Please read this End User License Agreement ("Agreement") carefully before playing DragonSword : Awakening ("Game"). This Agreement is a legal contract between you ("User") and Hound13 Inc. ("Company", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or playing the Game, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or play the Game.
1. Grant of License
The Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to play the Game for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes, subject to your compliance with this Agreement.
2. Technical Requirements & DRM
Internet Connection: The Game is primarily a single-player offline experience. However, a minimal internet connection is required for specific features, including Steam Cloud saves and unlocking Steam Achievements.
Digital Rights Management (DRM): The Game utilizes Steam's native DRM for copyright protection. No external third-party DRM (such as Denuvo) is used.
3. General Restrictions
To maintain the integrity of the Game, you agree NOT to:
Modify, alter, or tamper with the Game files in any way.
Create, distribute, or use Mods (modifications) for the Game. The Game does not support Mods, nor does it officially support Steam Workshop.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Game.
4. Intellectual Property & Secondary Creation Guidelines
The Game's world, story, characters, images, background music, videos, and all related assets ("Game IP") are the exclusive property of Hound13 Inc. We encourage our community to express their passion through Secondary Creations (e.g., gameplay videos, streams, fan art), subject to the following rules:
A. Non-Commercial Use & Permitted Monetization
General Rule: Secondary Creations must strictly be for non-commercial purposes.
Asset Extraction: Extracting in-game assets (music, 3D models, images, etc.) for independent monetization or commercial use is strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Commercial Activities: You may not create or service a separate game using our IP; demand or receive financial compensation for Secondary Creations; sell or lock Secondary Creations behind paywalls; or submit them to contests that may use the work commercially.
Permitted Exceptions (Streaming & Video Platforms): You are permitted to upload or stream gameplay videos on free-to-watch platforms (such as YouTube, Twitch, Chzzk, etc.) and generate revenue strictly through the platform's standard advertising and voluntary viewer donations/sponsorships.
B. Content Guidelines & Prohibitions When publishing Secondary Creations, you must clearly credit the source as "DragonSword : Awakening". Furthermore, your creations must NOT contain or involve:
Infringement of third-party intellectual property rights, portrait rights, or any other legal rights (this includes works generated using AI).
Specific political views or stances.
Content that discriminates, degrades, or promotes hatred toward any specific group, religion, race, ethnicity, nation, or gender.
Sexually explicit content or material that may cause sexual harassment or humiliation.
Extreme violence or gore that may cause disgust or distress to others.
Content that violates public morals or social order, or contradicts the values and internal policies of Hound13 Inc.
Content designed to mislead viewers into believing it is official content created or endorsed by the Company.
C. Rights & Responsibilities
Company's Right to Use: By creating and distributing Secondary Creations, you grant Hound13 Inc. the right to use your creations free of charge for non-commercial or promotional purposes.
Revocation & Takedown: Hound13 Inc. reserves the right to immediately revoke permission to use the Game IP and demand the takedown or cessation of distribution of any Secondary Creation that violates these guidelines or applicable laws.
Liability: The creator holds all responsibility and liability for any issues, disputes, or damages arising from their Secondary Creations.
Changes to Guidelines: These guidelines serve as basic precautions and may be updated without prior notice. The most current version of the guidelines will always apply.
5. Data Collection & Privacy
We are committed to improving the Game's quality and balance. To achieve this, the Game collects certain data:
Crash Reports: We receive default crash reports generated by the Unreal Engine to identify and fix technical issues.
Gameplay Analytics: We collect anonymous gameplay data, such as progression rates and milestones reached, to analyze game balance and improve overall player experience. For more details on how we handle data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
6. Refund Policy
Refunds for the Game are processed entirely in accordance with the standard Steam Refund Policy. We do not offer separate or direct refunds outside of the Steam platform.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Game is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any legal disputes arising from or relating to this Agreement or the Game shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court.
