PLEASE READ THIS END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT ("EULA") CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING OR USING THE SOFTWARE. BY INSTALLING OR USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS EULA. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS EULA, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.

Welcome to the closed alpha playtest of "Macabre" ("Software") developed by WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD ("Licensor," "we," "us," or "our"). This EULA governs your participation in the alpha playtest and outlines the terms and conditions under which you may access and use "Macabre" in this closed-alpha environment.

WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD grants you ("Licensee") a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software solely for the purpose of participating in the closed alpha playtest. This licence is granted only to individuals who have been explicitly authorised to participate.


3.1 General Restrictions
You may not:

• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, distribute, or otherwise exploit the Software for any commercial purposes.
  
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the Software.
  
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software.
  
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices or labels on the Software.

Note: This alpha playtest is confidential, and you must comply with additional requirements specified in Section 3.2.

3.2 Alpha Playtest (Confidentiality) Restrictions
During your participation in this closed alpha playtest, you agree to:

• Non-Disclosure: Refrain from streaming, recording, sharing, or releasing any gameplay footage, screenshots, or other content from the alpha playtest outside of the designated channels on our official Discord server without prior written consent from WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD.
  
• Limited Sharing Within Alpha Rift: You may share alpha-related content (such as footage, screenshots) only within the designated "Alpha Rift" Discord channels provided by WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD.
  
• Confidentiality: All information about the Software (features, gameplay mechanics, unreleased content, etc.) is considered confidential and must not be disclosed to any third party unless expressly authorised.
  
• Closed Participation: You may not invite or allow others to participate in this alpha unless explicitly approved by WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD.

Violations of Section 3.2 will result in immediate termination of your alpha playtest access.

To ensure optimal performance of "Macabre", your device should meet or exceed the following system requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  
• Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU
  
• Memory: 16GB RAM
  
• Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU
  
• DirectX: Version 12
  
• Storage: 50GB SSD available space
  
• Additional: Broadband Internet connection and a high-quality microphone

• Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
  
• Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K or AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU
  
• Memory: 32GB RAM
  
• Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU

• Storage: 50GB NVMe SSD available space
  
• Additional: High-speed Internet connection and a high-quality microphone

5.1 Conduct Guidelines
While using "Macabre", you may have access to in-game communication features (chat, voice, etc.). You agree to:

• Respectful Behaviour: Do not use abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory, or discriminatory language.
  
• No Harassment: Refrain from harassing, bullying, or intimidating other players.
  
• Protect Privacy: Refrain from sharing personal data (yours or others’).
  
• No Spam: Avoid unsolicited advertisements or excessive posting.
  
• Prohibited Content: Do not share illegal, offensive, or infringing materials.

5.2 Consequences of Misconduct
Misconduct can lead to:

• Formal warnings.
  
• Temporary suspension of chat or other features.
  
• Termination of your user account.
  
• Permanent ban from the alpha playtest.

5.3 Company Liability
WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD is not responsible for user-generated communications or interactions. All content is solely the responsibility of the user who creates it.


6.1 Grant of Rights
If you provide WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about "Macabre", you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and incorporate this feedback into "Macabre" or other products/services.

6.2 No Obligation
We are not required to use any feedback you provide.

"Macabre" may be accessed globally via Steam, but WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD does not guarantee it is lawful everywhere. You are responsible for local law compliance.


8.1 Crash Logs
We may collect crash logs (hardware specs, system settings, Steam ID, etc.) via Unreal Crash Log Reporter. This data is used strictly for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

8.2 Crash Log Reporting to Third Parties
Crash logs are shared with Bugsplat. By participating in the alpha, you consent to sharing crash data with Bugsplat under their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

8.3 Analytics Tracking
Analytics tracking (e.g., gameplay behaviour, feature usage, session durations) is mandatory. By playing the alpha, you consent to data collection and analysis used to improve "Macabre".

8.4 Consent to Data Collection
By installing and using "Macabre", you acknowledge and agree to these data collection practices and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not install or use the Software.


9.1 Bugsplat Integration
"Macabre" uses Bugsplat for crash reporting. By playing the alpha, you agree to Bugsplat’s Privacy Policy and Terms.

9.2 Other Third-Party Services
The Software may include additional third-party tools. Your use of these tools is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD is not responsible for their practices or content.


10.1 Account Creation and Security
You may need an account to access the alpha. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and must report any unauthorised account use immediately.

10.2 Prohibited Account Activities
Do not share, sell, or transfer your account. Doing so will result in suspension or termination.


11.1 Kickstarter Access
Access to this alpha is primarily provided through Kickstarter pledges. Your pledge supports "Macabre"’s development and grants alpha participation.

11.2 Backer Benefits
Kickstarter backers gain alpha access, early features, and exclusive rewards. Steam’s public demo refund policy does not apply to Kickstarter pledges.

11.3 Promotional Codes
Promotional codes (if offered) are subject to specific terms. They are not redeemable for cash unless explicitly stated.


12.1 Violation Warning System
WeForge Studio enforces these rules via a tiered approach:

• First Violation (Warning): You receive a formal notice (in-game or email).
  
• Second Violation (Temporary Restrictions): Chat suspensions, limited matchmaking, or temporary bans.
  
• Severe or Repeated Violations (Permanent Restriction): Permanent ban from the alpha.

12.2 Immediate Termination for Severe Violations
We may terminate alpha access without warning for severe infractions (cheating, hacking, harassment, refusal to report exploits, etc.).

12.3 Appeal Process
If you believe an enforcement action is unfair, contact us at hello@weforgestudio.com to request a review.

12.4 Steam Account vs. Alpha Access
WeForge Studio can only restrict your "Macabre" alpha access, not your overall Steam account.

The Licensor may provide updates to the alpha build. Unless accompanied by a separate licence, these are covered by this EULA.

The Licensor warrants that the Software will perform substantially as described for 30 days from initial alpha access. OTHER THAN THIS, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS.”

WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid (if any) for alpha access.

You agree to indemnify WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD from all claims or damages arising from your breach of this EULA or misuse of the Software.


17.1 Governing Law
This EULA is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction still apply, if applicable.

17.2 Informal Resolution
In any dispute, you must first contact hello@weforgestudio.com and attempt to resolve the issue amicably.


18.1 Ownership
"Macabre" is owned by WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD. All rights remain with us.

18.2 Trade Mark Usage
You must not use any WeForge Studio trade marks, service marks, or logos without written permission.

18.3 DMCA Compliance
If you believe "Macabre" content infringes your copyright:

20.1 Entire Agreement
This EULA supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings regarding the alpha.

20.2 Severability
Invalid terms do not affect remaining valid terms.

20.3 Non-Waiver
Failure to enforce a right does not waive it.

20.4 Assignment
WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD may assign or transfer its rights without notice; you must obtain our permission to assign yours.

20.5 No Third-Party Beneficiaries
No party other than you and us has rights under this EULA.


21.1 Licence Grant for Publicly Accessible Content
If, and only if, you are authorised to share alpha content publicly (i.e., with prior written consent from WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD), you grant WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable, and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, modify (for formatting or length only), adapt, create derivative works from, publicly perform, and publicly display that content solely for the purpose of promoting or marketing "Macabre". This licence applies only while your content remains publicly accessible.

21.2 No Impact on Creator Monetisation
We do not interfere with your ability to monetise or earn revenue from your user-generated content, and we owe no additional compensation for using publicly posted content.

21.3 Waiver of Claims
To the extent allowed by law, you waive moral rights or other claims against WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD for using your publicly posted content.

21.4 Ownership of Underlying Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of your own content, but "Macabre" remains property of WEFORGE STUDIO PTY LTD. Nothing in this EULA transfers any "Macabre" IP rights to you.

21.5 Content Posted in Alpha Channels
By posting any alpha-related content (e.g., screenshots, videos) in our private Alpha Rift Discord channels, you:

• Understand you remain bound by the confidentiality rules in Section 3.2 and may not publicly share alpha content without permission.
  
• Grant WeForge Studio the right to use and reproduce that alpha content for internal testing, quality assurance, and potential marketing — provided we do not violate your confidentiality (e.g., we won’t publicly post your alpha content without permission or anonymising details).
  
• Acknowledge we may repurpose these alpha materials in future promotional media (dev blogs, trailers, social media) if we deem it appropriate and consistent with alpha confidentiality obligations.
