Trine Update Released

October 29, 2009, 6:56 pm - Valve - Product Update

Updates to Trine have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Trine

  • tweaks the last level, now much easier on Easy/Medium/Hard
  • adds save support for selected controller type
  • adds failsafes for Steam Cloud (savegames are now always saved locally too)
  • adds log support for PhysX errors
  • adds several small technical optimizations
  • fixes audio that was not stopped when skipping the end cinematic
  • fixes thin horizontal bar visible during videos on some resolutions
  • fixes break effect for objects in the last level
  • fixes two broken checkpoints in levels (4th in Shadowthorn Thicket and 10th in Iron Forge)
  • fixes some wall collisions in Iron Forge
  • fixes camera bug when restarting level during a cutscene
  • fixes bug regarding levers
  • fixes bug where enemy item drops are considered secrets
  • fixes Credits section names

Steam Cloud Support for Trine Now Available

The indie hit Trine has just been updated with Steam Cloud support for save game files. Now you can play anywhere and resume right where you left off. In addition to that, language support for French, German, Italian and Spanish has been added. The full list of changes are:

  • Added European languages (French, Italian, German, Spanish)
  • Added Steam Cloud support
  • Fixed "mystery developer keys" for non-regular keyboard buttons

Trine Now Available for Pre-Purchase

The award-winning indie action-platformer Trine is now available for pre-purchase via Steam.

Set in a fantasy world of great castles and strange machinery, three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil. Create and use physics-based objects to beat hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. Switch between three characters to utilize each character's different abilities in battling an army of undead and defeat hazardous contraptions.

Grab a couple game controllers and play co-op with up to two of your friends. Explore the world and unlock all the Steam Achievements.

Customers that pre-purchase Trine before release will instantly get a free copy of Shadowgrounds - the debut hit title by the indie developer Frozenbyte. Already own Shadowgrounds? Give your extra copy to a friend.

Trine is slated to release in early July. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Trine demo to get a taste of the beautiful environments and fine-tuned gameplay.
