Please read this End-User License Agreement ("EULA") carefully before installing or using the Synthalingua software ("Software").

This EULA is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and the Licensor ("cyberofficial") for the Software. By installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, do not install or use the Software.

The Software is also protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties.


The source code for the Software is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, Version 3 ("AGPLv3"). A copy of this license is included with the Software. This EULA governs your use of the compiled, executable version of the Software and does not limit your rights under the AGPLv3, nor does it grant you any rights beyond those provided by the AGPLv3 with respect to the source code.


The Licensor grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the compiled version of the Software on your own devices in accordance with the terms of this EULA.


Synthalingua is provided as a tool for personal, educational, and experimental use. You agree to use the Software responsibly and ethically.

Permitted Uses. You may:

• Use the Software for personal, non-commercial purposes, including learning, entertainment, and personal understanding of foreign-language content.
  
• Use the Software to generate subtitles for audio or video content for which you hold the necessary rights.
  
• Experiment with the Software's AI capabilities for educational or research purposes.

Prohibited Uses. You shall not:

• Use the Software for any critical, official, or professional purposes where inaccuracies could lead to harm, including but not limited to legal, medical, or business communications, without independent verification by a qualified human expert.
  
• Use the Software in any way that violates the terms of service of any third-party platform, bypasses copyright protections, or circumvents paywalls.
  
• Use the Software for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to creating or disseminating misinformation, engaging in harassment, or violating privacy laws.
  
• Represent, publish, or distribute any output from the Software as being 100% accurate or an official translation without a clear disclaimer stating that it was generated by an AI tool and may contain errors.
  
• Use the Software to process, transcribe, or share any private or confidential communications without the explicit consent of all parties involved.

Synthalingua is a self-hosted tool. The Licensor does not collect, store, or have access to any audio you process or any transcriptions you generate through your use of the Software. You are solely responsible for the data you process with the Software.


THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE SOFTWARE PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION.


IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, DATA BEING RENDERED INACCURATE, OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES, OR A FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAMS), EVEN IF SUCH HOLDER OR OTHER PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.


This EULA will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies of the Software in your possession.


This EULA constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Licensor concerning the subject matter hereof. If any provision of this EULA is held to be unenforceable, the remainder of this EULA will continue in full force and effect.

By using Synthalingua, you acknowledge that you have read this EULA, understand it, and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.
