Community Announcements - OneMrBean


Hey folks! This is easily the biggest update you've ever seen for Choice Chamber. We've gone ahead and added in every last outstanding thing that was dreamed up during the Kickstarter. New weapons, gizmos, enemies, bosses, power ups, polls, trolls, achievements, and more await you in the chambers.

We've also added a way for you to gain extra powers from the chat room. If you subscribe to Bean's Twitch channel, you can use special commands in any channel playing the game. It's a great way to support the developer and get something in return, especially if you like playing along with other broadcasters. More info here.

Without further ado, the changelog!

- added highscore saving for ball bounces
- added weapon display to first room
- added trophy room
- added confetti to chests and boss deaths (so magical)
- changed room captain gifts to appear in next room if they didn't land yet
- changed special events to appear at start when unlocked
- chiseled out Heroes
- added more dynamic sounds to weapons (miss, hit, etc)
- fixed Max+pogo / character+wing jumping when walking off ledge / attacking
- fixed gameover sending you to weird black abyss
- fixed title screen taking menu input on first farme
- fixed Starnose not fully turning red when damaged
- fixed lift gizmo gaining momentum during cutscene
- fixed toothy/ferret staying frozen when dead
- fixed player 2 gizmo unable to move in warpzone

- added "use controllers" checkbox in Settings > Controls
- reordered some polls to not match up with each other

- prepped chat connection code for Twitch's new protocol (starting August)
- updated resub code as per Twitch's new protocol
- fixed race mode breaking if player never used it before
- improvements to race mode connectivity
- game is now saved after every unlock / highscore, in case the game isn't closed properly later
- fixed lift gizmo carrying invisible player when warping back to beginning of room on death

- fixed infinite explosion glitch from beanbot

- added prevention for sending too many messages to chat (hopefully preventing global bans)

Community Announcements - OneMrBean
A small update went out for Choice Chamber today, mostly in response to Twitch moving over their chat servers. They're slowly transitioning all channels, so the game now handles both the old and new connection methods. If your game suddenly stopped connecting in the past few weeks, it might work now!

Also, we added a "reset connections" button to the settings window for when your Chat Bot can't connect anymore, or your game is stuck trying to connect in general. This will erase your connection data so you can enter it in from scratch, hopefully fixing any weird loopholes.

We're working on a big content update for the nearish future, so thanks for your patience! ♥

Thanks for all the feedback for Race Mode beta! Below are a few changes and additions to help make online races a bit more possible. We're not sure why people were getting global banned on Twitch, as the game sends messages at a slow enough rate. We've made it even slower now, meaning your online opponent will update less often. Hopefully this helps out!

Changelog
- Added background to race title
- Reduced netcode speed to prevent global banning from Twitch (oops)
- Increased time it takes to be considered disconnected
- Added visual cue to power blocks
- Increased liklihood of power blocks appearing
- Increased amount of times special chunks appear

Hey everyone! Thanks for your patience between updates. We've been working hard on the new race mode, allowing you to compete against other players both locally and online! Race mode is now in the game, but is still in beta, so please be sure to leave feedback in the forums if you come across something that ain't quite right.

Changelog:
- Added Race Mode (currently in beta, FAQ here)
- Added 18 usernames for Backer Powers & Credits
- Fixed ability to get POGOORNOGO achievement
- Added ability to open Room Captain gifts in Warp Zone
- Changed Hoarfrosted enemies to only be frozen for 1 minute
- Fixed issue when being lifted while exit door cutscene plays
- Fixed particle waterfall when destroying Shop tube glass after buying something
- Fixed placement of flying loot in Grid Room
- Fixed Lucky being able to run off screen in final area
- Fixed solo AI for Great Gizmo to actually shoot at stuff
- Fixed unlocking things at Game Over screen if a Gizmo kills the boss

Made a few quick fixes from last time:
- fixed player getting sent to top of room when riding a Statue into ceiling
- Gizmos are no longer for sale in shop when player is maxed out
- fixed player getting killed on final frame before Warp Zone
- fixed Great Gizmos spawning multiple times across sessions
- fixed Lucky getting stuck against Warp Block when entering new room
- changed spelling of this post to say "Patch"


More fixes! I also added a couple things that I've been meaning to, such as chest jumping penalties and health bars for the bosses (Show Stats needs to be enabled to see them). Have fun in the chambers!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the feedback over the last 2 days. It's been a blast watching and playing with you in chat. I've taken care of most of the biggest issues, so hopefully things run a bit smoother. If you have any issues, the game's official Steam forums are the place to go.
