END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

Effective date: 31.8.2026

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement" or "EULA") is a legal agreement between you ("User", "you") and Matěj Růžička ("Developer", "I", "me") governing your access to and use of MDS: Metro Dispatcher Simulator, also referred to as "MDS" ("Application").

By installing, launching, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, you may not use the Application.

1. STEAM ACCOUNT AND ACCESS

The Application is distributed through the Steam platform operated by Valve Corporation and/or its affiliates ("Steam").

Your right to access and use the Application is conditional upon your Steam account having a valid license, subscription, entitlement, or other authorization recognized by Steam for the Application.

The Application may use Steam services to verify this authorization. Access may be refused or terminated if Steam does not report a valid entitlement for the account attempting to use the Application.

This Agreement does not grant any independent right to access the Application outside the rights associated with a valid Steam entitlement.

Use of Steam is separately governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and other applicable Steam terms. Valve is not a party to this EULA.

2. LICENSE GRANT

Subject to compliance with this Agreement and continued possession of a valid Steam entitlement, the Developer grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable license to install and use the Application for personal use.

The Application is licensed, not sold. No ownership rights in the Application or its proprietary components are transferred to you.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by the Developer and the respective owners of third-party components.

3. DISTRIBUTION AND COPYING

Except where permitted by this Agreement, Steam, applicable law, or an applicable third-party license, you may not:

a) redistribute the Application or copies of it;

b) upload or otherwise make the Application available through websites, file-sharing services, peer-to-peer networks, or other distribution channels;

c) sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise commercially distribute the Application;

d) provide modified or repackaged versions of the Application to third parties;

e) circumvent Steam-based access or entitlement mechanisms for the purpose of enabling unauthorized use.

Normal backup, caching and copying operations performed by Steam or reasonably necessary for lawful personal use are not prohibited.

4. MODIFICATION, REVERSE ENGINEERING AND SECURITY

Except where permitted by applicable law or by the license of a third-party component, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, bypass, circumvent, or attempt to derive the source code of proprietary portions of the Application.

You may not circumvent or disable access-control, license-verification, DRM, or security mechanisms for the purpose of obtaining or enabling unauthorized access.

Nothing in this Agreement restricts rights to reverse engineer, modify, replace, rebuild, debug, or otherwise work with an open-source component where such rights are granted by the applicable open-source license or cannot lawfully be restricted.

5. OPEN-SOURCE AND THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

The Application contains or uses third-party software components, including components of Qt, PySide2 and Shiboken2.

Certain components are distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 ("LGPLv3") or other open-source licenses.

Such components are governed by their respective licenses rather than by conflicting restrictions in this EULA.

Where required by the LGPLv3, users retain the right to replace LGPL-covered libraries with modified or otherwise compatible versions and to perform reverse engineering where necessary for debugging modifications to those LGPL-covered components.

Information concerning applicable licenses, library replacement and open-source components is provided with the Application in its licenses directory or accompanying documentation.

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to restrict any right granted under the LGPLv3 or another applicable open-source license.

6. OWNERSHIP AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Except for separately identified third-party and open-source components, the Application, including its proprietary source code, compiled code, graphics, user interface, game assets, documentation and other original content, is owned by Matěj Růžička or licensed for use in the Application and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.

Third-party components remain the property of their respective copyright holders and are governed by their respective licenses.

7. UPDATES AND STEAM SERVICES

The Developer may provide patches, updates, revisions or new versions of the Application through Steam.

The Application may depend on Steam services for installation, updates, authentication, entitlement verification, DRM, or other functionality.

The Developer does not guarantee that Steam or any particular Steam service will remain available indefinitely.

8. BETA AND TEST VERSIONS

If the Application is identified as an alpha, beta, test, preview, early-access or otherwise unfinished version, you acknowledge that it may contain bugs, incomplete functionality, compatibility issues or other defects.

Such versions may be changed, suspended or withdrawn and should not be relied upon for safety-critical, business-critical or otherwise essential purposes.

9. TERMINATION

Your license under this Agreement may terminate if:

a) your Steam entitlement to the Application is terminated or is no longer valid;

b) you materially violate this Agreement; or

c) continued access is no longer authorized under applicable Steam systems and terms.

Upon termination, you must cease unauthorized use of the Application.

Termination of this EULA does not terminate or restrict rights independently granted under licenses applicable to open-source components.

10. DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Application is provided "as is" and "as available".

The Developer does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or compatibility with every hardware or software configuration.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability, warranties, remedies, consumer rights or other rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.

This choice of law does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections or rights provided by laws that apply to them in their country of residence.

12. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT

The Developer may update this Agreement when reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to the Application, distribution method, applicable law or third-party services.

Where required by applicable law, material changes will be communicated to users or require renewed acceptance.

14. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This Agreement governs the license granted by the Developer for the proprietary portions of the Application.

It supplements, and does not replace, the Steam Subscriber Agreement and other applicable Steam terms.

Where any provision of this Agreement conflicts with mandatory law or with rights granted under an applicable open-source license for a third-party component, that mandatory law or third-party license controls with respect to that matter.
