Many of you may have seen this video, but there's nothing else going on today, so I'm posting this here because it is awesome. This is a stitched video of every level of Quake being completed at 100%, meaning all kills and all secrets on every level on Nightmare difficulty (via Reddit).

Now, each level was recorded separately and some hacking tools were used to start the next level with the previous level's inventory, but there was no hacking or cheating in the actual level runs. Ten players contributed runs to the project.

Oh, and you're going to hear the shotgun a lot.

Now, I know this Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception level debuted on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, but now Naughty Dog has done us the kindness of releasing a much longer gameplay sequence from the game without all that fumbling about with the controller and banter by Fallon.

It's definitely worth a watch!

Nintendo's famous Pocket Monsters are finally bringing their eternal struggle of adorableness to North America, with the release of Pokémon Black and Pokémon White on March 6, 2011, the publisher revealed.

The two versions of the Nintendo DS title will feature different locations, creatures, and seasons. Unlike other games in the series, the two versions the latest Pokémon entry will feature different locations. According to Nintendo, Pokémon Black features "a unique metropolitan area called Black City," while Pokémon White will have Poké Trainers explore "a lush, green area named White Forest."

Both versions also include seasonal changes. Select Pokémon will be easier to come across during certain times of year and areas within the game will be become blocked or accessible based on the game world's season. Both Black and White versions launched in Japan in mid-September 2010.

A friend's grandmother has a collection of Russian nesting dolls. I would always notice them and wonder what their purpose ultimately was. What led some artist to come up with the idea of dolls stacking into one another? Tim Schafer and the design team at Double Fine don't have the answer for me, but they have opened a whole new avenue for my curiosity about Russian nesting dolls by creating a world for them in a game called Stacking.

Stacking is the latest creative efforts from the makers of Brutal Legend and Costume Quest. The game is set in the miniature world of Russian nesting dolls. Little Charlie Blackmore is the smallest nesting doll in the land, living with his family of chimney sweeps. One day his father disappears, which doesn't sit well with the evil industrialist he works for. Without Charlie's father around to work, the industrialist takes Charlie and his brothers and sisters, and puts them to work in various locales around the land. It's up to Charlie to venture around and solve puzzles in order to free his family from their laborious confines.

In this first demo of the game, I saw the principles of Russian nesting dolls exercised in dozens of unique ways. As the smallest of the dolls, Charlie can stack himself into any doll that's one size larger and, in essence, possess the doll. That doll can then stack into another larger doll, and so on. This grants Charlie unique abilities

In an interview with Edge Magazine, EA's general manager of free-to-play games Ben Cousins explained that EA isn't "getting much from ad revenue at all. The in-game advertising business hasn't grown as fast as people expected it to."

While BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is already available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 at home, its arcade revision--creatively titled BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II--is looking like a PSP exclusive, reports Andriasang citing Japanese magazine Dengeki.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable
This makes sense, since Continuum Shift II is just the original BB:CS with the console DLC added and a bunch of re-balancing, which can be handled through patches on consoles. The PSP only has the series' first title, Calamity Trigger (review), currently.

The new PSP game will support the same modes as Calamity Trigger, but will add a new mode called "Abyss" that Dengeki speculates could be a type of dungeon-crawling mode with some character building functionality. The game's multiplayer mode will also support four players: two fighting and two watching.

This is a Japanese release right now, but all of the BlazBlue games have historically made their way over through publisher Aksys. An Aksys representative told Shacknews that "it's too early to say" if the company will be bringing this release stateside.

If you ever wished D&D had a little more "action" in its "RPG," you may be interested in Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale, announced today. For everyone else, well, is a downloadable action-RPG with support for four-player co-op of any interest? Thought so.

Described as having "intuitive pick-up-and-play combat" with "a wide assortment of weapons, feats and powers," Daggerdale will see players defending the Dalelands from "the evil Rezlus and his Zhentarim," which surely means something to D&D fans.

While Daggerdale will support co-op for up to four heroes, you can also play solo.

Coming from Scratch: The Ultimate DJ's replacement developer Bedlam Games and publisher Atari, Daggerdale is slated for a downloadable release on PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in Spring 2011. Pricing has yet to be revealed.

Dust off your whips and prep your best brooding scowl, more Castlevania content is on the way. Today, Komani revealed two new pieces of downloadable content are in the works for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow from developer MercurySteam.

In the "Reverie" downloadable content pack, players will return to the castle as the game's hero Gabriel in order to lend a hand to the former servant Laura "in destroying the unruly evil that was previously kept in check by the recently slain Queen."

The second downloadable content takes place immediately after the events of the game. Entitled "Resurrection," the content "gives some insight into the dramatic epilogue seen by players upon completion of the game, and Gabriel's ultimate destiny." According to the press release, Resurrection will be larger in scope than the first DLC pack and will feature a "final showdown with a very notorious enemy."

Reverie is expected to launch in February 2011, while Resurrection will arrive in April. Both DLC packs will arrive on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Pricing has yet to be revealed.

The legal battle between Activision and Jason West and Vince Zampella has taken an unusual twist. In new court documents filed this week, the video games giant accuses the pair of conspiring with rival company Electronic Arts to sabotage Infinity Ward as well as fellow Call of Duty series developer Treyarch and the brand.

First, a quick summary of events so far: West and Zampella, who co-founded of Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward before it was bought by Activision, were fired in March under mysterious circumstances; West and Zampella sued for unpaid royalties and brand rights; Activision scoffed. With us so far? Excellent.

IW employees then began leaving the studio in drips and drabs--around 35 eventually left in all; Activision counter-sued, claiming West and Zampella tried to "steal" IW; the pair formed Respawn Entertainment and signed a publishing agreement with EA; some IW veterans joined Respawn; Infinity Ward was restructed. Get it? Got it? Good.

On Tuesday, Activision filed an amendment to its complaint, reported by Joystiq, detailing a whole spread of alleged improprieties. It's claimed that West and Zampella had been in talks with EA for eight months before their firing, plotting together to create a new studio with Activision and Infinity Ward talent. To foster discontent, Activision says, the pair resisted Activision's attempts to pay employees bonuses and incentives. On top of that, they were "already appropriating for themselves approximately 1/3 of the total Infinity Ward bonus pool each quarter."

Although any Portal 2-based news will be a disappointment unless it includes the words "available now," today we're one step closer to seeing the game in stores.

EA and Valve have announced a retail distribution agreement between the two companies that will bring Portal 2 to retail shelves. The partnership was expected, as EA and Valve have already worked together to bring The Orange Box and both titles in the Left 4 Dead franchise to stores.

Valve will distribute Portal 2 for PC and Mac via its digital platform Steam, while EA will presumably distribute the game to retail channels for all planned platforms: PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

In early November, Valve told Shacknews that Portal 2 would launch on April 20 for all platforms in North America. According to the press release today, Europe will be able to make portals on April 21.
