END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT (EULA)

This End User Licence Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (“User”) and George Friedman (“Developer”) for the video game Radial Chess (“Game”).
By installing, copying, accessing, or using the Game, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

1. Licence Grant
The Developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Game for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.
You may not:
- Copy, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Game
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Game except where permitted by applicable law
- Use cheats, automation software, exploits, bots, or modified clients to alter gameplay
- Use the Game in a manner that disrupts online systems or other players
- Remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices from the Game
Non-commercial use does not prohibit ordinary monetized streaming, video creation, reviews, or other creator content relating to gameplay of the Game.

2. Ownership
The Game is licensed, not sold. All rights, title, and interest in the Game, including all intellectual property rights, remain the property of the Developer except for third-party software, assets, and components identified in Section 8.

3. Updates and Changes
The Developer may update, modify, suspend, replace, or discontinue any part of the Game or its features at any time.
Updates may be required for continued functionality or compatibility.

4. Online Services (Future Features)
The Game currently does not include online multiplayer or online services.
Future updates may introduce online functionality, including:
- Matchmaking services
- Ranked play systems including ELO or similar ratings
- Steam-integrated multiplayer features
- Player identifiers linked to Steam accounts
- Server-hosted or peer-to-peer online systems
If online services are introduced:
- Online services may rely on Steam or third-party infrastructure providers
- Match data, gameplay statistics, identifiers, and connection information may be processed to operate multiplayer systems
- Online services may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time
- The Developer does not guarantee permanent availability of online features
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account and for activity conducted through it.

5. Privacy and Data Processing
If online services are introduced, the Game may process limited player data including Steam identifiers, matchmaking information, gameplay statistics, rankings, and technical connection data for the purpose of operating multiplayer services and improving gameplay functionality.
Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR where applicable.
A separate Privacy Policy may be provided if online services are introduced.

6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit, or manipulate gameplay systems
- Use unauthorized software or tools that interfere with the Game
- Harass, abuse, or intentionally disrupt other players
- Attempt to interfere with servers, matchmaking systems, or network functionality
The Developer reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to online functionality for violations of these rules.

7. Warranty and Limitation of Liability
Nothing in this Agreement limits or excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Game is provided “as is” and “as available”
- The Developer does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
- The Developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Game
Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death, or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

Stockfish Chess Engine
The Game includes the Stockfish chess engine as a separate executable communicating through the Universal Chess Interface (UCI) protocol.

This Agreement applies only to the proprietary portions of the Game and does not limit rights granted under the GPL-3.0 licence for Stockfish.

10. Platform Disclaimer
Steam and Valve are trademarks or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation in the United States and/or other countries.
Valve Corporation is not responsible for the Game and does not provide warranties or support for it unless explicitly stated otherwise.

11. Termination
This Agreement remains in effect until terminated.
This Agreement will terminate automatically if you materially breach its terms. Upon termination, you must cease use of the Game and delete all copies in your possession or control.
Sections intended to survive termination shall continue in effect, including ownership, liability, and third-party licence provisions.

12. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
