"iPad? This ain't no stinkin' App Store!"

True, this isn't the App Store. But if you're also an iPad totin' gamer, then this news might interest you. Today, Fractal: Make Blooms Not War was re-released on the iTunes App Store under our own name instead of our old publisher. For those that already own Fractal on the iPad, unfortunately we weren't able to transfer any of the previous purchase records. The App Store just doesn't work that way. To receive any updates or to reinstall, it'll have to be repurchased. Good news is that during its first week back on the iTunes App Store it's going to be on sale. It’s FREE through Friday, and only $0.99 through Tuesday. After that it returns to its regular price. So, if you liked Fractal on Steam and are curious about what it's like playing with a touch display, here's your opportunity to pick yourself up a copy on the cheap.

Also important to note is that this new version sees a number of improvements and bug fixes which we also plan to push to Steam in the next update.

If you haven't had the chance to play Fractal yet, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. The New Year's Bundle comes with Fractal: Make Blooms Not War and three other great games, including Nuclear Dawn, Max & The Magic Marker, and Super Crossfire.

You want to buy this bundle, you say? But you already have a copy of Fractal? Remember that Steam allows you to trade extra copies of games purchased through bundles. Make yourself known by proposing a trade in the Will Trade for Fractal thread in the Fractal: Make Blooms Not War forum.

If you'd like to help support us and these other amazing indie studios by offering more than the minimum price, you'll also get a free chiptunes album by George & Johnathan. So head on over to Indie Royale and check out this great New Year's Bundle!
Rock, Paper, Shotgun - (Jim Rossignol)

The latest IndieRoyale bundle includes FPS/RTS hybrid Nuclear Dawn, side-scrolling platformer puzzler Max & The Magic Marker, beautiful puzzler Fractal, and also psychedelic shooter Super Crossfire, which is appearing on PC and Mac for the first time. Quite the selection! There’s also a chiptune bonus for paying more than the minimum. The bundle is available for the next four-and-a-bit days. As ever on IndieRoyale, it’s a PWYW, but there’s a minimum price which goes up as more people buy.

Fractal now has its own discussion section in the Steam User's Forum. The forum went live last night. We'll be using this space to answer questions and respond to comments and feedback related to Fractal on Steam.

So far we have two official threads posted. The first is an open discussion for possible feature additions and changes to Fractal on Steam. Head on over to Fractal: Suggestions for a Steam Feature Update and fire away. We want to see what you have to say.

The second thread serves as a place for reporting bugs in Fractal, even if it's just a suspicion. Head on over to Fractal: Pest Control to log your reports.

As an update on linking the Metacritic score to the Fractal store page: we won't be able to link to Metacritic until a score first exists. We'll need 5 or more critic reviews before we can make the link. Feel free to post your own user review, though. We always love hearing from our fans!

First off, we'd like to give a shout out and a thank you to all of our long-time fans. Here's to all of you who've been with us from the very beginning, who've supported us since our early days in Flash, who've waited in eager anticipation to finally see the likes of Cipher Prime on the face of Steam!

And to all of those new to our family, Welcome! If you like Fractal, be sure check out our other games: Auditorium and Pulse: Volume One.

I tell ya folks, it's been one helluva launch week! Tuesday saw the release of Fractal: Make Blooms Not War. Before the day's end, it had risen to the #1 position on the Top Sellers chart for Casual games, and held it for the better part of the week! It's currently holding position #2.

Also, for those who hadn't heard yet, anyone that previously purchased Fractal: Make Blooms Not War from the Cipher Prime Store is eligible to receive a free copy of Fractal on Steam! Redemption codes are available as of Friday. For details, check out our blog post "Steam Codes for Fractal Owners!"

Friday also saw the release of our first minor update. A few Windows users were experiencing an issue where the game would close out shortly after running it. The reason being was that the necessary Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package wasn't installed. This is now included in the update. Let us know if you folks run into any further issues.

So far, we've gotten some pretty great feedback and reviews. One we especially enjoyed was a video review / tutorial by the guys over at GiantBomb, "Quick Look: Fractal: Make Blooms Not War." If you're interested in seeing more reviews, check out these by Edge Magazine and Gameosaurus. If you'd like to leave your own review or rate Fractal, hop on over to Metacritic. We'll soon have the Metacritic score linked with Steam. We'll also soon have a forum section setup for questions, comments, feedback, and support.

Keep checking back, folks! There's more to come from Cipher Prime, and this is where you'll find the latest for all things Fractal on Steam. For more news, check out the Cipher Prime blog. You can also find us on Twitter and Facebook.
