This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Recoil Trainer (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for the use of Recoil Trainer, including all software, updates, documentation, training profiles, media, local files, Steam Workshop integration, Steam Cloud integration, and related services provided by us (collectively, the “Application”).
By installing, accessing, launching, or using the Application, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install, access, launch, or use the Application.
1. License
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application for personal, non-commercial training and practice purposes.
The Application is licensed, not sold. You do not acquire ownership of the Application, its source code, assets, designs, user interface, audio systems, visual systems, training logic, or other intellectual property.
2. Authorized Distribution and Steam Ownership
If you obtained the Application through Steam, your license is valid only while you have a valid Steam license for the Application and comply with Steam’s applicable terms.
You may not copy, redistribute, resell, rent, sublicense, upload, share, or otherwise provide the Application folder, executable files, packaged builds, Steam files, unlock files, or related assets to any third party.
You may not bypass, disable, tamper with, emulate, or circumvent Steam ownership checks, Steam API checks, license verification, DRM, or other access-control mechanisms used by the Application.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the Application to practice recoil control, aim training, input timing, mouse or controller compensation, midrange aiming concepts, and related training exercises.
You may create, save, import, export, and share compatible training profiles, recoil profiles, configuration files, and other user-created content, subject to this Agreement.
4. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Application to:
cheat, automate gameplay, bypass skill requirements, or gain an unfair advantage in any third-party game or online service;
violate the terms of service, rules, anti-cheat policies, or community guidelines of any third-party game, platform, or service;
reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, patch, or create derivative versions of the Application, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
remove copyright notices, trademark notices, ownership notices, watermarks, or license notices;
distribute cracked, modified, repackaged, or unauthorized copies of the Application;
use the Application for malware, surveillance, credential theft, game memory manipulation, process injection, packet manipulation, exploit development, or anti-cheat bypassing;
upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, pornographic, harassing, malicious, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful;
misrepresent your content as official, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by us, Valve, Steam, or any third-party game publisher.
5. Overlay Mode and Third-Party Games
The Application may include overlay, floating window, input-synchronized guidance, audio guidance, or other training-related display features.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to use these features with any third-party game or application. We do not guarantee that overlay mode, audio guidance, input synchronization, or any other feature is permitted by any game publisher, anti-cheat provider, tournament organizer, platform, or online service.
We are not responsible for bans, account restrictions, warnings, loss of access, penalties, competitive disqualification, or other consequences resulting from your use or misuse of the Application with third-party games or services.
6. No Affiliation With Third-Party Games
Recoil Trainer is an independent training application. Unless explicitly stated by us in writing, the Application is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or associated with any third-party game publisher, developer, platform, anti-cheat provider, esports organizer, or hardware manufacturer.
All third-party names, game titles, trademarks, logos, screenshots, videos, sounds, weapon names, icons, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Any compatibility references are intended only for identification, training, or descriptive purposes.
7. User-Created Content and Training Profiles
“User Content” means any content that you create, upload, import, export, publish, share, or otherwise make available through or in connection with the Application, including recoil profiles, weapon profiles, training profiles, JSON files, configuration files, descriptions, preview images, metadata, comments, names, tags, and Workshop items.
You retain any rights you own in your User Content. However, by uploading, publishing, or sharing User Content through the Application or Steam Workshop, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, copy, display, distribute, reproduce, modify for technical compatibility, validate, moderate, remove, and make available your User Content in connection with the Application, Steam Workshop, support, moderation, marketing, and related services.
This license continues for as long as needed to operate the Application, provide access to shared content, maintain backups, enforce this Agreement, comply with law, and support users who have downloaded or subscribed to your content.
8. User Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your User Content.
By creating, uploading, publishing, importing, exporting, or sharing User Content, you represent and warrant that:
you own the User Content or have all necessary rights and permissions to use and share it;
your User Content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, trade secret, publicity right, privacy right, contractual right, or other right of any third party;
your User Content does not include third-party game assets, logos, artwork, screenshots, videos, audio, icons, proprietary data, or other protected material unless you have permission or the use is legally permitted;
your User Content does not falsely imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with any third-party game publisher or platform;
your User Content is compatible with the Application’s published format and does not contain malicious code, hidden payloads, exploits, or intentionally corrupted data.
We may remove, disable, reject, hide, report, or restrict access to any User Content at our discretion, including content that we believe violates this Agreement, Steam rules, applicable law, third-party rights, or the intended purpose of the Application.
9. Steam Workshop
If the Application supports Steam Workshop, Workshop items may be uploaded, downloaded, subscribed to, updated, or removed through Steam systems.
Steam Workshop use is also subject to Steam’s own terms, rules, and user-generated content policies. We do not control all aspects of Steam Workshop availability, moderation, subscriptions, download behavior, storage, account access, or backend processing.
We may provide validators, upload tools, import tools, profile format requirements, file structure requirements, and content guidelines. You agree not to bypass these requirements.
Unless otherwise permitted by us, a Workshop item for the Application must contain only files and data types that the Application is designed to load. We may reject or remove Workshop items that contain unrelated files, executable files, third-party assets, misleading metadata, or unsupported formats.
10. Application Profiles Are Not Official Game Data
Training profiles, recoil profiles, weapon profiles, and similar files used by the Application are user-created or developer-created training approximations. They are not official data from any third-party game unless expressly stated and authorized.
We do not guarantee that any profile exactly matches any third-party game, weapon, input system, recoil behavior, controller response curve, balance patch, update, or live gameplay condition.
The Application is a training tool and does not guarantee improvement, competitive performance, ranking results, or gameplay outcomes.
11. Updates and Changes
We may update, patch, modify, remove, rebalance, rename, or discontinue features, content formats, Workshop compatibility, Steam Cloud behavior, overlay features, audio features, profile formats, or other parts of the Application at any time.
Some updates may make old profiles, settings, Workshop items, saved files, or third-party content incompatible. We may provide migration tools, but we do not guarantee backward compatibility.
12. Steam Cloud and Local Data
The Application may store settings, profiles, configuration files, progress data, or other files locally and, if enabled, through Steam Cloud.
You are responsible for backing up important files. We are not responsible for lost, corrupted, overwritten, deleted, desynchronized, or incompatible local files, Steam Cloud files, Workshop files, or user-created content.
Steam Cloud behavior may depend on Steam client settings, device settings, network conditions, Steam account status, and Valve services.
13. Privacy
The Application may process local settings, profile data, configuration data, diagnostic information, or other technical information necessary to operate the Application.
If we collect personal data outside of Steam systems, such collection will be described in our Privacy Policy, if applicable. Steam account data, Steam Cloud, Steam Workshop, and Steam platform services may be processed by Valve under Valve’s own terms and privacy policy.
You should not include personal information, confidential information, passwords, API keys, private tokens, or sensitive data in Workshop items, shared profiles, bug reports, filenames, metadata, or support messages.
14. Feedback and Suggestions
If you provide feedback, ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, designs, text, translations, or other submissions to us, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, publish, distribute, and incorporate them into the Application or related services without compensation or obligation to you.
15. Intellectual Property
The Application, including its software, code, interface, design, systems, artwork, audio, text, icons, logos, branding, training logic, profile format, documentation, and other materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not use our name, logo, icons, branding, screenshots, trailers, store assets, or promotional materials except as expressly permitted by us or applicable law.
16. Third-Party Software and Services
The Application may include or interact with third-party software, libraries, APIs, platforms, services, or tools, including Steamworks, Steam Cloud, Steam Workshop, operating system services, input libraries, audio libraries, or UI frameworks.
Such third-party components may be subject to separate licenses or terms. To the extent required, those licenses apply in addition to this Agreement.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Application is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, and error-free performance.
We do not warrant that the Application will work with every device, controller, mouse, display configuration, operating system, game, anti-cheat system, Steam setting, overlay setting, audio setup, or user-created profile.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of account access, game bans, business interruption, hardware issues, software conflicts, or loss of goodwill arising from or related to the Application.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Application or this Agreement will not exceed the amount you paid for the Application in the twelve months before the claim arose, or USD $10, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
19. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us, our affiliates, officers, contractors, licensors, and partners from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to:
your use or misuse of the Application;
your User Content;
your violation of this Agreement;
your violation of any third-party rights;
your violation of any third-party game terms, platform rules, anti-cheat policies, or applicable law.
20. Termination
This Agreement remains in effect until terminated.
Your rights under this Agreement terminate automatically if you violate this Agreement, lose access to a valid license, circumvent license checks, distribute unauthorized copies, misuse Workshop features, or use the Application for prohibited purposes.
Upon termination, you must stop using the Application and delete any unauthorized copies in your possession or control.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, User Content licenses, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law.
21. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of [State/Country], excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute arising from or related to this Agreement or the Application will be resolved in the courts located in [County/State/Country], unless applicable law requires otherwise.
22. Changes to This Agreement
We may update this Agreement from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through Steam, the Application, our website, or other reasonable means.
Your continued use of the Application after the updated Agreement becomes effective means you accept the updated Agreement.

24. Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with any applicable Steam terms, privacy policy, Workshop guidelines, and third-party license notices, forms the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Application and supersedes any prior agreements or understandings regarding the Application.
