1. Acceptance

This End User License Agreement ('Agreement') governs your use of the Zugnaex software ('Software') and the DBZ online services ('Service'). By installing, copying, launching, or using the Software or Service, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or Service.

2. Definitions

Software means the Zugnaex client software and any accompanying files. Service means DBZ, including matchmaking, battle servers, hosted WAD distribution, APIs, websites, and related online functionality. The Software and Service are separate offerings and may have different licensing terms where applicable.

3. Eligibility

By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you may not use the Service.

4. Open Source License

The Zugnaex client is licensed under the GNU General Public License Version 2 (GPLv2) or later. Nothing in this Agreement limits the rights granted to you under the GPLv2 with respect to the Software itself. Where this Agreement conflicts with the GPLv2 regarding the Software, the GPLv2 governs.

5. Intellectual Property and Trademarks

Zugnaex is an unofficial client compatible with DOOM.
DBZ is a free online multiplayer hosting service.

Zugnaex and DBZ branding, website content, and documentation are the property of their respective owners unless otherwise indicated.

DOOM® and DOOM II® are registered trademarks of id Software LLC.

Zugnaex and DBZ are independent projects and are not affiliated with, approved by, sponsored by, or endorsed by id Software LLC, Bethesda Softworks LLC, ZeniMax Media Inc., Microsoft Corporation, or their respective affiliates.

DOOM, id Software, Steam, Valve, and other third-party trademarks are the property of their respective owners. References to these trademarks are for identification and compatibility purposes only. No sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation is implied.

6. DOOM Assets

Zugnaex does not include commercial DOOM game assets. You are responsible for legally obtaining any required game data.

7. Online Service Operation

DBZ provides optional online functionality including multiplayer battles, game modes, matchmaking, hosted content distribution, and related services. The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

8. Steam Integration

Zugnaex integrates with Steam through an external application. Steam accounts, Steam authentication, and Steam services remain subject to Valve's agreements. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account.

9. Online Service Acceptable Use and Limitations

You agree NOT to:
- cheat or intentionally exploit bugs
- interfere with multiplayer gameplay
- attempt unauthorized access to servers or accounts
- attack or disrupt the Service
- upload malicious software
- impersonate another user
- harass or threaten other players
- violate applicable laws
- use any offensive or inappropriate text when playing online

We may investigate violations and take appropriate action, including warnings, temporary suspensions, permanent bans, or legal action where appropriate. Online content and interactions are subject to very limited monitoring, filtering, control, and regulation. We request that you report any violations to us through Steam developer support.

10. User Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you create. By uploading content to DBZ, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, store, distribute, and display that content. You represent that you have the necessary rights to upload such content.

11. Privacy

To operate the Service, we use data such as:
- Steam account identifiers and authentication data used to verify access
- gameplay statistics (like health, ping, and score)
- server diagnostics
- crash reports
- connection information
- log information

We also use optional information you provide, including your username and group name. These may be left blank. A random username will be assigned if you do not provide one. Avoid using your real name or email address, as these names are shared, stored, and logged. Leaderboards may display these names for an indeterminate period, and they may appear in screenshots, streams, videos, or other public-facing media. Gameplay statistics such as health, ping, and score may be shared with other players.

The game client may ask for your birth date to verify that you are old enough to use the Service. Your birth date is not stored; only the result of the verification (yes or no) is retained.

Information may be retained only as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and operation of the Service. Under normal operation, server-side logs are deleted after approximately 30 days.

For online multiplayer battles, players connect to services located in the United States and may also connect to services hosted in other regions depending on the match or service availability. Information processed by these services may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for purposes other than providing a functional and enjoyable Service.

Please contact us through Steam developer support with questions or requests regarding your data.

12. Updates

We may release updates to the Software or Service. Some online features may require reasonably current versions of the Software.

You use the Software and Service entirely at your own risk and are solely responsible for any resulting costs, losses, or damages.

16. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate this Agreement, engage in abusive conduct, compromise security, or interfere with operation of the Service. Termination of access to the Service does not affect your rights under GPLv2 regarding the Software itself.

17. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. When these updates happen, we require that you agree again before you can play.

18. Agreement Acceptance Record

Your acceptance of this Agreement may be saved in a configuration file on your computer. This acceptance applies to anyone using the game on that computer, including family members or other users. You are responsible for ensuring that all users of the game comply with this Agreement.
