Adult Content Policy
Any action your character takes on another character should be via the 'attempt' command. This should be used before any emote involving interacting with another character. You have the absolute right to deny any attempt without providing a reason regardless of IC circumstances, it is your responsibility to use this right.
Your character may only discuss potentially disturbing or upsetting content with other characters with whom they are friends.
Speech which is racist, sexist or otherwise prejudiced, or speech that involves graphic descriptions of sex or violence requires the other character be at least casual friends level with your character.
Speech which involves hate-speech, or involves descriptions of crimes against children, suicide, sex crimes or torture requires the other character be at least good friends level with your character.
The only exception to this rule is when the discussion is about actual RP that happened between the characters having the conversation.
This means that no such content is permissible on a public channel or in IC public venues.
Characters can engage in this type of RP with others as long as it is gated behind an attempt or follows naturally from existing RP. So for example you might start with the attempt command to kiss someone, if they accept a scene might get progressively more explict but you would need to use attempt again if you wanted to significantly escalate or alter the trajectory of the writing. And afterwards you could discuss that scene in detail with your writing partner's character, but not with other characters you aren't not friends with. With them you could only discuss it in vague terms like mentioning that you 'hooked up' with the person similar to how such things are discussed in family friendly media.
We appreciate that mature themes can be an important part of fiction, but do not want to enable people flagrantly using sensitive topics for shock value or to try and upset people they do not like, hence this content is limited to stories amongst characters who already have established that they like RPing together.
You are responsible for having your character terminate any friendships that you do not wish them to have for content control reasons.
In the case that your character needs to discuss something involving sensitive content with a character they are not friends with, you should make the discussion more general or vague until it no longer qualifies as limited content.
Any attempt to game this system, to find ways to try and make people not deny attempts, to do things outside of the attempt system(such as putting disturbing text into the content of an attempt request), or finding ways to try and game up your friendship level with someone just to try and expose them to potentially disturbing content is a violation of the rules against system abuse and will be dealt with harshly.
The game otherwise operates on a system of presumed fiction, anything a character does is assumed to be the result of someone writing a fictional character and not representative of the player's personality, preferences or morality. Name calling or insults based on some attempt to psychoanalyse a player based on their character are just as liable to be considered rule-violating abuse as any other sort of insult.
