Divinity: Dragon Commander - DeathKnight
Hello everybody!

Quite a lot of new features in our latest Divinity: Dragon Commander patch.

The new battle report system gives you detailed stats on your performance in combat, and the gifting system now allows you to gift units, resources and buildings to your allies, making multiplayer campaigns that more interesting.

We’ve also added a global chat system, improved the turn-based AI and added a bunch of community requests.

Here’s a list with the most important changes:

  • Added Global chat

  • Added battle result window with extensive combat stats and graphs

Quite a lot of new features in our latest Divinity: Dragon Commander patch.

The new battle report system gives you detailed stats on your performance in combat, and the gifting system now allows you to gift units, resources and buildings to your allies, making multiplayer campaigns that more interesting.

Update v1.0.64 (additions to v1.0.55 preview patch):

  • Black screen or crash when clicking Multiplayer

  • Fix for unloading transports

If anyone still has problems with starting multiplayer games, please let us know as soon as possible.

Divinity: Dragon Commander v1.0.55 contains the following changes:

  • RTS follow behaviour improvements
  • Kiting RTS AI by drawing units back should no longer be possible
  • General Strategymap AI improvements (improved attacks & expanding)

  • Fixed a crash that happened on return to lobby vs three AI's
  • Fixed a team/faction issue that caused instant win or loss when entering RTS combat
  • Fixed a crash on next loading screen if client is returned to main menu from battle result (when host disconnects for example)
  • Fixed issue with units disappearing after catherine decision (lose 10% of your army)
  • Fixed issue with disappearing armies dues to saving between combats in the same turn

  • Fixed an issue with gamespeed being incorrect after loading of savegame

Note: The preview branch is meant as a beta-version of upcoming patches. It is not as stable as the default live branch.

How to activate the preview branch:
  • go to your library in steam, right click on Divinity: Dragon Commander and select properties.
  • You will see a tab BETAS on the top.
  • Select it and enter the following code in the private betas section: W7QQVNWzQ8X8QRd6
  • You should now have a "Preview" option in the dropdown list.
  • Select it and wait for a moment as steam syncs to the Preview branch.

** If the preview does not appear in the list, or your game is not being updated, please restart steam completely by exiting steam and logging in again.
** If you want to change back to the normal version, simply repeat the steps above but select "NONE" instead of "preview" in the dropdown list

Previous Update (preview version 1.0.40) :

Hi everyone.

We are very busy adjusting the game according to community feedback. Fixing major issues is top priority of course, but adjusting the gameplay to our community's needs is almost equally important.

Therefor, we have set up a preview version of the upcoming patch 1.0.40 online on a beta branch. We already mentioned that you could contact us to become a dragon tester and are very greatful towards the people that signed up.

We believe more people would like to try our preview though, so the details to try out the patch can be found at the bottom of this announcement.

Patch 1.0.40 contains the following changes:
  • Major change: Return to lobby after game
  • Major change: performance on raven for dualcore systems
  • Icon distance multiplier available in options menu
  • Several achievement fixes
  • Transporters did not pick-up units when in kamikaze mode
  • You can not create combat units anymore when you have retreated
  • Charming back a unit is now possible
  • Mines should explode once fuse is lit
  • Close chatlog when ending combat
  • Remove speed from immobile units
  • Fix for units remaining after surrender
  • Protect while cloaked fixed
  • All bombardment should be on the ground
  • Kamikaze Friendly Fire fixed
  • Air turret got a reveal button
  • Fix for kamikaze transport targetting air units
  • Show aura skills correctly in loadout screen
  • Restealth after transitioning to/from beetle
  • Unit selection sounds when boxselecting
  • Expanded description for battleship order imp fighter
  • Fix for flares not stopping vertical bullets
  • Beetles can be slowed down & speed tooltip update

Hello everybody,

The following changes are now live.

- custom campaign now has advanced game options
- custom campaign on Planet Earth should no longer crash
- custom campaign strategy maps are different from multiplayer maps on the same level (neutral units)
- custom campaign savegames fixed
- saving & loading of advanced game options fixed in custom campaign
- "it's impossible commander" audio spam and related FPS drop fixed
- UPNP fix should stop people from getting stuck on black screen when clicking multiplayer
- Fix for difficulty level not being taken correctly from game options without restarting game or loading savegame

The roll out of this update was slowed down because of the farfetching impact of a new feature we added that lets you change the game rules in the custom story campaign. This caused some complications but they are now fixed. By playing with these options you can literally turn Dragon Commander into a another game and we encourage you to experiment with all the settings. Also, let us know which ones you prefer. If enough of you concur on specific settings, we might turn them into a game mode.

It's worth pointing out that the story situations you encounter in this mode are completely randomized and are drawn from a larger pool of situations, We've also added different scenarios for you to play on. It's the perfect way to explore different choices and experience their consequences. In custom story campaign mode you can immediately select which princess you marry first, skipping the beginning of the game.

We are currently working on a larger update which contains a number of other improvements and also further boosts the AI's, taking into account the suggestions you've been making. We expect this update to be out in the not to distant future i.e. it's actually ready but we still need to test it.

If you are interested in helping us out with testing the updates, please send a mail to supportdc@larian.com with "DragonTester" in the subject line. We'll then send you a code with which you can access the updates once they are available.

We're still fixing a few things in the promised new custom story campaign mode, so we can't launch it today yet. Most likely it'll be tomorrow. Nonetheless, there were a few things that needed fixing, so we launched a new version today with the following changes:

- Savegame instability problems fixed
- UPNP lookup performance problem fixes (was noticable when going to lobby screen)
- Fixed memory leak in UPNP
