IMPORTANT NOTICE
Before installing, running or otherwise using Cryptobiosis, please read and make sure you fully understand all of the terms of this Agreement. By clicking “Agree”, “Install”, “Continue” or by actually launching and using the System, you are deemed to have read and agreed to all of the terms of this Agreement.

This Agreement is entered into between Hengshu Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. and Gaoyuan Panoptic Incubation Experimental School (collectively, the “Project Parties”) and you, regarding your access to and experience of the Cryptobiosis system in the capacity of a “Test Operator” (hereinafter the “System”).

Article 1 Scope and Legal Relationship

This Agreement only applies to your installation, operation and experience of Cryptobiosis and its related demonstration modules on your personal device.

This Agreement does not replace, conflict with, or amend in any way any agreement between you and Valve/Steam (including but not limited to the Steam Subscriber Agreement and the Steam Privacy Policy). In the event of any inconsistency between this Agreement and the foregoing agreements, the latter shall prevail.

If you do not agree to all or part of this Agreement, you should not install or run the work and should uninstall all related files from your device.

Article 2 Definitions

For the purposes of this Agreement, unless otherwise specified, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:

“The System” refers to the Cryptobiosis system designed by Hengshu Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. and deployed on a pilot basis at Gaoyuan Panoptic Incubation Experimental School, including its visual interface, narrative content, operating logic and background logging modules.

“Test Operator” refers to any natural person who voluntarily installs and runs the work and, in a simulated capacity, participates in scenario drills, stress tests and narrative experience within the System.

“Session” refers to the continuous interactive process and its Structured Record generated during the period from a Test Operator launching the System to exiting the System.

“Structured Record” refers to the automatic recording and processing, by the System during operation, of the Test Operator’s reading behaviour, quiz results, choice paths, time spent, runtime environment and other relevant data.

Article 3 Access Eligibility and Code of Conduct

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, possess full civil capacity, and are entitled to independently decide whether to participate in this pilot System.

You must ensure that your runtime environment meets the following conditions:

A stable network connection, in order to satisfy the requirement of “full-time online operation” and necessary log transmission;

A device and operating system capable of properly running the work;

Permission for the System to use reasonable processor, storage and bandwidth resources during operation.

During your experience, you undertake that you will:

Not damage, bypass or interfere in any way with the normal operation, logging or sealing procedures of the System;

Not engage in illegal reverse engineering, cracking, unauthorised modification or commercial redistribution of the work;

Not use the System to conduct any activity that violates applicable laws and regulations or public order and good morals.

The System is currently in a pilot phase and is used only for scenario simulation, system stability verification and narrative experience. It is not used to make any real-world decisions concerning admissions, promotion, employment or similar matters for any individual.

Article 4 Data Collection, Use and Fictionalisation

During your use of the System, the System may automatically record and upload to servers controlled by the Project Parties or to third-party infrastructure the following information:

Runtime data directly related to the System (such as level progress, reading time, quiz results and error codes);

Behavioural data related to the narrative experience (such as time spent on specific NPC texts, reading completion, choice paths and repeated visits);

Limited technical information necessary for troubleshooting (such as platform type and basic performance metrics).

The System is not designed to identify you in the real world and will not proactively request or require you to provide personal data that directly identifies you (such as real name, address or ID number). If you voluntarily enter real-world identity information in nickname fields or elsewhere, you shall independently assess and assume the resulting risk.

For the purpose of scenario simulation and stress testing, the campus environment, school names, geographic indicators and personal names displayed by the System are virtual data automatically generated or compositely reconstructed from de-identified samples. They do not correspond to any specific real-world school, institution or individual. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.

The Project Parties may use the above Structured Records for:

Maintenance, troubleshooting and performance optimisation of the System;

Statistical analysis and visualisation of indicators such as group rhythm and reading paths (only in anonymous, aggregated form);

Academic research, exhibitions or text production related to this work, provided that they are not aimed at identifying your real-world identity.

In limited cases, the System may label certain Sessions with special codes (including but not limited to “OVERLAY-1991”) solely for anomalous data analysis and version tracing. Such labels shall not be construed as any real-world judgment or sanction against an individual.

Article 5 Risk Warning and Adverse Reactions

As a stress-test and scenario simulation system, some content may include:

High-frequency flickering or rapidly changing visual effects;

Intense sound stimuli, noise, public address announcements and rhythmic slogans;

Emotionally charged narratives relating to school life and exam pressure.

If you have photosensitive epilepsy, severe visual or auditory sensitivity, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or any other condition that may be aggravated by strong visual or auditory stimuli, you should carefully evaluate the risks before using the System and, where appropriate, consult a professional.

If you experience any discomfort during use (including without limitation dizziness, nausea, palpitations, breathing difficulty, strong anxiety or emotional distress), you are advised to stop using the work immediately, rest appropriately and seek medical or professional help if necessary.

This work does not constitute psychological treatment, counselling or medical service of any kind. The Project Parties are not responsible for personal decisions you make based on this work.

Article 6 Session Termination and Record Sealing

You may terminate the current Session at any time by exiting normally, closing the program or using the operating system’s standard functions.

To ensure integrity of the records, the System may, where necessary, initiate an automatic sealing procedure (including but not limited to at the end of final examinations, upon critical errors or prolonged inactivity). Structured Records within the sealing period will be stored with version numbers and timestamps.

For Sessions interrupted by abnormal means such as power failure or forced process termination, the System may register the final examination as abandoned and mark the Session accordingly.

Unless otherwise required by applicable laws and regulations, the Project Parties do not undertake to retain your personal Session records for any specific period.

Article 7 Reservation of Rights and Use Restrictions

The work and all its content (including but not limited to program code, images, text, audio, layout and world-building) are protected by copyright and related rights.

Subject to your full compliance with this Agreement, the Project Parties grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and run the work on compatible devices for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

Unless explicitly permitted by mandatory law and not waivable by contract, you shall not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the work;

Modify, copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, rent or use the work for any commercial purpose;

Create derivative works based on the work as a whole or any part thereof without authorisation.

The Project Parties reserve the right to update, modify or discontinue the work and/or this Agreement where necessary. Revised terms may be published via Steam or other platforms and shall take effect upon publication or on such date as may be specified.

Article 8 Real-World Supplementary Statement

The style and wording of this Agreement intentionally imitate a “pilot system access protocol” and form part of the narrative universe and artistic expression of the interactive work Cryptobiosis.
