End User License Agreement — Dough Boys
Kittychin Company, d/b/a Kittychin Arts
Last updated: 19 August 2026 · Distribution: Steam (exclusive) · Governing law: Delaware, USA · Scope: Worldwide

Drafting note (remove before publishing): this is a drafting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a licensed attorney, and revisit §15 once the Game has a formal content rating.

1. Acceptance of this Agreement
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a binding legal agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Kittychin Company, a Delaware corporation doing business as Kittychin Arts ("Kittychin Arts," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the video game Dough Boys, together with all related software, content, updates, downloadable content, and online services (collectively, the "Game").

By installing, accessing, or using the Game, you accept and agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Game, and uninstall any copy you already have. If you are accepting this Agreement on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are that minor's parent or legal guardian and agree to be bound by it on their behalf.

The Game is currently distributed exclusively through Valve Corporation's Steam platform ("Steam"). Your use of Steam is separately governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Valve's other policies, which are incorporated by reference. If this Agreement directly conflicts with the Steam Subscriber Agreement on a matter of platform distribution or billing, the Steam Subscriber Agreement controls on that matter; in all other respects, this Agreement governs your relationship with us regarding the Game.

2. Definitions
  • Game — Dough Boys, including its client software, art, audio, in-game text, DLC, updates, and the online services described in this Agreement.
  • Services — Online functionality supporting the Game, including matchmaking, session/lobby management, and peer-to-peer connection facilitation, currently provided in part through Epic Online Services.
  • DLC — Additional purchasable or downloadable content released for the Game after launch, including maps, modes, or cosmetic items.
  • Workshop Content — User-generated content created with any modding or Steam Workshop tools we make available for the Game.
  • Virtual Items — In-game cosmetic items, currency, or unlocks with no real-world monetary value.

3. License grant and restrictions
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and the Steam Subscriber Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, personal license to install and use one copy of the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment purposes on a device you own or control. This license does not transfer ownership of the Game to you, and all rights not expressly granted here are reserved by us and our licensors.

You agree not to:
  • Copy, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Game;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Game, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any technical protection measure or anti-cheat system used with the Game;
  • Use cheats, aimbots, wallhacks, automation ("bots"), exploits, or unauthorized third-party software that alters online gameplay or gives an unfair advantage;
  • Host or operate unauthorized servers, relays, or matchmaking services that purport to be part of the Game; or
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notice on or in the Game.

4. Ownership
The Game — including its code, art, characters, world, and the Dough Boys name and logo — is owned by Kittychin Company and its licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws worldwide. No ownership rights are transferred to you under this Agreement; you own only the license described in Section 3.

5. Steam
The Game requires a valid Steam account and the Steam client to install, authenticate, and play, and is not currently offered through any other storefront. Your Steam account, purchases, and billing are governed by Valve's own terms, not by us. We do not control Steam's availability, and if Steam is unavailable to you for any reason, your access to the Game may be affected without any guarantee of an alternative from us.

6. Unreal Engine and Epic Online Services
The Game is built using Unreal Engine, a product of Epic Games, Inc. ("Epic"). It also uses Epic Online Services ("EOS"), a backend platform Epic provides that supports matchmaking, session and lobby management, and the connection facilitation (including NAT traversal and relay) used to establish peer-to-peer matches described in Section 7.

Your use of EOS-powered features is subject to Epic's own terms and privacy policy, which govern any information EOS processes on Epic's infrastructure to establish and maintain your connections. We do not control Epic's infrastructure and are not responsible for its availability, security, or data handling. Depending on which features are enabled, some parts of the Game may require you to separately accept Epic's end-user terms for EOS.

Note: even though we do not currently collect telemetry ourselves, Steam and Epic Online Services independently collect account, connection, and diagnostic data to operate their own platforms. Consider publishing a separate Privacy Policy describing this.

7. Online play and peer-to-peer networking
Dough Boys' multiplayer is peer-to-peer: instead of routing gameplay traffic through servers we operate, your device connects directly — or via EOS relay/NAT traversal when a direct connection isn't possible — to the devices of other players in your match. As a direct consequence of this architecture:
  • Other players in your match, and Epic's EOS relay infrastructure where it is used, may be able to see your device's IP address and approximate network location during a match;
  • We do not operate, monitor, or log the content of this peer-to-peer traffic, and we do not currently collect telemetry about your matches;
  • We cannot guarantee the security, latency, or availability of connections between you and other players, since these depend on your and their network conditions, ISPs, and Epic's infrastructure, none of which we control; and
  • We may, at our discretion, change the Game's online architecture at any time — including introducing dedicated servers, additional relays, or telemetry and anti-cheat systems — most likely in connection with future updates or DLC, as described in Sections 12 and 13.
If you are concerned about IP exposure to other players, consider using any relay-based connection option offered in-game, or a reputable VPN, at your own discretion and risk.

8. Voice chat and text chat
The Game includes optional in-match voice chat (VOIP) and text chat so players can communicate with others in their session.
  • We do not record, log, or store the content of voice chat. Audio is transmitted in real time between participants — directly or via relay infrastructure — and is not retained by us afterward.
  • We do not store text chat messages. Messages are delivered to other participants in your match and are not archived by us.
  • Because we retain nothing, we cannot review historical chat logs to investigate a reported incident. Moderation relies on the in-game mute, block, and report tools and on other players' contemporaneous reports; we may still act — including suspension or a ban — on a credible report even without a recording to review.
  • Voice and text chat are not private or confidential. Other participants in your match may hear, read, or independently record what you say. If you choose to record another player, you are solely responsible for complying with any recording-consent or wiretapping laws that apply to you; we are not a party to, and accept no liability for, such recordings.
Use of voice and text chat is still subject to the Code of Conduct in Section 9. Because these channels aren't recorded, we encourage you to use the mute, block, and report tools proactively to protect your own experience.

9. Code of conduct
When using the Game's online features, including voice and text chat, you agree not to:
  • Cheat, hack, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, or use unauthorized third-party software;
  • Harass, threaten, or target other players, or post hate speech, discriminatory content, or sexually explicit material;
  • Dox or share another person's private information without consent;
  • Impersonate Kittychin Arts staff, other players, or any real person or organization;
  • Advertise, spam, or solicit other players for unrelated commercial purposes; or
  • Attempt to evade a suspension or ban, including by creating a new account.
Violations may result in a warning, mute, kick, or a temporary or permanent ban from online features, at our discretion, without entitling you to a refund except where required by the Steam refund policy or applicable law.

10. Steam Workshop and user-generated content
If we enable Steam Workshop or other content-creation tools for the Game, you may be able to create and share custom content such as maps, skins, or other assets ("Workshop Content").
  • You retain ownership of Workshop Content that is your own original work.
  • By submitting Workshop Content, you grant Kittychin Company a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, publicly display, and otherwise use it in connection with the Game and its promotion, including by making it available to other players.
  • You represent that your Workshop Content is your own original creation, or that you hold all rights necessary to submit it, and that it does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
  • We may remove, disable, or decline to distribute any Workshop Content at our discretion, including in response to a valid intellectual property complaint (such as a DMCA notice) or a Code of Conduct violation.
  • We do not compensate contributors for Workshop Content unless separately agreed in writing — for example, under a future creator-revenue program.

11. DLC, purchases, and Virtual Items
We may release DLC, cosmetic items, or other purchasable content for the Game through Steam. All purchases are processed by Valve, and billing, payment, and refund requests are subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Valve's refund policy, not this Agreement. Virtual Items have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for real currency, and exist only for use within the Game. We may change, rebalance, or discontinue any DLC, pricing, or Virtual Items at any time.

12. Updates and service availability
We may release updates or patches to the Game at any time, including changes to gameplay, balance, online architecture, security, or anti-cheat systems. A future update may introduce new functionality, including optional or required telemetry, analytics, or additional third-party services; any such change will be reflected in an updated Agreement and, where applicable, a separate Privacy Policy, before or at the time it takes effect. We do not guarantee that the Game or its Services will remain available indefinitely, and may suspend or discontinue online functionality, including EOS-dependent matchmaking, with reasonable notice where practicable.

13. Changes to this Agreement
We may amend this Agreement at any time — including in connection with new DLC, Workshop or UGC features, new online services, or changes in law. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and post the revised Agreement on the Game's Steam store page and/or our website. For changes that materially affect your rights, we'll also try to flag it with an in-game prompt at your next launch.

Continuing to install, access, or use the Game after a revision takes effect means you accept it. If you don't agree, your remedy is to stop using the Game and uninstall it — declining an update needed to keep playing may make some previously purchased DLC or Virtual Items inaccessible.

14. Term and termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. It ends automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. We may suspend or terminate your license and your access to online features at our discretion, with or without notice, for violations of this Agreement — including the Code of Conduct — or for cheating, fraud, or abuse. On termination, you must stop using the Game and destroy any copies you hold. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 4, 8, 10, and 16 through 20 — do survive.

15. Age requirements and parental guidance
Dough Boys presents a stylized, non-graphic reimagining of an alternate Cold War conflict and does not depict gore or realistic violence. It nonetheless involves simulated armed combat and unmoderated real-time interaction with other players, including voice and text chat. The Game does not currently carry a formal content rating; once one is assigned (for example, by the ESRB, PEGI, or USK), it will be displayed on the Game's Steam store page and this section will be updated to reflect it.

The Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Game only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to this Agreement on your behalf and is responsible for your conduct in it, including in voice and text chat.

16. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Game and Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of other players' conduct or content, including anything said or shared in voice or text chat. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kittychin Company will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of the Game. Our total liability for any claim arising out of this Agreement or the Game will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Game in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (USD $50). This limitation applies even if a remedy fails its essential purpose, and does not apply where prohibited by law.

18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Kittychin Company harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of this Agreement, your misuse of the Game, any Workshop Content you submit, or your violation of any law or third party's rights.

19. Export control and sanctions
You may not use, export, or re-export the Game in violation of U.S. export control laws or other applicable trade sanctions. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government denied- or restricted-party list.

20. Governing law and dispute resolution
This Agreement and any dispute arising out of or relating to it or the Game are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and without regard to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

Forum. You and Kittychin Company agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Game will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, USA, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. This Agreement does not require arbitration; either party may bring a claim in court.

Consumer rights savings clause. This Agreement is intended for worldwide distribution. If you reside in a jurisdiction — such as the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, or Brazil — whose law grants you non-waivable consumer protections or a right to bring claims in your local courts, nothing in this Section limits those rights, and the forum selection above applies only to the extent permitted by that law.

21. General provisions
  • Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with any policy it references, is the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Game, and supersedes any prior agreement on the subject.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be interpreted to best reflect its original intent.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment. We may assign this Agreement, including in connection with a merger or sale of assets; you may not assign it without our written consent.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Third-party beneficiaries. Valve Corporation and Epic Games, Inc. may enforce the provisions of this Agreement that concern their respective platforms and services.
