  • Newly defeated defectors now can be fought against by everyone! Added ‘All’ option to challenge mode enemy selection. This chooses from everyone’s shared ships, rather than just friends’.
  • Added paging through friends’ and everyone’s ships (50 at a time).
  • Added ‘out of scrap’ warning to the shipyard.
  • Updated the ordering of sub-types in the Direct Control list.
  • Removed some mid-mission camera cuts and zoom changes.
  • Fixed Tomahawk Express and Punch Stopper bonuses (and therefore achievements) not working.
  • Fixed shared ships with fighter decks using the default fighter instead of the one chosen by the creator.
  • Fixed warp in bugs where it could get stuck warping in forever. Reported as Assault Pig invincible in Survival mode.

  • Fixed survival mode ship selection.
  • Fixed off by one wave count required for survival mode achievements.

Defect: Spaceship Destruction Kit [official site] is a shoot ‘em up where you carefully design a ship you’ll love and adore, then crew will mutinity and you’ll need to build a whole new ship to defeat them. Over and over, build ships to destroy their predecessors. I dream of a ship able to destroy me. Point is, Defect has now launched.

  • No longer in Early Access!
  • Localised into French, Italian, German, Spanish and Russian!
  • Hooked up friends option in challenge mode.
  • Added the final two missions.
  • Unlocked more ship pieces in the last few missions.
  • Changed the ship stats shown in the choose ship screen. Old ships will have some zero values until they are saved again from within the shipyard.
  • Changed Options -> Sound -> Sound slider to change the sound fx volume, not the overall volume (i.e. music is no longer affected).

- Added Rail Road Returns level.
- Turned on missile blocking for SSN Directional Shield.
- Added shipyard and fighting control customisation (Options > Controls). This is a first pass, so please give it a go and give us your feedback.
- Added mouse wheel sensitivity slider (Options > Controls).
- Fixed: Pirate Fleet level shouldn't warp out an enemy if it is dead when it reaches the checkpoint.
- Fixed: In Runaway level you can no longer capture the ship after making it neutral.

Good news for all you Linux/SteamOS gamers! Defect is now ready for you to play! If you have already been playing on Windows or Mac OS, your Steam Cloud saves should be available, so you can continue where you left off!
