Language:
In addition to the default Steam games terms & conditions, the following rules apply:

CHEATING (banable)
Cheating is defined as the use of any tool or method on the client or server side to modify the intended program's behavior in order to gain unfair advantages over others.

EXPLOITING (not banable)
Exploiting is defined as the use of flaws in the gameplay mechanics of the game to gain unfair and unintended advantages over others.
Exploiting -no matter how dishonorable- is ultimately the responsibility of the game's design being faulty and cannot therefore warrant a ban.
It is of course highly recommended and appreciated to immediately report any exploitable flaws found in the game's design.

CHARACTER-RESTRICTED SERVERS
On a character-restricted server, each player is only allowed to control a single character.
A character-restricted server controls physical devices used by players in order to avoid the use of multi-accounts by a single player used to gain unfair advantages.
All official servers are character-restricted. Community hosted servers can choose to enable or not device restriction.
Only one character per physical device and per game is allowed:
* 2 characters can play from the same device if its on different Ymir games.
* 2 characters can play in the same game it its from different devices (even if its from the same connection).
If 2 characters are detected connecting to the same game from the same device, the connection of the 2nd character will be blocked and the player will be notified.

RULES
1. Cheating is forbidden.
2. On character-restricted games, trying to circumvent the one-character-per-device rule in any way is forbidden.
3. On character-restricted games, the use of virtual machines is forbidden.
4. On character-restricted games, characters operating for the sole benefit of others are forbidden.

BANS
The infringement of any of these rules will result in an automatic ban of the related accounts by the Ymir anti-cheat system.
- There is no prior warnings.
- Bans are triggered once evidence beyond reasonable doubt is acquired by the system.
- The banning decision does not involve human intervention or judgement. It is automatically decided to ensure impartiality.
- To protect the mechanisms of the anti-cheat system, detailed proofs justifying the ban will not be disclosed.
- Bans are permanent and irrevocable.
- An account banned from an official game will be banned from all other official games.
- An account banned from a community game will only be banned from that community server (and other community games hosted on the same server device).
- This banning system is not to confuse with moderator bans that some community servers can choose to allow. Such servers are listed in the community tab. These bans are decided by the server admins.
