The Xbox 360 'Ultimate Edition' expanded port of ACE Team's fine first-person face-puncher Zeno Clash will feature a mode pitting players against the clock and their friends as well as the twisted foes, publisher Atlus has revealed with a new trailer.


Players of the new 'Zeno Rush' mode will have to defeat various sections of the game in as short a time as possible, with their scores published for all their Live pals to see. The new 'Timehammer' weapon will also set the clock back slightly as it breaks faces.


Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition might have missed its planned Xbox Live Arcade release date of March 30 but Atlus promises to give a new one "as soon as possible."

Zeno Clash's XBLA Release Is DelayedPerhaps you noticed that today Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition was supposed to release on Xbox Live Arcade. Perhaps you noticed that it did not. "It's been pushed back a tad," says the developer.


"Sorry about that to everyone," wrote Andres Bordeu on the ACE Team forums. "It should come out early April. Atlus will be releasing more info through one of the next press releases. Just a little more patience, it'll be out really soon. As soon as we have new info we'll post it somewhere here."



The open world fighting game's Ultimate Edition adds new attacks, weapons, enemies and a new game mode. There is no word yet on pricing, but based on the price tag of its PC version, it could be around 1200 Microsoft Points.

PC Gamer has chosen Zeno Clash as their Indie Game of 2009! The award appears in their March 2010 edition, at pages #66-67

This is easily one of the biggest awards Zeno Clash has ever received. Being chosen as IGOTY by such an influential and mainstream publication is pretty significant for everyone at ACE. A very big thanks to the whole PC Gamer staff for choosing our title!

Zeno Clash has just been nominated as one of the 5 finalists for 'best debut' in the Tenth Annual Game Developer Choice Awards!

For us this is like the "Oscars" of the industry, so we are very happy to be nominated. Some great games in the list. Torchlight is good competition. Fingers crossed for March!

Zeno Clash's music greatly contributed to create a game with unprecedented style, so we thought it was a great idea to release a music compilation that features re-edited & remastered tracks of the original score that was developed by our talented composer Patricio Meneses.

We're finally releasing the editing tools so the Zeno Clash community can develop their own levels and modifications for the game. We've created a Wiki entry with documentation so users can browse through the main changes and enhancements we've added to the Source Engine. The ACE Team wiki and SDK files are located at the following URL:

Here are the new features & fixes:

-Added damage counter and timer for challenge mode. Damage counter warns player 20 HP before losing to personal record. Timer warns player 20 sec before losing to personal record
-Animal cruelty achievement fixed. Works as global counter
-Added Italian language and translation credits to the game
-Fixed crash when switching shadow quality in-game
-Player auto-locks on to F-M when health drops to zero (Single-Player)
-Tower Challenge F-M does not require lock-on to defeat
-Fixed throwing your weapon in maps where it causes problems
-Player returns to Challenge screen when dying in a tower level
-Fixed timer bug when pausing a Tower Challenge
-Tweaked collision detection for uppercut finisher and deflect kick
-Player now does attack sound when throwing weapons
-Moved health fruit in final map so it is easier to pick up

The pack includes over 60 models including characters, creatures and weapons of the crazy world of Zenozoik.
