The Japanese version of these Terms of Use is the authoritative text. In the event of any conflict or discrepancy between the Japanese version and any translated version, the Japanese version shall prevail, except as otherwise required by applicable law.

These Terms of Use (these "Terms") set forth the conditions for use of the game "Verse of Birth" (the "Game") provided by Dentsu Inc. (the "Company") on Steam.

Purchases, downloads, and refunds of the Game, as well as Steam accounts and other matters on Steam, are governed by the terms and policies established by Valve Corporation. If these Terms conflict with the terms on Steam, the terms on Steam shall prevail with respect to matters on Steam.

If you are a minor, you must use the Game only with the consent of a parent or other legal representative.



1. Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and the applicable terms on Steam, the Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Game for personal entertainment purposes.

The Game is licensed to you, not sold. Ownership, intellectual property rights, and all other rights in and to the Game and its in-game content belong to the Company or the respective rights holders, and nothing in these Terms transfers any such rights to you.



2. Management of Accounts and Credentials

You are responsible for appropriately managing your Steam account, your devices, your Steam credentials, and any other information necessary to use the Game.

The Company shall not be liable for any damage, inability to use the Game, loss of data, purchase or refund issues, or other detriment arising from your use of fraudulent means, unauthorized use, inadequate management of credentials, unauthorized use by third parties, or any other cause attributable to you, except where the matter is attributable to the Company or otherwise provided by applicable law.

Except as permitted by the terms on Steam or expressly authorized by the Company, you may not transfer, lend, share, or pledge as security your Steam account, your Steam credentials, or your license or right to use the Game, or allow any third party to use them.



3. Prohibited Conduct

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or expressly permitted by applicable law, you may not do any of the following:

(1) Reproduce, distribute, sell, lend, transfer, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Game or its in-game content beyond the scope expressly permitted by these Terms.
(2) Modify or reverse engineer the Game, or attempt to extract, analyze, or reproduce the Game's programs, data, or mechanisms.
(3) Circumvent, alter, or interfere with the Game's technical protection measures, communications, servers, or integrations with external services.
(4) Use the Game by means of cheats, bots, automated operations, unauthorized tools, exploitation of vulnerabilities, or any other improper means.
(5) Violate any law or regulation, the terms on Steam, these Terms, the rights of any third party, or the applicable terms of use of any third-party service.
(6) Infringe, or engage in any act that may infringe, the copyright, trademark, portrait rights, privacy, reputation, credit, or other rights or interests of any third party.
(7) Input into, transmit to, or use with the Game or the generative AI features any content that is unlawful, harmful, or improper, that is contrary to public order and morals, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
(8) Engage in any act that defames or damages the credit or reputation of the Company, the Game, or any third party, or engage in impersonation, unauthorized access, or discriminatory or abusive conduct.
(9) Engage in fraudulent conduct, improper acquisition of benefits, or circumvention of technical protection measures or authentication, or engage in any act that facilitates any of the foregoing.



4. User Input and Generative AI

The Game includes a feature that generates a "Logos" (an original character unique to each player, generated from text or other content you enter or select, and used within the Game) based on your input. Your input and the information necessary for generation are transmitted to the Company's servers. The Company's servers connect with third-party services used by the Company to the extent necessary to provide the feature.

You may not submit as input any content that violates any law or the rights of any third party, or that is harmful, improper, or contrary to public order and morals. You are also prohibited from entering personal information, confidential information, or any other information that you do not wish to be disclosed to third parties.

You are responsible for your input, your transmissions, and your use of generated results outside the Game. The Company shall not be liable for any damage, dispute, third-party claim, or other issue arising from any input, transmission, or use of generated results outside the Game by you that is unlawful, inappropriate, or in violation of these Terms, except where the matter is attributable to the Company or otherwise provided by applicable law.

Depending on your input or the specifications of the generative AI services, generation may not be performed, or the generated results may not meet your expectations.

Due to the nature of generative AI, identical or similar generated results may be produced. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company does not guarantee the uniqueness or exclusivity of generated results.

Generated results are in-game content used within the Game. You may use generated results within the Game in accordance with these Terms, but you do not acquire any rights in the Game's generation system or other underlying technology.

Where you hold copyright or other rights in your input or generated results under applicable law, you grant the Company a license to use such input or generated results to the extent necessary to provide the generative AI features, perform generation processing, store such input and generated results, respond to problem reports, and investigate failures. Within this scope, the Company may have such input and generated results handled by contractors necessary for the operation of the Game and by generative AI service providers.

You are responsible for ensuring that your input and your use of generated results outside the Game do not violate the rights of any third party or any law. If the Company incurs damage, costs, third-party claims, or other burdens arising from your breach of these Terms, infringement of rights, or unlawful or inappropriate input, transmission, or use of generated results outside the Game, you shall compensate the Company for reasonable damages and costs incurred by the Company, to the extent attributable to you and to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Even where you hold moral rights or other similar rights in your input or generated results, you shall not exercise such rights against the Company, contractors necessary for the operation of the Game, or generative AI service providers, to the extent necessary for their use under this Section.



5. Handling of Information

For the collection, use, and storage of information, processing by external services, and other handling of information in connection with the Game's internet communication features, please refer to the "Information Handling in Games with Internet Communication Features" separately published by the Company.



6. Online Features, Service Changes, and Amendments to These Terms

Some features of the Game may require an internet connection, Steam, the Company's servers, or third-party services.

Some features of the Game may become unavailable due to the terms of use, specifications, failures, suspension, changes, or termination of, or security issues affecting, Steam, generative AI services, cloud services, telecommunications carriers, or other third-party services, or due to other causes beyond the Company's control.

Some features of the Game may become unavailable due to communication failures, maintenance, suspension or changes of external services, safety reasons, legal reasons, or other unavoidable reasons. The same applies where the provision of the Game's online features becomes impracticable due to force majeure, including earthquakes, fires, power outages, natural disasters, epidemics, wars, riots, labor disputes, measures under laws or by governmental agencies or courts, cyberattacks, and failures of external services.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company may change, suspend, or terminate the content, specifications, or delivery methods of the Game's online features. In emergencies or other unavoidable circumstances, the Company may take such actions without prior notice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company may amend these Terms. In such cases, the Company will notify or announce the details of the amendments and their effective date in an appropriate manner.



7. Purchases, Refunds, and In-Game Elements

Purchases of, refunds for, and payments relating to the Game and related additional content on Steam, and their handling in your library, are governed by Steam's terms and policies.

Data, items, and other elements within the Game are intended for use within the Game and have no real-world currency value, redemption value, or property value outside the Game.



8. Screenshots, Videos, Streaming, and Social Media Posts

You may, in accordance with these Terms, create and share screenshots, videos, streams, reviews, and social media posts of the Game. Use of the standard monetization features provided by video or streaming platforms is permitted within this scope. However, you may not sell or use the Game's in-game content or generated results as assets, products, merchandise, NFTs, brand logos, or commercial material for other works or services. You also may not use them in any manner that misleads others into believing that your use is official, endorsed by, affiliated with, or approved by the Company.



9. Disclaimer of Warranties, Exclusions, and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Game is provided "as is." The Company does not warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will operate in all environments, or that generated results will meet your expectations. In addition, to the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company does not warrant the uniqueness, exclusivity, accuracy, or completeness of generated results, their fitness for a particular purpose, or that they will not infringe the rights of third parties.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for any damage, loss, dispute, or detriment arising from your breach of these Terms, your engaging in any prohibited conduct, use of fraudulent means or unauthorized use, inadequate management of credentials, unlawful or inappropriate input, transmission, or use of generated results outside the Game, disputes between you and third parties, failures, suspension, changes, or termination of third-party services, your communication environment, your device environment, force majeure, or any other cause not attributable to the Company.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunities, or other damages of a similar nature arising in connection with the Game, even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Even where the Company is liable to you in connection with the Game, the Company's liability shall be limited, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to the amount you actually paid for the Game. However, this does not apply to damages caused by the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence, damages arising from death or personal injury, or liability that cannot be limited under the Consumer Contract Act of Japan or other mandatory laws.



10. Violations and Termination

Use of the Game in a manner that violates these Terms is not within the scope of the license granted under Section 1.

You may terminate your use under these Terms at any time by ceasing to use the Game. However, purchases and refunds of the Game and related additional content on Steam, and their handling in your library, are governed by Steam's terms.

Even after your use under these Terms has ended, purchase history, refunds, library display, and other matters on Steam remain governed by Steam's terms.



11. Exclusion of Anti-Social Forces

You represent and warrant that you do not fall under any of the following: an organized crime group; a member of an organized crime group; a person affiliated with an organized crime group; a corporate racketeer; a person engaging in criminal activities under the pretext of conducting social campaigns or political activities; a special intelligence organized crime group; or any other person or group equivalent to any of the foregoing (collectively, "Anti-Social Forces"); and that you have no socially reprehensible relationship with any Anti-Social Forces.

You may not use Anti-Social Forces, provide funds or benefits to Anti-Social Forces, make violent demands, make unreasonable demands beyond legal responsibility, use threatening words or conduct, or damage the Company's credit or obstruct the Company's business by spreading rumors or by fraudulent means or force.

Use of the Game in a manner that violates this Section is not within the scope of the license granted under Section 1.



12. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, Contact, and Notices

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. However, any rights that cannot be excluded under the mandatory laws of your place of residence are not limited by these Terms.

Any dispute arising between the Company and you in connection with these Terms or the Game shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance. However, where the Consumer Contract Act of Japan or other applicable mandatory laws provide otherwise, such provisions shall apply.

Notices and communications from the Company to you will be made via the Steam store page, Steam News, the Company's website, or other methods the Company deems appropriate.

13. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms or any part thereof is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions of these Terms and the remainder of such provision shall continue in full force and effect.

You may not assign, transfer, pledge as security, or otherwise dispose of your contractual status under these Terms or any of your rights or obligations under these Terms to any third party without the Company's prior written consent.

Provisions that by their nature should survive shall remain in effect after the termination of these Terms. These include the provisions on ownership of rights; the licenses, responsibilities, and compensation relating to user input and generative AI; handling of information; purchases, refunds, and in-game elements; disclaimer of warranties, exclusions, and limitation of liability; exclusion of Anti-Social Forces; governing law and jurisdiction; contact and notices; severability; prohibition of assignment; and this Section.
