Shacknews - Steve Watts

As if you didn't have enough to play from the recent bountiful harvest, Indie Royale has rolled out another large game bundle. This one is a doozy, offering ten games instead of the Royale's usual five.

The line-up includes the Telltale game Puzzle Agent, shoot-em-up Mutant Storm Reloaded, puzzler Swift*Stitch, 2D platformer Oniken, Metroidvania game Unepic, and the old-school RPG collection Geneforge Saga. That last one is a five-game multi-pack, which rounds out full ten titles.

As bonuses, you get an extra game from Swift*Stitch creator Sophie Houlden called Rose in Time, the Oniken soundtrack, and in-game bonus items for Unepic. Those who pay more than $8 also get the chiptune album "Insert" from Prof. Sakamoto.

The current minimum is hovering around $5.30. Click here to buy the bundle.

The sequel to Puzzle Agent, Telltale's quirky 2010 head-scratcher, is available for purchase on iPad, iPhone, Mac and PC from today.

Priced at £2.99 on iPhone, £3.99 on iPad and your regional equivalent of $9.99 on PC and Mac, it sees Agent Tethers return to snow-bound Scoggins, Minnesota to solve more Professor Layton-esque brainteasers.

This time round Telltale is promising an "expanded range of tactile puzzles".

The original won a well-deserved 8/10 on this very site. Take a look at Kristan Reed's Puzzle Agent review for more.

Puzzle Agent arrives on the US PlayStation Store on 19th April priced at $10, developer Telltale Games has announced.

It's been a long wait for Sony patrons following the quirky puzzler's initial June 2010 PC launch, but it's well worth investigating – Eurogamer's Kristan Reed awarded it a sturdy 8/10.

Telltale wouldn't lock down a European date, but you shouldn't have too long to wait. A post on the developer's blog promised an announcement was due soon.

As revealed earlier this year, a sequel is also in the works with a PC release planned for later this Spring.

A sequel to 2010's Puzzle Agent is in the works, developer Telltale Games has announced.

According to IGN, the follow-up sees Agent Tether return to America's snow-bound Mid-West to solve more Professor Layton-esque riddles.

It will be available this summer on PC, PlayStation 3 and iOS devices.

That's fine by us - the original scored a sturdy 8/10 from Eurogamer. "With sharp writing paired with a charming if amateurish cast, Puzzle Agent's appeal is rough-hewn, but improbably cohesive," wrote Kristan Reed.

And that's not all Telltale has in the oven. As if this, The Walking Dead, King's Quest, Jurassic Park, Fables and Back to the Future weren't enough, the industrious studio has also added one further title to its slate.

It's teaming up with indie mob Straandlooper to bring its ace iPhone point and click adventure Hector: Badge of Carnage to PC, Mac and iPad. The first episode will launch in the Spring, with two more due later in the year.

Product Update - Valve
Updates to Puzzle Agent have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Fixes
  • Render Layer Issues on NVidia 400 Series Video Cards – Fixes the graphics bug that blocked players at the first snowmobile puzzle.
  • Text Not Displaying on Non-English OS: Fixes issue that caused all in-game text to disappear if the game was running on an OS set to any language but English.

Rules Updates
  • Two puzzles— Maw of Madness and Hydraulic Headache – had additional rules text added that clarifies the requirements of the puzzles.

Puzzle Updates

  • Room Key Confusion: In the original version, the “NINE” text was much bigger and vertically-oriented. In this updated version it appears smaller, and is horizontal. The essence of the puzzle is still the same, but the changes make it more straightforward to figure out.
  • Cut Your Losses: In the original version, the goal was to draw a line connecting all the players that intersected with every pane of glass. In the updated version, the goal is identical to the first football puzzle: Draw a line connecting all the players that avoids every pane of glass.

Now you can join the world of Puzzle Agent and test yourself with brainteasers at every turn: mazes, logic puzzles, riddles, and more.

Created with indie comic artist Graham Annable's unique narrative and visual sensibilities, delivered with the distinctive Telltale storytelling style, Puzzle Agent is sure to challenge, thrill and engage in more ways than you can shake a cryptogram at!

The man behind the look of Telltale Game's twisted Puzzle Agent further explores the experiences that made him the delightfully twisted creator he is today, in part two of Graham Annable in His Own Words.

In part one of this Telltale-produced Graham Annable biopic, the artist discussed his early years with LucasArts, working on games like Secret of Monkey Island, Full Throttle, and Star Wars: Obi-Wan.

Now we can add Porky Pig and Daffy Duck, storyboarding Neil Gaiman's Coraline, and growing up in Northern Ontario to the list of experiences that ultimately led to Annable creating the look and feel of the gnome-riddled, Fargo-esque Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent.

Puzzle Agent is out now for PC and Mac and will be coming out later this month for WiiWare, iPad, and iPhone.
