It is the second day of Amplified and it is time to go with Endless Day. Today we have quite a few news, but perhaps the most notable will be the beginning of Pre-Orders on Endless Dungeon.


Yes! It has been a long time, and we want to finally share with you that the release date for Endless Dungeon will be 18th of May 2023

With that wonderful news we wanted to start the pre-orders today, which will grant you access to a closed OpenDev, “Final Rodeo”, for the next 10 days, until the 30th of January, to try new things, compared to the latest “Second Chance” OpenDev.



What a trailer, I got goosebumps. I know... I am biased because I am working here... perhaps ?

So before we go into the details, to get access to the “Final Rodeo” you will need to preorder the digital Last Wish Edition. At the end of the blog we will explain in more detail all the different editions.

I know a lot of you will be asking what content will be available on "Final Rodeo", here you have it:

• New Boss: Yes, you can meet the Shelldiver (where? Well, we will let you discover it). What about the previous boss, Bug Momma? You already, more or less, know how to handle survive her.
• New Hero: Meet Comrade (the Gunsmith):
• Passive: Can heal generators and research machines
• Active: Place the Gunny turret (neutral damage). No turret slot needed
• Ultimate: Gunsmith becomes the Smith gun. Immovable, his weapon switches to a heavy-neutral damage- gun with high knockback
Apart from the Gunsmith, you can play Bunker, Blaze and Shroom. Zed is taking a nap right now.
• New event, the blackout: during your runs you may find some terminals (max 2), with which you can interact to get extra science. But once you have discovered two, it could happen that the entire district gets dark, and you will have to go back to those terminals to hack them to restore the electricity
• New languages (Ohhh Yeah!!): most parts of the game will be available in > English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese
• New weapons, hero chips, beverages etc.

Here is all the different content that will be available in the digital editions on PC and the physical edition (pre-orders will start Soon™), which will include an exclusive card game and the digital art book.
Note that to get access to the closed OpenDev "Final Rodeo": It will be available only with the PC Last Wish Digital Edition.





We know most of you have been reading the different Endless Space 2 Stories that we have been publishing in the reward section. But we didn’t want to stop it there.


That is why we have partnered with the publisher, Titan Comics, to have a physical edition which will contain all the Endless™ Space 2: Stories, that will be releasing on the 7th of March. Apart from the stories, this edition will bring more lore and some “behind the scenes” of the design.

Now that we are talking about Endless Space 2... Super excited to announce that we are working with some members of the community on a patch for Endless Space 2, with a focus on the last DLC, Awakening, and some bug fixing and balance. Keep an eye as we might release a Beta, Soon™, for you to try the different changes and get extra feedback on it.



We wanted to take the opportunity to remind you of the different rewards that started alongside Amplified 2023.

You may have heard of our next game, ENDLESS™ Dungeon, the spiritual successor to Dungeon of the Endless. Built around a similar concept of tower-defense dungeon-crawling, Endless Dungeon makes some big changes to the core gameplay, and it's time to test that new core with our fans!


Feedback from our players is crucial to our way of making games, so we always want to give you a chance to try our games as soon as possible. However, to be most useful, feedback needs to be discussed with a clear reference point. If the context of feedback keeps changing with the developing game, the discussions can get confusing... So we have created the OpenDev program to get your feedback on a snapshot of the game with specific features we want your feedback on.




For this ENDLESS™ Dungeon OpenDev, this would be the core loop of exploring, preparing your defenses, and fighting. We want to hear from you about how the game feels from moment to moment, but also what you think of the pacing. As we want to focus on this, neither meta-progression between runs nor story content will be featured in this version, but we think there’s still plenty to dig your teeth into during the OpenDev in early July.


This OpenDev will be free of charge to enter, but the number of players will be limited. So if you want to give the game a try, head over to Games2Gether to fill out the signup form (a free Games2Gether account is required), and if you are selected, you'll receive and email in July. Once you've tried the game, we’d love to hear your thoughts in our forum! But we know jumping into a discussion with passionate people can be daunting, so the OpenDev version also includes a survey every time you finish the game, so we can hear from everyone who tried the game.

You may have already heard about our upcoming game Endless Dungeon. If you haven’t, it’s a spiritual successor to Dungeon of the ENDLESS™: Same rogue-lite tower-defense dungeon-crawl, new gameplay, new location, new stories, new heroes! And we have just released a new Hero Reveal for the resident tank/Sheriff, 1_14nn1841 Shield.v.06.08... Actually, let’s stick with Bunker.

At Amplified, we dropped a lot of Endless content, but not all of you could join us for our celebration, so we want to highlight one piece in particular: The hero reveal video for Zedoé "Zed" Kovlava for Endless Dungeon, the spiritual sequel to Dungeon of the Endless.

The new year has rolled around, and that means it is time again at last!

“Time? Time for what?” some of you might ask, especially those who joined us over the past few months to talk about or maybe even try out Humankind. The answer is simple: Amplitude’s birthday!

Every year in January, we celebrate the founding of Amplitude Studios, the creation of the Endless universe, and our work with the community over the years. While it started small back in the day, the celebration has grown just as much as Amplitude, lasting several days with a fan meeting, streams with special guests from the studio, and new rewards on Games2Gether. This year is particularly special though – 10 years of Amplitude, and Humankind joining the celebration – so we thought it was time for a brand new name: Please, join us for AMPLIFIED 2021!



So, if you want to learn more about Amplitude and our games, stick around for the next few days, and stay tuned for some announcements in the next few days. We are extremely excited for Humankind to join our portfolio soon, but we still love the Endless™ Universe, and we know so do many of you, so to celebrate 10 years of the Endless Universe, we want to invite you to participate in a low-budget cosplay competition. Grab whatever you have on hand and throw together a quick costume of any character from the Endless universe. (By our last count, there’s about 300 of them, so there’s plenty of choice!)

I know creating a cosplay may sound daunting at first, but remember this is not about creating a detailed costume, but about being clever with what you have on hand to show who you are cosplaying, and (most importantly) having fun! Just check out these two brilliant in-house examples.


Can you tell which characters these are?


So now that you got a cosplay costume, how do you participate in the contest, and what can you win? Just three simple steps, only one of which takes any work on your part!

1. Post a photo of your cosplay to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #AmplifiedCosplay before Friday, 22nd of January, 9:00 CET. By submitting your contest entry, you agree that we may retweet, repost, or otherwise share the picture to promote the contest and pick a winner.
2. Once submissions are closed, Amplitude will pick their top ten favorites to enter the finale.
3. During our stream on Friday, we will present our top ten and let the viewers cast their votes for the grand winner.

The top ten entries will all receive one Endless game or DLC of their choice, while the top three will receive additional prizes:

• Third place: A Humankind Steam key
• Second Place: Their choice of one Endless game and associated DLCs, plus a Humankind key
• First Place: All Endless games and associated DLCs, plus a Humankind key

As always for our anniversary, we’re adding more rewards to Games2Gether as well, available to be claimed on your rewards page on G2G:

We're thrilled to tell you all about Endless Dungeon today, our return to the Endless Universe and our next foray into the rogue-lite genre! We may be best known for our turn-based strategy games, but many of us have a soft spot for rogue-lites and dungeon crawlers, so we’re excited to dive back in with our new rogue-lite tactical action game. 





Shipwrecked on an abandoned space station of the ancient and powerful Endless civilization, your only hope of ever leaving is to unravel the secrets of this place. You assemble your team of heroes and defend your crystal against never-ending waves of monsters as you delve deep into the heart of this cursed place... or (perhaps inevitably) die trying, and find yourself back where you began, for death is not the end here.



But it’s always best to be prepared, so what can you expect to find in the Endless Dungeon? 

• A Brand New Story in the Endless Universe: The Endless universe is full of mysteries, but stranded on this station there is only one you truly care about: What is keeping you trapped on this station and coming back to life? As many stories as this place and the people here have to tell, you don’t fancy sticking around for decades like some of them... 
• Tactical Team-building Exercise: You’re not the only one who wants to get out of here, so gather your posse from a colorful roster of characters and see if this time, your combined skills are enough to make it to the heart of the station. Switch between heroes on the fly in single player, or bring along a friend to face the Endless threats together in co-op.
  
• Dangerous Exploration, at your own pace: When just about everything on the station is trying to kill you, you might need a break. So take a breather. Look around. Plan and prepare. Then kick down the next door and let another wave of monsters crash over you in a frenzy of claws and gunfire until only you or they are left standing. (We do not recommend actually kicking the doors, as they’re quite robust...)
  
• Rock-hard Defenses: You may not know what this crystal is, but you know it’s vital to your survival and your escape. You need it to unlock doors and power the systems of this station so you can finally leave, but all these critters around have an appetite for it. Luckily, you have a variety of turrets and other automated defenses at your disposal, so you can always bring an extra gun or two to the showdown.
  

Hang on a minute! Crashed in the ruins of an ancient precursor empire? A mysterious crystal to power their wondrous technology? Turrets to fend of endless waves of enemies that make escape virtually impossible? All of this will sound very familiar to many of you, bringing back memories of our first venture into the rogue-lite genre, Dungeon of the Endless. 

That spiritual ancestor to Endless Dungeon was born from an idea – more of a joke, really – kicked around at one of our community events. A small team of devs assembled a prototype, and we knew we had something special on our hands with our “Roguelike Tower-Defense Dungeon Crawler”: It’s as wild a ride as that mouthful of a genre description. Yet we did not expect it to become such a hit with our fans, a passionate community quickly growing around it. 

We’ve learned a lot from making that game, the feedback our community gave us, and the stories they told of their best moments with it. So we’ve taken it back to the drawing board and built an entirely new experience with the same spirit, emphasizing direct control of the action and a great multiplayer experience, while keeping the same focus on tactical combat, wave-based defenses, and exploration!
