No method of processing is completely secure, and you
remain responsible for the security of your own device and accounts.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example when features or
third-party services change. The current version is the one made available with
the Software and on its store page.
12. CONTACT
For questions about this Privacy Policy or about data protection, contact the
controller using the details in Section 1.
