This End User License Agreement, referred to as the “Agreement” or “EULA,” is a legal agreement between you and Red Canopy Games.
This Agreement governs your access to and use of Critical Chaos, including its demo, executable software, game content, downloadable content, patches, updates, documentation, and related materials, collectively referred to as the “Game.”
By downloading, installing, launching, accessing, or using the Game, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Agreement.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not install, launch, access, or use the Game.
If you are below the legal age of majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept this Agreement on your behalf.
1. LIMITED LICENSE
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Red Canopy Games grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to:
Download and install the Game through an authorized distributor.
Use the Game for your personal, non-commercial entertainment.
Maintain copies installed through an authorized storefront or platform, as permitted by that platform.
Create gameplay videos, livestreams, reviews, commentary, screenshots, and similar fan content as permitted under Section 8.
The Game is licensed to you, not sold. You receive permission to use the Game under this Agreement, but you do not receive ownership of the Game or any of its content.
2. STEAM AND OTHER DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS
If you obtain or access the Game through Steam, your use of Steam and your Steam account remains subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement, Steam Refund Policy, Valve Privacy Policy, and other applicable Steam terms.
This Agreement supplements those terms only with respect to Critical Chaos.
Transactions, refunds, account access, platform functionality, cloud saves, achievements, and other distributor services may be governed by the distributor’s own agreements and policies.
If this Agreement conflicts with a distributor’s mandatory platform terms concerning that distributor’s services, the distributor’s terms will control only for those services.
3. LICENSE RESTRICTIONS
Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not:
Copy, reproduce, sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Game.
Distribute the Game, its executable files, project files, databases, maps, plugins, source code, scripts, dialogue, artwork, music, sound effects, or other assets.
Make the Game available through unauthorized download sites, file-sharing services, torrents, cloud storage links, or similar distribution methods.
Circumvent, disable, bypass, or interfere with digital rights management, Steam authentication, copy protection, achievement systems, or security features.
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, decode, or attempt to obtain the Game’s source code, except where applicable law expressly permits such activity.
Remove or alter copyright, trademark, attribution, ownership, or licensing notices.
Use the Game or its assets to create or promote a competing commercial product.
Extract, sell, redistribute, or separately publish sprites, portraits, maps, music, sound effects, animations, dialogue, code, plugins, or other Game content.
Use Game content in advertisements, merchandise, commercial artwork, publications, or other products without written permission.
Use the Game, its code, dialogue, artwork, music, characters, or other assets to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or populate an artificial intelligence model, machine-learning system, dataset, or content generator without prior written permission.
Scrape, harvest, mine, or systematically extract Game content for databases, archives, datasets, asset repositories, or similar collections.
Use the Game in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of another person.
Misrepresent yourself as Red Canopy Games or imply that Red Canopy Games endorses you, your content, or your product.
Use Game content to create non-fungible tokens, cryptocurrency projects, blockchain assets, or similar tokenized products without prior written permission.
4. PERSONAL MODIFICATIONS
You may create non-commercial modifications for your own personal use, provided that you:
Lawfully obtained the Game.
Do not distribute original Game files or assets.
Do not sell or monetize the modification.
Do not represent the modification as official.
Do not use the modification to bypass platform security or distribute unauthorized copies.
Do not use the modification for unlawful, defamatory, malicious, or fraudulent purposes.
Red Canopy Games is not obligated to support modified installations or repair save files, technical problems, crashes, or other damage caused by modifications, trainers, external tools, or save editing.
Red Canopy Games may withdraw this permission for specific modifications or categories of modifications when reasonably necessary to protect the Game, its users, or our intellectual property.
5. OWNERSHIP AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Red Canopy Games and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the Game, including:
Software and source code
Characters and character designs
Dialogue and narrative content
Worldbuilding and lore
Maps and environments
Artwork and animation
Music and sound
Game mechanics and original systems
Names, logos, and trademarks
Documentation and promotional materials
Updates, patches, and downloadable content
Critical Chaos, Red Canopy Games, associated logos, character names, setting names, and related branding are owned by Red Canopy Games or used under lawful license.
No rights are granted except those expressly stated in this Agreement.
6. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
The Game may contain software, plugins, fonts, music, artwork, libraries, development tools, or other materials owned by third parties and used under applicable licenses.
Those materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Your license to use the Game does not grant you permission to extract, reuse, redistribute, or commercially exploit third-party components contained within the Game.
Certain third-party components may be governed by separate license notices included with the Game or its documentation.
7. DEMO VERSION
This Agreement applies to the Critical Chaos demo as well as the full Game.
The demo may:
Contain only part of the full Game.
Have different features or content.
Receive updates independently from the full Game.
Be modified or discontinued at any time.
Be incompatible with later versions or save files.
Access to the demo does not grant ownership of the full Game or guarantee that demo save data will transfer to the full release.
8. GAMEPLAY VIDEOS, STREAMING, AND FAN CONTENT
Red Canopy Games grants you permission to create, publish, and monetize the following content featuring the Game:
Gameplay videos
Livestreams
Reviews
Tutorials
Commentary
Screenshots
Video essays
Transformative memes
Non-commercial fan art
Other transformative fan content
You may earn advertising revenue, channel subscriptions, donations, sponsorship revenue, and similar platform-based compensation from such content.
This permission does not allow you to:
Redistribute the Game or its assets as standalone files.
Upload the Game’s soundtrack, cutscenes, dialogue, artwork, or other content primarily as a substitute for purchasing or playing the Game.
Sell Game assets or incorporate them into another commercial product.
Imply sponsorship, partnership, approval, or endorsement by Red Canopy Games.
Publish content that is fraudulent, unlawful, or intentionally misleading about Red Canopy Games.
Use copyrighted Game material in a manner that is not reasonably connected to commentary, criticism, gameplay, reporting, education, or other transformative content.
Red Canopy Games may revoke this permission in individual cases involving infringement, fraud, impersonation, unauthorized redistribution, or substantial harm to the Game or its community.
9. SAVED DATA AND TECHNICAL COMPATIBILITY
The Game may create local save files, configuration files, screenshots, logs, achievement data, or similar technical information.
You are responsible for backing up your save files when appropriate.
Red Canopy Games does not guarantee that:
Save files will be compatible with every update.
Modified or corrupted saves can be repaired.
Cloud synchronization will always function.
The Game will remain compatible with unsupported hardware, operating systems, drivers, plugins, or external software.
Progress lost due to hardware failure, user action, modification, corruption, or platform malfunction can be recovered.
10. UPDATES AND CHANGES
Red Canopy Games may provide patches, updates, balancing changes, performance improvements, bug fixes, compatibility changes, or content revisions.
Updates may add, remove, replace, rebalance, or modify features or content.
Red Canopy Games does not guarantee that every feature, mechanic, configuration, exploit, modification, or save file will remain compatible with future versions.
You may be required to install updates to continue using some Game features or distributor services.
11. TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Red Canopy Games may provide technical support at its discretion.
Technical support does not include a guarantee that:
Every reported issue will be corrected.
The Game will operate on hardware below the published minimum requirements.
Modified copies of the Game will function.
Corrupted save data can be recovered.
Unsupported operating systems or external tools will remain compatible.
Support may be limited, changed, or discontinued.
12. PRIVACY AND PLATFORM SERVICES
Red Canopy Games may use platform services such as Steam achievements, cloud storage, crash reporting, or similar functionality.
Information processed by Steam or another distributor is governed by that distributor’s privacy policy and terms.
If Red Canopy Games directly collects personal information outside normal distributor services, such collection will be governed by an applicable privacy notice.
13. NO WARRANTY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE GAME IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
RED CANOPY GAMES DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF:

RED CANOPY GAMES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, FREE FROM DEFECTS, COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY DEVICE, OR THAT EVERY DEFECT WILL BE CORRECTED.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS. IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, THESE EXCLUSIONS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RED CANOPY GAMES AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE GAME.
THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES INVOLVING:
LOST DATA OR SAVE FILES
LOST PROFITS OR REVENUE
LOSS OF BUSINESS
LOSS OF GOODWILL
DEVICE OR SOFTWARE FAILURE
INTERRUPTION OF USE
THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM FAILURE
INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE GAME
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RED CANOPY GAMES’ TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE GAME WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE GAME IN STEAM.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory asserted and even if Red Canopy Games was advised that damages were possible.
Nothing in this Agreement limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
15. INDEMNIFICATION
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Red Canopy Games and its owners, employees, contractors, contributors, and licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, and reasonable expenses arising from:
Your violation of this Agreement.
Your unlawful use of the Game.
Your unauthorized distribution or exploitation of Game content.
Your infringement of another person’s rights.
Content or modifications you create using or referencing the Game.
This section does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer law.
16. TERMINATION
This Agreement remains effective until terminated.
Your rights under this Agreement terminate automatically if you materially violate its terms.
Upon termination, you must:
Stop using the Game.
Delete unauthorized copies in your possession.
Stop distributing or commercially exploiting Game content.
Stop using any rights granted under this Agreement, except permissions that expressly survive termination.
Termination does not eliminate obligations or liabilities that arose before termination.
Sections concerning ownership, restrictions, warranty disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute provisions survive termination.
17. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
Except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise, this Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any legal action arising from this Agreement or the Game must be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction located in Fort Bend County, Texas, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If you live in a jurisdiction whose laws give you mandatory rights or require disputes to be heard elsewhere, those mandatory protections remain unaffected.
18. CONSUMER RIGHTS
Nothing in this Agreement excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, warranty, remedy, or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and other jurisdictions may have mandatory consumer rights that take precedence over conflicting provisions of this Agreement.
19. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT
Red Canopy Games may update this Agreement to reflect changes in the Game, distribution methods, legal requirements, or business operations.
A revised version will identify its effective date.
Where legally required, material changes will be presented for acceptance or communicated through the Game, an authorized storefront, or an official Red Canopy Games channel.
Continued use after a revised Agreement takes effect may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
20. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or severed if necessary.
The remaining provisions will remain in effect.
21. NO WAIVER
Failure by Red Canopy Games to enforce any provision does not waive its right to enforce that provision later.
Any waiver must be made in writing by an authorized representative of Red Canopy Games.
22. ASSIGNMENT
You may not assign or transfer your rights under this Agreement without written permission from Red Canopy Games.
Red Canopy Games may assign this Agreement as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, business transfer, or similar transaction.
23. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This Agreement, together with applicable distributor terms and any third-party license notices included with the Game, represents the entire agreement concerning your license to use Critical Chaos.
It replaces prior discussions or understandings concerning that license.

Your unauthorized distribution or exploitation of Game content.
Your infringement of another person’s rights.
Content or modifications you create using or referencing the Game.
This section does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer law.
16. TERMINATION
This Agreement remains effective until terminated.
Your rights under this Agreement terminate automatically if you materially violate its terms.
Upon termination, you must:
Stop using the Game.
Delete unauthorized copies in your possession.
Stop distributing or commercially exploiting Game content.
Stop using any rights granted under this Agreement, except permissions that expressly survive termination.
Termination does not eliminate obligations or liabilities that arose before termination.
Sections concerning ownership, restrictions, warranty disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute provisions survive termination.
17. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
Except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise, this Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any legal action arising from this Agreement or the Game must be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction located in Fort Bend County, Texas, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If you live in a jurisdiction whose laws give you mandatory rights or require disputes to be heard elsewhere, those mandatory protections remain unaffected.
18. CONSUMER RIGHTS
Nothing in this Agreement excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, warranty, remedy, or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and other jurisdictions may have mandatory consumer rights that take precedence over conflicting provisions of this Agreement.
19. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT
Red Canopy Games may update this Agreement to reflect changes in the Game, distribution methods, legal requirements, or business operations.
A revised version will identify its effective date.
Where legally required, material changes will be presented for acceptance or communicated through the Game, an authorized storefront, or an official Red Canopy Games channel.
Continued use after a revised Agreement takes effect may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
20. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or severed if necessary.
The remaining provisions will remain in effect.
21. NO WAIVER
Failure by Red Canopy Games to enforce any provision does not waive its right to enforce that provision later.
Any waiver must be made in writing by an authorized representative of Red Canopy Games.
22. ASSIGNMENT
You may not assign or transfer your rights under this Agreement without written permission from Red Canopy Games.
Red Canopy Games may assign this Agreement as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, business transfer, or similar transaction.
23. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This Agreement, together with applicable distributor terms and any third-party license notices included with the Game, represents the entire agreement concerning your license to use Critical Chaos.
It replaces prior discussions or understandings concerning that license.
