STEAM END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA) FOR AMARANTH SOURCE ONLINE
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By installing, accessing, or using this Game, you agree to be bound by this End User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not agree to this EULA, do not install, access, or use the Game.
This EULA applies in addition to the Steam Subscriber Agreement and any applicable Steam platform rules. If any part of this EULA conflicts with mandatory law or Steam platform policy, that part will apply only to the maximum extent permitted.
2. LICENSE GRANT
The Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Game for personal, non-commercial entertainment through Steam.
You do not receive ownership of the Game, its code, servers, databases, tools, assets, accounts, characters, virtual items, in-game currency, progression data, or online services.
3. SECURITY, CHEATING, AND UNAUTHORIZED USE
You agree NOT to:
Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, server logic, protocols, or internal systems of the Game, except where such restriction is not permitted by applicable law.
Create, use, distribute, advertise, or assist with cheats, automation software, bots, hacks, trainers, injectors, memory editors, packet tools, or any unauthorized third-party software or method that modifies the Game, automates gameplay, gives an unfair advantage, or changes the gameplay experience.
Deliberately exploit bugs, glitches, unintended mechanics, economy errors, duplication issues, security flaws, or server defects to gain an unfair advantage, harm other players, damage the world, or bypass intended gameplay rules.
Intercept, emulate, redirect, modify, replay, forge, or tamper with network traffic, data packets, authentication, sessions, communication protocols, or client-server messages used by the Game.
Host, provide, develop, distribute, or facilitate unauthorized matchmaking services, unofficial servers, private servers, server emulators, protocol emulators, or services that redirect or imitate the Developer's servers.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Game servers, host machines, databases, accounts, player data, infrastructure, administrative tools, source code, deployment systems, or any related service.
Launch, assist with, encourage, or participate in cyberattacks, including but not limited to DoS/DDoS attacks, flooding, packet abuse, credential attacks, account compromise, data theft, vulnerability exploitation, or attempts to disrupt the Game or its infrastructure.
4. ONLINE CODE OF CONDUCT, CHAT MODERATION, AND FAIR PLAY
The Game includes online multiplayer features and communication tools. You agree to behave respectfully, keep communication orderly, and play fairly.
The Developer enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy for hate speech, severe harassment, and behavior that threatens the safety or integrity of the community. You are prohibited from engaging in, promoting, or distributing:
Hate Speech and Discrimination: Any content, text, name, symbol, or behavior that promotes hatred, discrimination, violence, or harassment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Extremism and Offensive Imagery: Nazi or extremist symbols, slogans, propaganda, or depictions associated with hate groups, war crimes, or extremist movements.
Severe Toxic Behavior: Inciting real-world violence, threats, doxxing, stalking, targeted harassment, relentless bullying, impersonation, or extreme abuse toward other players or the Developer.
The Developer may moderate chat and in-game activity, filter or remove text, restrict communication, mute accounts, change mechanics to prevent abuse, suspend access, or permanently terminate access to the Game for violations of this EULA or behavior that harms the Game, the server, the world, other players, or the Developer.
5. ACCOUNTS, CHARACTERS, ITEMS, PROGRESS, AND GAME DATA
All accounts, characters, souls, names, virtual items, abilities, spells, talents, currencies, world changes, progression, rankings, logs, and other in-game data are part of the Game service and remain under the control of the Developer. You do not own this data, and it has no real-money value.
The Developer may alter, remove, redesign, rebalance, restore, reset, delete, or otherwise modify in-game data, characters, items, abilities, spells, talents, world state, economy state, server state, or gameplay mechanics when the Developer considers it necessary or appropriate for balance, maintenance, updates, technical stability, security, exploit mitigation, anti-cheat enforcement, database repair, world integrity, or continued operation of the Game.
Because this is an online world operated by an independent solo developer, data loss, corruption, rollback, reset, deletion, character loss, item loss, progress loss, or world-state loss may occur due to bugs, crashes, exploits, cyberattacks, unauthorized access, hardware failure, hosting failure, software defects, database errors, backup failure, maintenance, moderation actions, anti-cheat actions, or other technical or operational events.
The Developer may restore the Game from backups, roll back the database to a previous state, wipe corrupted or compromised data, remove exploited items or progress, reset affected accounts or world regions, disable features, or take other corrective action without compensation when the Developer considers it necessary to protect the Game, the server, the economy, other players, or the long-term operation of the world.
The Developer may try to preserve player progress and world continuity where practical, but this EULA does not guarantee that any account, character, item, name, location, world change, or progression will remain available, unchanged, recoverable, or error-free.
6. SOLO DEVELOPMENT AND SERVER LIFECYCLE
The Game is developed and operated by an independent solo developer without a large studio, dedicated operations team, or guaranteed long-term funding.
The Game, servers, optional subscription services, account services, matchmaking, authentication, world simulation, and other online features may be interrupted, limited, suspended, restarted, rolled back, migrated, shut down, or permanently discontinued due to maintenance, technical problems, critical bugs, exploits, cyberattacks, security investigations, hosting issues, financial insolvency, bankruptcy, project unsustainability, platform requirements, legal requirements, or other operational reasons.
The Developer may suspend or shut down servers without prior notice when immediate action is needed to investigate, prevent, limit, or repair bugs, exploits, attacks, data corruption, security incidents, or other serious problems.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Steam Subscriber Agreement, and Steam platform policies, the Developer is not required to provide refunds, compensation, replacement items, replacement progress, subscription extensions, or other remedies for downtime, rollbacks, data loss, item loss, character loss, server shutdown, service interruption, bans, moderation actions, or discontinuation of the Game or online services.
7. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND OPTIONAL SUPPORT
The Game may include optional subscription or support services. Such services do not grant ownership of the Game, the servers, accounts, characters, items, guilds, world state, or any other in-game data.
Subscription benefits, if any, may be changed, limited, suspended, removed, or discontinued for balance, technical, operational, platform, legal, or financial reasons. Subscriptions are subject to Steam platform rules and any applicable Steam payment, billing, and refund policies.
8. TERMINATION AND BANNING POLICY
The Developer may, at its sole discretion, suspend, restrict, mute, terminate, or permanently ban your access to the Game and its servers if you violate this EULA, cheat, exploit bugs, attack or disrupt infrastructure, harass others, distribute prohibited content, abuse game mechanics, compromise accounts, interfere with fair play, or otherwise harm the Game, the server, the world, other players, or the Developer.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Steam Subscriber Agreement, and Steam platform policies, no refunds, compensation, restoration, replacement items, replacement characters, or subscription extensions will be provided in case of a ban, suspension, or termination caused by a violation of this EULA.
9. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
The Developer does not guarantee that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, exploit-free, cheat-free, compatible with every system, permanently available, free from data loss, free from rollback, or available for any specific period of time.
The Developer does not guarantee that any character, account, item, progression, world state, server, subscription benefit, or online service will remain available, unchanged, recoverable, or preserved.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ITEMS, LOSS OF CHARACTERS, LOSS OF PROGRESS, LOSS OF ACCESS, LOSS OF SUBSCRIPTION TIME, LOSS OF EXPECTED BENEFIT, SERVER DOWNTIME, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE GAME.
Nothing in this EULA excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by applicable law.
11. CHANGES TO THE GAME AND THIS EULA
The Developer may update, modify, rebalance, restrict, remove, or discontinue features, mechanics, content, systems, subscriptions, servers, or online services at any time.
The Developer may update or modify this EULA from time to time. Continued use of the Game after an updated EULA becomes available constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law and Steam platform policies.
12. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
This EULA, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with it, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Developer resides, except where mandatory consumer protection laws or the Steam Subscriber Agreement require otherwise.
13. CONTACT AND REPORTING
Players may report bugs, exploits, cheating, security issues, or abusive behavior through the official channels provided by the Developer, the Game, or Steam. Reporting a bug or exploit in good faith does not authorize using it to gain an advantage, damage the world, harm other players, or disclose it publicly in a way that enables abuse.
