This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and LYU,YUN ("Licensor," "we," "us," or "our") for the Steam-distributed version of QuietDetach, including the software application, updates, patches, related documentation, and application-specific content made available through Steam (collectively, the "Application").
By downloading, installing, accessing, launching, or using the Application, you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install, access, launch, or use the Application.
This EULA applies only to the version of the Application distributed through Steam. It is intended to operate as application-specific Subscription Terms for the Application under the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Your Steam account, your purchase or acquisition of the Application through Steam, Steam billing, delivery, access controls, refunds, platform features, Steam client behavior, and Valve's processing of Steam platform data are governed by Valve's applicable Steam terms and policies, including the Steam Subscriber Agreement, applicable Steam Rules of Use, the Valve Privacy Policy, and the Steam Refund Policy. If this EULA conflicts with Valve's applicable Steam terms on those Steam platform matters, Valve's terms control to the extent of the conflict.
1. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with this EULA and applicable law, Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Steam-distributed version of the Application on devices that you own, control, or are authorized to use, through a Steam account or Steam access mechanism authorized by Valve for the Application.
The license is for your personal use or internal business use. "Internal business use" means use by you or within your own organization to administer devices, files, processes, or storage media that you own, control, or are authorized to administer. This EULA does not grant enterprise-wide, managed-service, outsourced-administration, kiosk, lab, hosting, resale, or multi-tenant deployment rights unless Licensor separately grants those rights in writing.
The Application is licensed, not sold. No ownership interest in the Application is transferred to you.
2. Restrictions
You may not, and may not permit any third party to:
- copy, distribute, publicly make available, or otherwise use the Application except as expressly permitted by this EULA, Valve's applicable Steam terms, or applicable law;
- modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the Application, except to the limited extent that applicable law does not allow such a restriction;
- resell, sublicense, lease, rent, lend, provide as a service, timeshare, host, or otherwise commercially exploit the Application other than the internal business use expressly permitted above;
- deploy the Steam-distributed version of the Application for institutional, enterprise-wide, kiosk, lab, managed-service, outsourced-administration, or other multi-user commercial environments except under a separate written license from Licensor;
- remove or alter copyright, trademark, proprietary, or legal notices;
- circumvent or interfere with security, licensing, DRM, access-control, integrity, or platform mechanisms of the Application, Steam, Windows, or any third-party software or service;
- use the Application to bypass or interfere with anti-cheat, security, access-control, licensing, or protected-process mechanisms of other software or services;
- use the Application to access, analyze, terminate, eject, modify, disrupt, or administer devices, accounts, files, processes, services, or systems that you do not own, control, or have authorization to administer; or
- use the Application in violation of law, third-party rights, applicable terms of service, sanctions, export-control rules, or other legal obligations that apply to you.
3. Product-Specific Notices and User Responsibility
QuietDetach is a Windows utility for removable-storage ejection requests, device eject failure analysis, file/folder lock analysis, selected process termination actions, startup-task configuration, Explorer context-menu integration, local settings, and local logging.
The Application may request or require elevated Windows permissions, including administrator privileges and debug privileges. These permissions may allow the Application to inspect process and handle information, request process termination, request removable-device ejection, create or remove Explorer context-menu entries, create or modify startup-task configuration, and write local settings or logs.
High-impact actions may affect data, running applications, services, or connected storage devices. For example, process termination can cause loss of unsaved work, interruption of applications or services, or inconsistent application state. Device ejection or dismount-related operations can interrupt access to removable storage and may fail depending on Windows, drivers, hardware, locks, security software, or protected processes.
You are responsible for:
- confirming that the selected device, file, folder, process, or other target is correct before acting;
- saving work and backing up important data before using high-impact features;
- using the Application only on systems and targets you are authorized to administer;
- complying with workplace, organization, security, data-protection, and acceptable-use policies that apply to you; and
- evaluating whether the Application is appropriate for your environment before relying on it.
The Application may not identify every locking process, device relationship, path, handle, or failure cause. It may not successfully terminate a selected process or eject a selected device. It is not a data-recovery product, backup product, forensic product, malware-removal product, security bypass tool, guaranteed unlock tool, guaranteed safe-removal service, or safety-critical system. Do not use the Application where failure, delay, incorrect output, device removal, process termination, or data loss could lead to personal injury, death, physical damage, critical service interruption, or other safety-critical consequences.
4. Updates, Availability, and Steam Platform Behavior
Licensor may provide updates, patches, fixes, compatibility changes, or feature changes for the Application, but this EULA does not require Licensor to provide any particular update, feature, support response, compatibility outcome, or continued availability except to the extent required by applicable law.
Steam may automatically deliver updates or control access to the Application according to Valve's applicable Steam terms and platform processes. The Application may depend on Windows APIs, drivers, hardware behavior, Steam platform behavior, and third-party components that Licensor does not control.
5. Local Data and Privacy
The Application may store settings, logs, and related local operational data on your device. By default, the core local functionality of the Steam-distributed version stores such data locally and does not automatically transmit application-generated settings, logs, file paths, process information, device identifiers, or diagnostic data to Licensor over the internet.
Local logs may include file paths, folder paths, drive letters, process names, process IDs, device identifiers, device instance IDs, Windows error messages, operation status, timing values, and other diagnostic information generated by local operation of the Application.
Our handling of personal data, if any, is described in the Privacy Notice provided with the Application. Valve's processing of Steam account, purchase, platform, and Steamworks data is governed by Valve's applicable privacy disclosures.
6. Ownership and Third-Party Components
The Application and all related intellectual property rights are owned by Licensor or its licensors and are protected by law. Except for the limited license expressly granted in this EULA, Licensor reserves all rights in and to the Application.
The Application may include, link against, or rely on third-party components, runtime components, fonts, libraries, tools, or platform services that are licensed under separate terms. Third-party attribution and license notices, if any, are provided separately. Those separate notices do not expand your rights in the Application except as expressly stated in the applicable third-party terms.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS, GUARANTEES, OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LICENSOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS, GUARANTEES, AND REPRESENTATIONS, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, DATA ACCURACY, DATA PRESERVATION, SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY, AVAILABILITY, AND THAT THE APPLICATION WILL OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, ERROR, SECURITY INCIDENT, DEVICE ISSUE, OR DATA LOSS.
THE APPLICATION'S OUTPUT, WARNINGS, LOCK ANALYSIS, DEVICE ANALYSIS, PROCESS INFORMATION, AND STATUS MESSAGES ARE PROVIDED FOR LOCAL OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE ONLY AND ARE NOT A GUARANTEE THAT A DEVICE CAN BE SAFELY REMOVED, THAT A PROCESS CAN BE SAFELY TERMINATED, THAT A FILE OR FOLDER IS FREE OF LOCKS, OR THAT A SYSTEM STATE HAS BEEN FULLY DIAGNOSED.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LICENSOR AND ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SUPPLIERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SIMILAR DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF BUSINESS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, DEVICE FAILURE, STORAGE FAILURE, SYSTEM INSTABILITY, LOSS OF GOODWILL, COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, OR CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LICENSOR'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APPLICATION OR THIS EULA WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APPLICATION THROUGH STEAM.
THE LIMITATIONS ABOVE APPLY TO ALL CLAIMS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, WARRANTY, STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
Nothing in this EULA excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
9. Mandatory Consumer Rights, Refunds, and Local Law
Nothing in this EULA limits refunds, statutory guarantees, withdrawal rights, repair or replacement rights, digital-content remedies, data-protection rights, or other non-waivable consumer rights that apply under Valve's applicable Steam policies or mandatory law.
For purchases made through Steam, refund processing and Steam refund eligibility are governed by Valve's applicable Steam refund rules and any mandatory law that applies to you.
For users in jurisdictions where warranty disclaimers, liability limitations, governing-law terms, venue terms, amendment terms, or termination terms are restricted by mandatory consumer law, this EULA applies only to the maximum extent permitted by that law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, or any other jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection rules, nothing in this EULA is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
10. Termination
This EULA remains effective until terminated. You may stop using and uninstall the Application at any time. Licensor may terminate this EULA as between you and Licensor if you materially breach it, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Upon termination, your license under this EULA ends and you must stop using the Application and uninstall or destroy your copies, except to the extent retention is required by applicable law or Steam platform functionality.
Any restriction, cancellation, termination, refund, or access change affecting your Steam account or Steam Subscription is governed by Valve's applicable Steam terms and platform processes.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including restrictions, ownership, third-party notices, disclaimers, limitation of liability, consumer-rights preservation, and general provisions.
11. Export, Sanctions, and Legal Compliance
You are responsible for complying with export-control, sanctions, import, customs, and other legal requirements that apply to your access to or use of the Application. You may not use, export, re-export, transfer, or otherwise make available the Application in violation of applicable sanctions, embargoes, export-control laws, or other legal restrictions.
12. Support and Contact
Application-specific support or legal questions should be directed through the support or contact channel made available by Licensor for the Application, including the applicable Steam support surface, Steam store support contact, or other support materials provided with the Application.
Valve is responsible for Steam platform support matters only to the extent described in Valve's applicable Steam terms and support processes. Licensor is responsible for Application-specific support only to the extent required by applicable law or expressly promised by Licensor.
13. Changes to This EULA
Licensor may update this EULA for future versions of the Application or as required for legal, platform, security, or operational reasons. If Steam or the Application presents updated terms for acceptance, your continued use after acceptance is governed by the updated terms. If you do not agree to updated terms, you must stop using the Application, subject to any refund or consumer rights that apply through Steam or applicable law.
No EULA update is intended to retroactively remove non-waivable consumer rights or remedies that you already have under applicable law.
14. General
This EULA is the entire agreement between you and Licensor regarding the Steam-distributed version of the Application, except for Valve's applicable Steam terms, the applicable Privacy Notice, any third-party notices, and any separate written commercial license expressly issued by Licensor.
If any provision of this EULA is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and the invalid or unenforceable provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable where possible. Licensor's failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver.
You may not assign or transfer this EULA except as expressly permitted by Valve's applicable Steam terms or mandatory law. Licensor may assign this EULA in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the Application or related business.
Any translation of this EULA is provided for convenience only. The English-language version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.
